I find it odd that they haven't posted the album art of chimera anywhere but the OHP.
    A pretty small one though.

That feel when you read something really fucking stupid and you go "Who's this douche... Oh it's me from four years ago".

Very disappointing to see how they went straight to the alt rock deep end with this album. Sempiternal seemed like the rare occurrence of a band that's in the verge of totally selling out to find a comfort zone that made almost everyone happy. I'm no musical reactionary by any means and my suggestion for them wouldn't have been to "play that heavy shit" again, but there most certainly were other places to take that sound they got than just straight up 2015 BMTH plays: Linkin Park.
There are moments in'ere when I'll be able to zone out and dig songs like Oh No, Drown and Doomed... But fucking hell when when something like Blasphemy comes up and I can just feel my spine cracking from the chills because it's just so fucking lame.

Nevertheless the first two are quintessential scene classics beyond reproach, monuments of an age gone by, and there'll never be a time when I'm drunk and can't lose my mind to Pray For Plagues. As long as Chelsea Smile stays in the set I'll be seeing them live again in November.

Kind of ended up really liking That's the Spirit but it's not able to make me forget about Sempiternal. I'm fairly sure they'll never be able to surpass the greatness of that album for me. Fave tracks are Run, Throne, and Drown though.

Been with them since they released their first album (was also around the time I saw them live for the first time) but I've never cared much for Count Your Blessings. I guess it was a fine album live, back when he could still do it live, but to listen to it's just a mess.

I can get the idea that people want them to go back to their older self but to ask for another Count Your Blessings while the gap in music style hasn't ever been bigger just comes over as a little child demanding its sweets to be from one specific store which has gone bankrupt years back. The whining won't stop and they'll never be satisfied either. Just move on.

Either way, got my tickets for their upcoming show here and considering it's been a few years since I've been able to see them live, I'm curious.

Ебена мать am i right? No ok.

BUT YEAH, this release is just right. Like not having work on a friday and getting stoned at 7:00 am outside in the morning mist. It's just right ok? ok. Although I really wish Tsuzuku's clean vocals would go back to how they sounded when Mejibray was better I really love this release and his voice in this release. パラダイム・パラドックス, the title track didn't really appeal to me at first, but as I gave it a few more listens....the shit bangs. Crazy right....I actually love this single.....what is wrong with me? NOTHING LOL BOI WTF U THOUGHT MEJIBRAY PUT THEIR THINKING CAPS ON WHEN THEY MADE THIS LITTLE NUMBER. I actually like the harsh vocals in the beginning, it's pretty amp, along with the low singing and the growling. The fucking chorus is nice, like I said and will continue to say....I miss his old vocals yeah but hey he can hit some nice ass keys. One thing I don't like though is MiA's solo's...they all seem to sound the same these days...we get it MIA you can fucking shred like a spin dash across grass but listening to you shred all the damn time like you snorted a unemployment  line of coke is kinda boring....and the fact that he's always wearing the same outfit. Meto is on point like always tho cause meto is bae. Koichi's bass lines are coherent and thick as always. The track ends abruptly though so it's kinda weird at the end. Onto Victim(Ism)...oh god this is so delicious...its so fucking cute and fun it actually made me want to dance. It's mellow tones and it's progression is to be admired....this song feels very nostalgic and old school Mejibray-ish. An instant classic, I actually want more tracks like these, no crazy failed vibrato, no unfitting pig rape squealing, no cocaine shredding. Just something that sounds like it should be in a video game or something. NEGATOR TIME LMAO...(This is gonna be in all caps so yeah, forgive me while i fucking gush over this) THIS TRACK IS JUST MNGHHHHHH, THE WAY IT STARTED OFF FUCKING BLEW ME AWAY I WAS HEADBANGING ALL OVER MY ROOM (small as it may be..). It's so aggressive, it's so guttural sounding, its heavy, and I like it. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want more tracks like this and Victim(ISM). Over all I believe this and VENOMS.app are Mejibray comebacks...they are placing out solid material. I really didn't care for Eiki but Nepenthes, パラダイム・パラドックス, and VENOMS...especially VENOMS are diamonds. I'm hyped for SECRET NO.3, so yeah *buys a ticket and boards the Meji-Train* bye bye now  <3 xoxoxoxxo

