Thank you all for your input. We'll start up a Sunday session for the whole day then! I'll update the OP, and post a status about it too. We'll keep at it for a bit and see if that's any better for everyone. It may be slow at first, but it definitely sounds the most promising alteration. See you all then!

For anyone who misses the announcement: The usual Sunday session will now be held all day, 24 hours: an open, full session day!

To just add to the points above - many of the people who have TRIED to contribute news have been constantly antagonized and oppressed by trombe's actions. @Traxanis NOT the only one to have experienced this. What most of you guys DON'T see are the endless complaints about trombe that the staff receives from other members about how their own contributions are being impeded upon. Other great contributors like YNS and numetal were mentioned - the difference is that they don't actively try to prevent other people from contributing as well. They do their part for the community and allow others to do the same. No one has EVER been against trombe posting news. Hell, he's free to post as much news as he wants as often as he wants, but there's no need to step on other people's toes.

And to even assume that the staff did not value trombe's contributions is absurd. trombe has been problematic for years now and the staff have tried their hardest to work with, honor, and appease trombe because his contributions were so meaningful. But what do you do when you give someone a special rank, color, and their own special set of permissions - when you give them the power to contribute more efficiently and they just abuse that power? What do you do when you're a staff member trying to address a problem and your efforts to communicate and work out said problem are blatantly ignored? What do you do with a user who is constantly praised and literally the member with the most likes on the entire forum BY FAR, yet this member bitches and moans when a few threads (out of hundreds posted every week) don't get any replies (despite plenty of page views)?

The staff have literally bent over backwards for trombe. If It was up to me, I would have perma-banned his ass ages ago - because I wouldn't want to keep dealing with his constant bullshit, his shitty attitude, and his inability to actually talk shit out and reason. Fuck that, he can kick rocks. Dude was fuckin' temp-banned for a week. A MOTHERFUCKING WEEK. Bruh...And yall think the mods don't value this guy? No one in their right minds would continue to put up with this nonsense if they didn't actually give a shit.

I mean, I get it. I understand that emotions are high and people are upset about losing a contributor as outstanding as trombe, but at the end of the day, It should also be understood that trombe is leaving of his own accord - not because of the staff, or "trolls", or some ridiculous behind-the-scenes plot. So again, I say good. You should leave if you're not willing to cooperate and be a part of this community.

Not to be harsh, but the other "90%" are lurkers who purely use the forum to download things and get the free news. If people became more active, the community would be a lot larger. Just because someone contributes a high percentage of one section of this forum does not make it okay for them to be disrespectful and childish. The fact that people are defending and suggesting one person have an exception to do whatever they want simply because they provide a convenience people are to lazy to do just baffles me.

This is a forum, not just a news site. People are encouraged to be active and contribute. PS: a lot of those "trolls"/mods liked/and people known around here are known for a reason. They're liked for a reason. Mods were users just like all of us who took on their positions to help make this community an enjoyable place. These are also people who have contributed in just as much of a valuable way as trombe did.

You want a news section? Pick a band or two and contribute. You wanna read news and do nothing, get off a forum and go to a news site.

To all the people complaining that now "there won't be any news anymore" let me tell you this as a person who's written for newswebsites for years: when you see one person do 95% of the stuff, you're easily demotivated to even go and try to see if whatever news you've bumped into is already there or not. So people who want to help but aren't as quick will either see that person as an easy way out, "they'll do it, I guess. Maybe already did", or will just start believing they're simply "not good enough" to bother posting anything at all.  With such a person not around anymore, people will be more inclined to actually post a thing when they come across it. The "next gen" MH news people will show up by themselves for sure.

That said, Trombe did lots of work through these years, and all of it was because they felt like it. While they might not have made the best decisions concerning issues and MH as a team, the work itself can't be ignored. But doing lots of work (essentially no one's asking you to do) doesn't equal being able to do whatever the fuck you want to. Rules are rules. And they are there for every single one of us.

I don't think anyone has ever doubted your contributions to the community and I'm sure everyone appreciates your service. But honestly, you SHOULD leave. I'm not saying this out of spite or anything, but given the situation, I think it's the best logical route.  Having been a staff member myself for many years, I can vouch that the current staff are super lenient. I mean, you REALLY have to go out of your way to receive a ban of any kind. Hell, I know from personal experience that you're not very cooperative or even easy to get in touch with/establish some kind of communication with.

But whatever the case, you clearly have different ideas about how things should work here. And as welcome as you are on MH, you can't just go into someone else's home and do whatever you please. It doesn't work that way.  So instead of continually antagonizing the head of the house and ignoring all attempts to compromise, just "move out". Get your own. Make a blog. Build your own site or forum and run it however you like. I think that's a much saner option than sticking around and being a nuisance.

