Since I took some photos today to show a friend a couple of dresses I purchased, I thought I could put up those since my hair is done in them unlike my original picture. Took forever positioning the mirror (had to be on bed hah) even though I couldn't get a full body image! >.< And the 'selfie' looks a bit weird, I think I was in the middle of blinking. xD A bit too much lipstick too lol, doing your own makeup is difficult.. I hope the dress design/details shows, sorry if it doesn't! Being someone who does a photography course, I am SHOCKING with the lighting and camera use. Apologies.

    DELACROIX - Re:do [MP3 320] [2014.08.27]

I never did tried this band out before. So it's my first time! my first impression of this band.

Anyway, I really don't understand this kind of new gerne music not all all.
Clean vocal with Grunting parts and a mix out of rock and brute metal.  It's really something from the last few years which is typical Japanese visual kei shizzel music. Which I normally dislike a lot. But somehow this band knows a way to mix those part pretty good to not let it overlap annoying. (As many bands do so, Gazette and Mejibray, Lycaon as example)
Also when a part of a song get boring again they break in and make the song interesting to listen again, so there is no way that I would skip any song. Only thing I maybe think is that the songs are a bit "long?"
1-3rd song, I do like them. nicely composed.
4rd song, do I hear some Marlin inspiration? totally  Marilyn Manson - Personal Jesus song. (lol) However their inspiration could be done way better. more heavy and deeply. The clean vocal is a bit boring in this song. To less power inside. But it's enjoyable to listen to.
5th song starts with piano and rain sound and then turns into harder metal sound and than in cleaner rock. But for me its a song which I would skip at the next play, it somehow lacks the power I'm looking for in a band. But the composition of the song is nicely done.
6th song starts strong but they could better make this a real full grunt song. and with lesser PIG grunt voice sound. It's nothing special. and the guitar solo.. was that a solo? lol?! they better could skip this song on this album.
7th song - this start... inspirited by dir en grey, Child Pray song?. but after all this songs is just random drumming and random screaming. not something what I like.
8th song. only playing ans screaming into totally mess, it has nothing with rock nor metal to do at all. But still it doesn't get annoying.
9th song its a beautiful soft rock song melody is nothing special but least they cared to make a good song. Guitar solo is alright but nothing amazing special.
10th song again not really a song I like but composed again perfect, so easy to listen till the end.
11th song nice song but I would like it more a bit different. just bit to much random scream etc.

only a little bit to much PIG grunting but after all it's a nice release.
But I won't spent my money on this. because this kind of music is not something I really like.
But it really surprised me that there is a band who really can compose such kind of shizzel in the GOOD way that I can play it at least until the end without thinking "oh man this sound like SHIT".

Rating on own taste: it's not something what I would play yet everyday.
Rating without own taste: They are going in good direction, still need to work on better guitar. and the "Grunt" isn't perfect yet. Also the vocalist voice isn't unique at all, it's a typical visual voice. If his voice was more unique I would have enjoyed this release more. However they grow into something really good and big. they are still 5 years old so much can happen, and it would be a pity if they would break up.

But yes its a good release, but no it's not the best album of the year. But it belongs in the list of best albums of the year.
So, I'm looking forward to their next release. I'm going to follow this band somehow.

Lol, the beauty of what is known as RPG. < 3 Indeed!
Haha, my nana was with me in the same room when sis and I were playing the demo and sis told me not to turn around no matter what and I did thinking it was safe and I really did throw the controller across the room and screech as the woman grabs the character. xD I totally understand, playing alone AND/OR in the dark, it's not safe kids.
Oh my gosh, Amnesia!? xD I find that game more funny than scary, now that I've seen so many walkthroughs of it lol. I feel brave for saying that now haha, I can't believe how different it is actually playing the game instead of just watching others play it. You're brave though for doing that you know!!

Edit: Oh yeah, after reading sai's post again, I've been meaning to play Lightning Returns since it came out. I actually really enjoyed the game trilogy (is that even the correct term? ><) even though it wasn't very well recieved or liked. I should really try out the classic Final Fantasy games soon actually.

Hehe, yeah it is addicting, I love leveling up and finding secrets and completing all quests lol.  I seriously can't play it alone, let alone in the dark lol.  I tried that once with a game called Amnesia, alone, in the dark and with headphones.  I got into 15 minutes before I couldn't take it anymore.  That game is seriously scary. Haha!

