GoreWhore 33 Posted February 18, 2014 For my laptop and Desktop I've been using MusicBee a lot lately as it has many features I want right out of the box and doesn't require much in the way of skinning to make it aesthetically pleasing. I've configured one of my tabs to do a "Downloads Search" by mapping the "sort artist" ID3 tag to a URL search string (I put romaji band names in that field for easy library lookup, same for the sort album and sort title tags, they're very seldom used by anyone I know but oh so useful) For the HTPC I use XBMC Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Don't get me wrong I love JAM, but I felt that I wanted something a little more flexible on my desktop. I still have JAM installed on my laptop though, it's the perfect skin for laptops. Although this one isn't very complicated, just drag and drop a few folders, activate Columns UI and then configure a few more standard settings in the player like media library and all that. Lestat 2167 Posted January 27, 2016 I've decided to start using foobar2000 as a secondary media player for the metal which I listen to. I have held back on downloading a lot of releases because I didn't want to add any of it to my iTunes because it would've become too cluttered, and it's already slow with the hundreds of Visual Kei releases I have in there. So I finally managed to install a decent-looking skin and I am fairly pleased with it. I would like to see a separate list of all artists so as to increase browsing but I can't exactly seem to figure out how.