I think that was the problem, ironically.

No one here is going to deny that Trombe was a very well known, and informative member on this website for VK news.
Yet, everyone needs to realize that he was just that. A member. No different from any one of us. To my knowledge, he was not being paid to do this.

It seems that no one besides the Admins/Moderators, are aware of the situation. No one should be jumping to conclusions. As being a moderator on various websites over the years myself, I understand what a group decision among other mods is like. No right to disrespect, if you don't understand.

If you feel that the news section was the ONLY thing making up MH, then perhaps reconsider and take a close look at the rest of the content that our admins have worked hard to provide for us to view and participate in. I find it ironic that some members I have never seen, have posted on this thread, but no other part of the forum.
If you really don't care about anything/anyone else on this site, then why are you even a member? It's an honest question. There are plenty of blogs elsewhere to read for news.
Those of you mentioning that only Trombe made up the forums news section, are placing him on a high pedestal, when you should not. Please find it in your best interests to help populate the news section from now on if you feel you could, as we already have plenty of other members already doing so, and the more the merrier.

I love some of the excuses on here to justify their lack of support for the news section.
You don't know where to start looking? Well no one's holding a gun to your head lol just post anything that you come across that has not been posted yet, if ever. It's that simple
No time to post you say? Well, if you can read the content on one website, I'm pretty sure you can copy/paste that same news on here as well.
Don't feel like it? Well, then you have no say on this matter, now do you?

Due to the negligence of most of us here at MH, to not provide a piece of content when we probably could have, have allowed one member to dominate a section of the forum to the point where we eventually felt there was no longer a need for other contributors, and newer members saw this member as the ONLY means for new VK news. In a way, it's our fault Trombe became so vital to the community.
Edit: I had heard about Trombe and his PMs of hate on other potential news posters, but I didn't think it was real until now. Nice to see these individuals come forward. Perhaps this will shed some light as to why it seemed that there was no one else BUT Trombe who posted news.

Why do I sound like a moderator? lol
    Excuse my asshole rant.

Thank you for the contributions to this forum Trombe. Good luck on your new blog or website, if you should choose to do so.

I used to be part of this forum many years ago as well as Batsu back in it's glory days. I haven't been following Visual Kei for awhile now but have been finding myself on this forum time and time again and thought I should start contributing again. The only bands I have been able to stay in touch with has been Dir En Grey as well as The Gazette.

A lot has changed for me over the years. Just in the last year I have gotten married and now have a baby on the way! I tell everyone now that I feel like a real adult now, I am only 24 so I feel like a kid still. I love the heavy tunes as well as some kpop groups such as Big Bang and 2ne1.

Excited to be apart of this community again! Thanks everyone!

I was too late to respond to you, @peffy, but Kingdoms of Amalur is a lot of fun. Combat is absolutely top notch, and there's so much to do in the game, it can even be quite overwhelming sometimes. Certainly worth the money and time though. I suggest you play it after Okami since that's my pick. I actually picked up Okami on the Wii not too long ago. Only played a bit of it, but there's no way you can't love how it looks.

Made a habit of posting in the VN thread since I'm on a VN binge atm so I'll take this moment to respond here on what I'm up to as well. Coming to the end of 999, which sucks since I zoomed though it, but my full attention is on Amnesia: Memories for now. It wasn't what I expected, as the routes are selected right at the start of the game. It's made me realize I prefer the usual VN gamestyle. Characters didn't leave a good first impression on me, but by the end of it, their traits got the best of me. Only completed Shin's path, since I thought he was the most official (apart from that secret fifth guy). He's really grown on me and now, picking a different guy and not him makes me feel bad and upset. Didn't think I could actually like them like this. I did not ask for this!

Picked up my DS to play a bit of Pokemon White too, thanks to @CAT5. I didn't even finish SoulSilver, and not even halfway in White. Did only a bit of Pokemon Go too yesterday as it somehow started to work for me when I accidently updated Google Maps, woohoo~ Apart from a few PS3 games being touched too, like Reckoning, I'm mostly doing VN hunting. /o/

Was in talks with @hiroki a few weeks ago in the chat, and for his benefit, and for I'm sure many others depending on their time zones, I'd like to suggest we either hold another official session earlier on Sundays, or another official session on another day of the week. That would be earlier too. This is so that those who have never been able to make the session placed at our usual 8pm GMT have more of a possibility at attending. It may have to be handled and overlooked by someone else depending on the time, but seeing as hiroki is seven hours in front of the GMT time, I'm proposing we start it around lunchtime. Around 1pm GMT to be exact. That would be the exact same time we'd have been doing all this time, but on hiroki's side. It could be held on Sunday before our usual one comes on, or it can be on another day where most people get their breaks. What do you guys think? If anyone has any better ideas, feel free to post them!

