Hyperactive Jpop-rock band Gacharic Spin has announced their 3rd single will be released on 6/22. The new song is "Crunchy!! / arbus girl" and, if Bing translated it right, "Crunchy!!" will be used in a commercial for House Wellness Foods, which will debut on TV on June 6. The band also has an interesting new look. They ditched the assigned colors (Koga always wore yellow, Hana wore blue, etc) for a more uniform look. Koga and Tomo-zo sure look different.

I definitely think there is anti-Japanese sentiment. I see it most with the anti-Babymetal crowd. After the initial round of "they aren't metal" claims will often come the racist comments. I swear some people act like Pearl Harbor was last week, not 75 years ago.

Definitely not Japanese or VK but I am stunned. The band is called Oceans of Slumber, from Houston Texas. They are a prog metal band, kinda like Dream Theater, except the singer is a black woman, which is unheard of in metal. And she sings amazingly well.

The girls have quite a week coming up. They kick off their tour at Wembley Arena in London on 4/2, then on 4/5 they will be on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Shame they got on the weakest late night show. Colbert's losing audience like crazy and he's becoming less relevant. Jimmy Kimmel is more metal-friendly, but he's also in California.

The irrational hatred of these girls is a little scary. I don't remember ever seeing metalheads get so unhinged before. Personally I don't really care. There are so many all-female bands that run rings around the Kami band that I would rather listen to. But I do think once the gimmick runs its course, Sumetal has a hell of a pop/idol career ahead of her. The other two, not so sure.

Saki of Mary's Blood has answered my tweets in the past, since she speaks fluent English. I also correspond with a former member of the American band Nevermore, but not much. Maybe once every three months. He is very busy and yes I am being vague for a reason.

Bought my first black metal album ever, Abbath's self-titled debut. After hearing a few tracks I was hooked. Catchiest damn riffs I've heard in ages.

Glad they are ok. And also glad to see a Japanese band touring the US. I've said before these bands need to get out of Japan. No idea who Coldrain or Silverstein are but happy to see JRockers in America.