Oooh, my sister would love you just as much as I love you for saying you also usually only play RPG games. : 3 I get very easily addicted to just having to level up your characters. I adore unlocking all those power ups and new moves! But yeah, the games with the most interesting and engaging storylines are always a must play to me, reason why I can understand the hype and love for both those two games.
Haha, wish we could all get together and just play that demo. That'd be a night to remember! ( sis always says playing/watching horror in the dark is best, but I'm WAY to scared to do that unless it's with her or a group of friends, so much fun haha x) )

The Last Of Us and Beyond: Two Souls (slowly completing that is). Thanks to the help of my little sis, and literally forcing her to keep these two PS3 games instead of selling them so I could give them a go, I became interested in the two popular games. And for me, that's quite rare, they've both got a really engaging story. But I usually only play RPG games, since I'm only a good player with those kind of games and enjoy them the most. I'm just a total fail with any other games on the Xbox or PS consoles.. Also trying out the P.T. demo slowly with her, because we're both such scaredy cats even though we love horror. ><

Finally after a while we hear finally something from ADAMS again. Well their last album was also released this year around their European tour. However didn't like the album. Somehow it just sounded boring to me. So yes I was happy to hear the news about the new single "Akisame". Because ADAMS is the best in releasing singles!

Akisame means something like "Autumn Rain" or maybe "Rainy Autumn"?

The song Akisame start with ADAM singing and it has a happy tune. It reminds me a lot of "ONE AND ONLY" it doesn't remind me of "boku no sei" or "seseragi" at all. Even if the song has a "happy tune" it doesn't tell you a happy story, the story is about broken love. That you have loved someone so deeply that even RAIN cannot help you to get rid of the pain. It continues to tell the story where it stopped at Seseragi. The melody is a mix of typical pop and a bit of rock elements, it also reminds me to some older anime music tracks. it has guitar elements but also keyboard aka computer made melodies inside. which made this song not really a sad song. ADAMS voice is good as always but he could make this song even more sad with singing with real broken love feelings. However because of singing this way it makes me feel that he simply sings happy to get rid of those sad feelings. But I don't get the image of a rainy dark Autumn day when I listen to this song, because this song really make you feel to go out dancing. (dancing in the rain maybe?) After all this song is really enjoying and that makes this song good. I really like it.

NUDE start with a church clock. Which remembers me actually of a church clock sound if someone has died. (lol) But it's not a depressive lyric at all...(hahaha) Somehow because of this clock it let me feel as it is a sad love song too. But after reading the lyric the ringing bell reminds me of a xxx movie. The first xxx movie. Who also had such ringing bell at the end of the movie... yes I'm talking about "Deep Throat" xxx movie. (lol) The lyrics of this song doesn't make that much sense. The lyric of this song isn't that important. The lyric is really filled with sexual thinking. A good song to play when you are with your lover in bed doing xxx things. The melody let you also think of nude things... eh nude? naughty nude things. It's a melody which you can easy enjoy.

Both melodies are actually typical catchy pop songs. It aren't really rock songs but they have also a little taste of rock. In the next works of ADAMS I surly gonna miss the sound of the guitar since they totally going industrial in their new works. But I guess the pop industrial way?! so more the electronic way... but industrial is also electronic.
There wont be any ADAMS fan who won't like this single. It's impossible to not like this. However I really think that it is really important to read the "translations" of both songs. because it makes it more easy to feel the music more deeply and to understand the songs better.

However I still got one tip for ADAMS. put more feelings inside the vocal. ADAM is a great vocalist but yet I cannot clearly hear if he sings a sad, sexual or happy song without reading the lyric.
And I also wonder how a pure dark rocking ADAMS would sound like. (lol)

    My rating for this single.
MELODY: simply because you like it at the first play
FEELING: because while listen to it you won't understand the real content of the lyrics.
    LYRICS:
Akisame perfect written lyric. really beautiful.
NUDE could be written more deeply, words are simply way to random and sentences simply doesn't make that much sense.
OVER ALL: Its a nice single which you won't regret buying.

    So what are you thinking?

You can listen to the single OVER HERE

and again my review is a bit vague... but somehow this single doesn't let me write a good review. Maybe because it's to much pop for me?

Artist: MEJIBRAY Single: シアトリカル・ブルーブラック Score: Seriously?
I don't often listen to MEJIBRAY, but when I do it's a single because I can't take an entire album of this.

Listening to MEJIBRAY is like playing darts with a very skilled but drunk friend whose precision is impeccable but whose aim is off. Said friend would hit the bullseye more often than not if they took the time to aim before throwing. But in the spirit of keeping the game going as fast as possible, he tosses many darts at the board and hope that enough stick to get him the points he needs to win. The groupies watching who hype his skills overlook this fact. His fans are divided into two groups: one group that sees the potential and the other group which is concerned with the final result. One group hypes his abilities too much and the other underestimates them too much, and that leaves our friend MEJIBRAY in the no-man's land of slightly above average.

This friend knows that he has the talent to play much better - the company of expert-dart throwers he practices with is top-shelf - but he also knows that there is little incentive to play well, so he is satisfied with subpar performance because even if he doesn't win, he still "did well". It works out anyway, right?

    No.

THEATRICAL BLUE BLACK is that type of performance that starts shaky and fizzles out before the end. Akin to watching a trainwreck in slo-mo, I can pinpoint the moment when the hype train goes off the side of a cliff. Inconsistency has always been MEJIBRAY's Achille's heel - except it's more like Achille's torso - and the only thing I can say in confidence about them is that they're consistently inconsistent. Even with the gigantic target on their chest that I can't resist taking shots at, MEJIBRAY is here to stay. So while they're still relevant and the Little Hype Train That Could struggles to stay on the track while moving at top speed, let's take a look at why it's good to know when to stop.