If there's anyone else who has never been able to join us because of the timing, please tell us now and we can discuss!

To those who usually can attend, are we all set for another usual Sunday session?~

i don't know where did you hear that, but no, there's is no rush at all, things are getting to their ends by the normal(or even a bit dragged) Bleach pace:
    - good guys are fighting bad guys
    - bad guys are showing what they got and almost winning
    - good guys are showing what they got and win/almost win
    - Ichigo fighting the baddest guy
    - the baddest guy is no match for Ichigo, he takes all the powers and goes to destroy the world
    - Ichigo will eventually find some way to defeat they and they will all live happily ever after

fuck you @Carmelzors, I just gone done writing this big-ass post to see you've already posted.  Imma post it anyways, and then read what you've got to say afterwards, so know this post was written without having read yours first!

Ya know, It's funny because I think that @Pho, @WhirlingBlack, and @hiroki 's points about outside opinions have been proven - not directly through their arguments, but by simple virtue of them openly engaging in this conversation. Even if I don't agree with their outlooks, by sharing our separate arguments - I think this discourse has allowed all parties to become more aware of our different points of contention, and opened our perspectives a bit. I think this is part of what they were getting at all along, and as evidenced by emmny's post (which ppl from all sides of the debate have liked), there has been some extent of mutual understanding reached. So while I still stand by my words and feel like the opinions of outsiders should not eclipse the opinions of the oppressed in question, I can certainly appreciate the prospective value of those outside opinions.

This is a LOADED topic, and one that can get emotional and touchy quick. My posts have definitely been fraught with anger and frustration, but I'm glad that we could hold such a heated discussion without getting too catty about it. It's been unexpectedly cathartic for me, and there is a certain beauty to being able to discuss these things with people from literally all over the planet, all with different backgrounds and ideologies. So I apologize if I made anyone feel as if their opinion is unwanted, but in less angry terms than I stated earlier, I do think that when engaging with a topic this dense, we all have to humble ourselves to each other and respect the different perspectives at play - difficult as it can be. So with that in mind, rest assured that I've no hard feelings towards @Carmelzors, @WhirlingBlack, @Pho, or @hiroki. If anything, it's a good thing you guys are taking part in this conversation, because there are many who are too scared to, can't be bothered to, or simply refuse take part in it, and many others who don't even recognize it as an actual discussion.

Also, bless @emmnyfor his post. I think he succinctly communicated what I had trouble trying to articulate in the last few posts. If I were to try and sum up what it feels like to be black in America, I'd describe it as follows. It's like a catch22 of sorts.  I wasn't born into world thinking "i am black, this is my identity. this is who i am". I still don't think that either. I'm just a human being with thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears..with an identity, same as anyone else. But unfortunately, we've been thrust into this silly racial game. Nobody asked to play this game. Black people didn't wake up one day say "you know what? let's create some racial tension for shits and giggles!"

I like how @Pho described race as an "arbitrary identity factor" - and it is. Race is literally a man-made concept. So all of this racial strife...this "game" is complete and utter, divisive bullshit. But the problem is that for black Americans, this game is unavoidable. Imagine being trapped inside of a video game, but knowing that a world exists outside of that video game, and that you're not the one controlling the game. Even if you try to ignore the fact that you're in the game and go about living your life, you're still in the game at the end of the day. So what do you do? When you try to speak out to the controllers of the game - when you point out all of the racism and injustice - it only serves to antagonize and further perpetuate the game.

This is basically what being black in America feels like. Forced to play a game you don't want to. Even if you try to ignore it, the system still sees you as "black". I don't like calling myself black. I don't get off from doing that. It does literally nothing for me. I just want to be a normal human being like everybody else. "white privilege" comes into play when you realize that for the most part, white people can enter and exit this metaphorical game at will. The system recognizes them as individuals. Me on the other hand, no matter what I do and no matter who I choose to be, I'm still appended to this bullshit idea of "black". And if you want to make matters even worse, there are many black AND white in people in America who don't even realize they're in this crappy, antagonistic racial game. They're perfectly content being soulless sprites, living as they're programmed to. But that's a whole 'nother can of worms...

I'm rambling at this point, but I do enjoy discussing this. Maybe we should just make a seperate thread? aha.
