hope they're already drafting new music meanwhile.

shame for not including the making of direngrey clone out of 12012 (but I guess that stuff is worth a dedicated blu-ray documentary itself)

a bit more of the details are up on a band's Facebook page.

In solitude, aggravation and desperation ---- still they take the stage.

Footage documenting the six months from their European tour that kicked off in August 2011, up to the Osaka-jo Hall show in January 2012 will be released back to back in 2 consecutive months! See DIR EN GREY abroad where they are faced with challenges day in and out, and in Japan where you are transported back to time of their nationwide tour, see them backstage and also on stage in their all new live footage from their recent shows. See them like you have never seen them before overcoming hardship, and see them only on this documentary. Follow DIR EN GREY on their journey from the time they decided as a band to take the hard road leading up to the present.

Dum Spiro Spero didn't flop...lol

A matter of opinion (the way those fans name it..."metal record of the year", that just makes me cringe and do major headdesks)

I wonder why I...we should even look forward to this release -documentaries are not the thing they are supposed to do now, or are they going to kaisanize? Explain people pls.

what's the point of constant whining about how bad the band is?

just asking. really.

because they used to be pretty awesome, and all the recent news are making me cringe.

Dum Spiro Spero didn't flop...lol

not in the diengreystan universe, but it did elsewhere:

it sold worse than the fucking TMOAB, but they obviously earned a billion dollars off the $ 15 american edition.

So, now I really hope the "Limited Edition 3DVD" and the "Blu-ray 1 DISC" will be the same edition, but in different format. I really hope they aren't meaning that if you want all material you must buy both the Limited Edition DVD and the Blu-ray release... What's the point in releasing a Blu-ray if everything is not included?

I know a DVD needs to have more discs than the Blu-ray (that's probably why Blu-ray is only 1 disc and DVD is 3 discs/2discs), but how about that "+ 1 bonus disc" for the "Ltd Ed" DVD?

And of course.... 8000yen for each one. FUCK OFF I can't afford it, I haven't even bought the UROBOROS Live Blu-ray release they released in January, yet... :(

Wow, I heard MOO sold bad, but worse than TMOAB? It's fun to see my favourite albums of theirs ranked in the top 4. What I don't get is that it SEEMS they're getting more popular with their new audience (with the harder sound) so I thought that they were only getting more fans, but it seems I wasn't the only one reluctant to buy a copy because I don't like their current direction.

I find the Oricon position thing funny, specially because the album didnt sell as much as the other Dir en grey albums, but it did get a higher position than many other Dir en grey albums. lol

Gauze sold out well due to Yoshiki factor but other sale number positions actually make sense - as with Sai, my favorite releases are on the top (which makes me happy, to be honest)

here's where an upcoming DVD thread went straight into 'how bad the MOO was' discussion :)

Alrightey then, we will carry on in DEG thread --->

That's why it's silly to judge popularity based on that ranking. Record sales in general have gone down A LOT in recent years. If you look at the ranking and number of appearances on the charts, it's stayed pretty much the same, even though the number of units sold is way smaller. That's because everyone's sales are getting smaller.

Post wouldn't post so:

1. We're comparing albums that came out as long ago as 13 years against an album that came out not even a year ago. That makes sense.

2. Dir en grey, like many Japanese bands that reach a wider international audience, received a decrease in sales overtime. Shocking? No they ditched a fad and short term sales.

3. Their claim to fame in Japan was Garden, their world renowned fame is two back to back albums Uroboros and Dum Spiro Spero.

4. Local sales (Japan) have dropped, international sales have surged (especially with increased focus and exposure of the band)

Opinions are for the weak and stupid.

> In no1currsanymore solitude, sales aggravation and MOO flopping induced desperation ---- still they take the stage.

How much have Uroboros and Dum Spiro Spero sold overseas? Last time I checked Uroboros was still in the lead.

Edit. Oh, the discussion moved elsewhere.

3. Their claim to fame in Japan was Garden I'll, their world US renowned fame (Uroboros didn't even have notable charts in Europe, unlike Withering to death and it's early Finnish chart position for instance) is two back to back albums Uroboros and Dum Spiro Spero (nothing's changed after Uroboros in terms of fame).

Fix'd and discussion moved elsewhere, thnku.