If you're interested as to when things get bad, the answer is before it begins. THEATRICAL BLUE BLACK is MEJIBRAY's current offering of a single. I've heard good things from many people about this single but I don't see it. I was expecting to be floored but instead I was bored. "Been here, done that" sums everything up. Yet another song with metalcore verses and a pop hook that by some arcane wizardry fits together better than it usually does, MEJIBRAY has covered no new ground. In my eyes, this is a regression of sorts! They've done better than this before.

Let's start with the tone of the guitars. They may be tuned low, but MiA left all the aggression and heaviness at home. These riffs sound djent-like brittle, neutered at the balls and leave no impact. They seem to be low because they have to maintain their cred as a metal band, but when the chorus is the more convincing musical effort the band isn't maintaining very well. The bass makes up makes up for the lack of low-end punch but it's not enough and often gets overpowered by the guitar. The biggest surprise is Tsuzuku, who has removed a lot of the vocal ticks that made him insufferable to listen to. It's evident in his vocal delivery early into the song - the way his singing morphs into an agitated outburst is the product of many hours of practice. His harsh vocals have not improved at the same rate. He is not at the level where he should attempt them, but no obvious pitch-shifting and the ability to maintain his pig squeals is a plus.

But what can I really say that's not me scraping for positive comments? Not much. Singles need X-Factors to draw me in. THEATRICAL BLUE BLACK doesn't have that. Yet another nameless, faceless single that I won't remember by next week, it could have been done by any other band with the same result. I fail to get a sense of what skills or inspirations MEJIBRAY possesses that separates them from their peers. If this is what they call a single, I'm not convinced the hype is warranted.

I'm even more convinced I'm right when I move onto the B-sides. BI"name"JIKA has an even more cryptic name and has it's own set of problems. First off, it sounds like two different tracks sandwiched together. The first part moves with a rhythm that sticks in your head like a harpoon but isn't catchy. An overreliance on electronic elements with barely any melody means MEJIBRAY is treading water until it switches gears halfway through. Once MEJIBRAY commits to the slow, building style of the chorus on the way out they start conjuring something that can keep my interest. But they don't sustain it for long and just when things get started the track begins to fade out. This irritates me, because the one time they stumble onto an idea not fully explored, it's treated as an afterthought.

HATE is MEJIBRAY's last attempt to get my attention, and they resorted to a two and a half minute number that isn't worth listening to. I have no positive comments about this song. Maybe this gets the crowds going when performing but it's a below-average track overall. I was bored faceless by this. Just needless screaming, a boring and simple set of riffs, and a lack of resolution coupled with no direction. They do this type of track now and again and every single time it just fails. I didn't even finish this song because once I knew where it was headed I knew I wouldn't like the destination.

Cut out all the fame and the hype G. Close any tabs that have a picture open of this band. Turn whatever you're listening to off. We're going to have a serious conversation.

I'll start with the fundamental question I want to pose: why?

Why are they at the forefront of the modern visual kei movement? This band is nothing special. Pardon my French, but this was bland as fuck. No immediate appeal, no lasting appeal, no noteworthy moments at all on this single. What was being hyped again, because I totally missed the train? Or rather, I should say the train missed the station. It never showed up!

Adamant on relying on the same bag of tricks that's been passed around the scene for the last few years, MEJIBRAY doesn't put their own spin on their influences. It's a direct copy-paste of the formula that never deviates from it's inspirations and this formula isn't a turn-key. If a successful product is the end goal, going through the motions isn't going to cut it. Bands can't just play metalcore riffs with pop choruses and come up with a hit single. Songs need soul! It's not only about composing the music, it's about feeling the music. Being the music, even! It's about putting your emotions, your heart, your everything into every track. Each track should communicate a message from artist to fan across language barriers the way only music can.

MEJIBRAY doesn't do this. MEJIBRAY is incapable of doing this. I've tried to get into them on multiple occasions and each time it leaves a worse taste in my mouth. I went back to their first single just to see if it's them or me and it's them. There were traces of promise on their first two singles that have been suppressed for a good while now. MEJIBRAY need to get back to their roots. DIE KUSSE was a step down from Karma & KILLING ME not only in terms of complexity, but delivery, energy, and passion. This is another step down from that. Where's the energy of the band? Everyone sounds so bored, like this has become a routine for them. The passion in the delivery of the choruses are so forced and unconvincing the songs never elevate. The thrill that only a great solo can instill in the listener; the type of solo to get your heart pumping and your feet tapping? It's not here.

At the beginning of the review, I said there were two groups: those that see potential and those that want results. I am in the latter group. Potential means jack shit if you can't deliver. Nobody will remember a band for their potential - only for what they delivered. As long as MEJIBRAY continues to not explore their potential and are content with substandard performances, they will never be deserving of all the hype or attention they get.
