DESPAIR new album "Numbered Children" release

Recommended Posts

Japanese industrial unit (now Rieu solo project) Despair's new album will be released sometime in the summer. Its title will be NUMBERED CHILDREN, and will feature the artwork of Polish avantgarde photographer Slawomir Rumiak.

Prototype versions of 8 songs can be listened to at the official myspace site.

I can't wait!!! This has gotta be one the best news of the year for me. :bunny:

Yes, the vocalist girl, Ana passed away about three years ago.

Good news. Didn't really like Rewired Riot Technology too much but Deserted Technology Riot is gold! And yes, Ana committed suicide shortly before the release of the second Darker Waters V.A. although she had already left Despair by then anyway. I'm guessing that JUDE departed somewhere between then and now if Despair is a Rieu solo project. Either way I wouldn't shut down this new album just yet. I think Rieu has had enough time to grieve the loss of his friend and then progress Despair to be a completely different band without Ana.

At least I hope.

^ My guess is that he just renamed them (but maybe there are some completely different ones too).

By the way, concerning the title of track 04, S-94 is also the title of the cyberpunk short film Rieu composed the music for (as Despair solo unit)... so maybe that track will have something to do with the movie or its music thematically (at least that's my guess).

Awww March is too far away~~

Kinda concerns me that it might be bad materials issues

that making it postponed several times.

Or someone just got way too perfectionist

grrr, crap! may is too far away...

Kinda concerns me that it might be bad materials issues that making it postponed several times.

doubt that, when the myspace was still up one could listen more or less to the whole thing (labeled as "prototype"-versions) and it was excellent!

could have been released right away like that... (i should punch myself for not having at least ripped the myspace-tracks when i had the chance to)
