This is what I mean... Care to elaborate on your dislike?

I'm curious to know from long-time fans what it is that bothers you about the band's change. Is it purely the music, or that they abandoned the VK style as well? I see the bitching here and elsewhere about the band's new style and while a part of me wants to say get over it, because I like their new sound a lot, I also know the deep disappointment of a band you once loved turning to garbage. Aldious has been a constant disappointment with Re:No, although that's nothing compared to what happened to In Flames, a band that released 3 consecutive masterpieces and one great album, has turned into. But there, it was a massive change in sound, and for the worse. Much worse. I cannot believe the band that made "Colony" made "Siren Charms." So tell me, what is it that upsets people so much about new Exist Trace?

Why is Yoshiki considered a great drummer? All he does is sway in his seat like he's drunk. Chargeee is 100x more entertaining and talented.
  4. GS are so busy now. The band has gotten really big in the last few years. Fuki, OTOH, has seen things dim with Light Bringer dissolving. Word is the show sold out in under an hour.

One thing I just don't get about Japanese bands is doing MVs without members. Their drummer left months ago, ok. They used a session drummer for the album. A mistake, I think because the permanent drummer might have a different style. But do a video with an obviously missing member?? Galmet did two without a bassist, and I'm sure there are others. Why do they do this?

She did. She teamed with former GS guitarist Eita. They called themselves Takaeita, running their names together. They were playing gigs, had released songs.

Japan: Mary's Blood, "Fate." Sorry no music video because fuck you, Victor Entertainment. So here's Saki being her usual goddess self. The west: Tie between Metallica "Hardwired to self-destruct" and Witchery "In his infernal majesty's service."

Just out of curiosity, when did these deaths occur? I've noticed that most of the health problems I've seen took place from 2012 on, which would be one year after Fukushima. You had Rami of Aldious suddenly quitting in 2012 due to a "brain disease" and the super-fit Armmy of Gacharic Spin having to leave in 2011 or 12, trying for a comeback, then suddenly dying last year and no cause given. These are young women in their 20s. They should be in their primes and indestructible.

Just bought Metallica's "Hardwired" and preordered Witchery's "In His Infernal Majesty's Service." Also griped to Saki from Mary's Blood on Twitter about not being able to buy her new record on iTunes. She said there was nothing she could do about it. At least she answered.

Bumping this in the hopes of getting a translation for BenJanDan. That first video kinda amazes me. In all my years of concert going I've never see that happen, where a band had to stop because an instrument was out of tune and they had to kill time while it was quickly tuned backstage. That's just a serious failure on the road crew's part.
  11. The original Aldious lineup.
  12. Traxan

Absolutely, and Mally's drumming really sells it. She has a great sense of swing.
  13. Can anyone tell me more about Marty Friedman's drummer Chargeee? This dude is a trip and then some. He looks like a bleach blonde Tommy Lee and plays like him. His facial expressions alone are a riot. Watch the faces he makes with Marty after the bass solo. And then he plays like a beast. he's become my favorite Japanese drummer but I only know him through Marty's band. Here he is in action with Kiyoshi during her bass solo before they launch into "Ashes to Ashes," which is the high point of the show IMO.

Re:no of Aldious sings pretty low. And if you ever heard her perform "Mermaid" you'd know why. She should never be allowed to perform that song again.
  15. I have something a little different to share. I discovered this band on a Youtube recommendation. They are called Oceans of Slumber and have the unique element of having a black woman for a singer. Thankfully she doesn't do the horrid screamo that is so typical of metal, she sings with a very soulful sound. Then again, the band is a decided prog metal band, more like Dream Theater than grindcore. Hope you like.

    Drugs 'r bad, m-kay?

So, in celeb news, Sofia Vergara (the hot Latina from "Modern Family") and her husband took in "We Are X" and hung with Yoshiki and Marilyn Manson.

This song makes me smile daily. I'd kill for a translation. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3iecqt_benjandan_lifestyle

Swear to God some of those bass parts sound like Lemmy's tone.

11 days between shows... are they staying in Europe or flying back and forth? Either way it'll get expensive.

Word is sun-go and Saki will have a guitar duel on this record, which would be a first. Mother and daughter shred battle.
  22. I supposed Sigh should be included, but I want to keep this to amusing/entertainingly nutty, not "OMG WTF?" nutty like Sigh. So, who is your choice for Japan's daffiest? Yes, I am crossing genres. I know that. GS's lunacy is largely derived from Reona but the other girls have their moments too. Still, this video kills me, and it's a live performance, not a music video where you can do retakes. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3iecqt_benjandan_lifestyle Then there's MTH And of course, there's Kyary. I think this one is as insane as Ponponpon, especially the pink shit with sprinkles.

Guitar prodigy Saki from Mary's Blood is the daughter of Show-Ya guitarist Miki "sun-go" Igarashi. Saki sent out a tweet of her with Miki and a caption that read "Mom" with hearts around it about a year ago. Which explains why MB and Show-ya have done so many shows together recently.