OTHER THAN THAT ENJOY THIS REVIEW!           Whilst I am not really that much of a NB fan myself I felt that this live dist was fucking amazing! It's bold, it's brash and doesn't fit in the trash. But in all seriousness, I enjoy this song, it's powerful and angry and there's plenty of Hiro's trademark wild screaming and Cazqui's riffs. The distorted guitar whine is here too along with a pretty cool breakdown at the end, the chorus ain't bad neither. Its addictive to playback over and over, I just love it when he says In My Head. It's so mystifying, I wouldn't mind if they made more songs like these, but then again that'd get old fast wouldn't it. Eh oh well, what can you do? I wish I could've made it longer but meh it's NB I cant really say much bout them anyway.

Now, after much positive feed back that the new album got, i decided to give it a spin. Well now i have to say, that some of their new shit ain't half bad. This is just a first impression though, but they seem to have improved a lot from their first album, which was terrible due to their lack of skill in pretty much everything. Now there's something at least some what interesting happening most of the time, and they have a crap load of energy. We'll see if i'll start to either like, or dislike this in the future.
Edit: Shitty band is still shitty. Why did i ever thought their stuff was not bad i do not know. The drummer plays with one hand, the guitarists suck and i don't think they have a bass player. Also their solo's are worth mentioning since they are fucking terrible ( for example on " Black List " eww ).

Yeah this album was probably their weakest. It's just a mediocre album at it's best. At one point these guys were one of the few Japanese bands around who were doing the rock/metal thing with electronic music any justice. Unfortunately it seems they dropped the whole metal thing on this album and they overdid it with the electronica. Nobody needs an even crappier version of Fear And Loathing In Vegas.

Actually I feel the band isn't quite sure which direction to head or is trying to follow trends. Their first ep was awesome as well as the follow up singles, their debut was ok as they went a little soft, but then they struck a balance on their 2nd album and now they went way too soft. So the band has a pattern of cycling from heavy to less heavy with every release. Come on guys, decide already. Can't tell if they have an identity crisis or are trying to cash in by going soft and trying to appeal to a wider audience.

There are a few songs I like from this release, but I find the majority of the album to be filler and it really affects the replay value. Also not a fan of the production at all. Way too harsh in the upper frequencies and not enough low end or body.

I still enjoy this band, and will continue to keep up with them but I hope they get it together.

So far, ARTEMA have been doing a good job of retaining their pre-major label electronicore leanings mixed with melodic pop. Their debut album proved they could tone things down without losing their unique sound, and their second showed us they weren't afraid to go even heavier while they mixed it up with the big boys. I had every expectation ARTEMATE PARTY would follow a similar route and continue to build off of ARTEMA's staple "Kiracore" style.

As it turns out, I was wrong about that. ARTEMATE PARTY brings us back, possibly with even more pop arrangements, to their self-titled release territory. This one offers a more mature sound, but it also feels more reserved at the same time. The problem here is that they took away aspects of themselves that stood out from the plethora of radio ready electronic rock that is overrunning the airwaves right now. It has them blending too much into their competition. And as an added side effect, it also made their new songs sound way too much like each other.
"Fighting Dreamer" is an opener that's pretty typical for ARTEMA's major singles. Like the ones before it, it stays in the electronic rock field with a breakdown thrown in for added spice. The breakdown itself isn't all that neck-breaking or original, and it's awkwardly cleaved against the following guitar solo. This also keeps everything fairly tame. But the video is fun, and you do get the general idea of what ARTEMA are about. In the past, a single like this would be the lightest and most straightforward song on the album. That is not the case here. The painfully repetitious "Starting Over" along with blatant Fear, in Loathing in Las Vegas worship in "ROLL OUT" stay fairly mellow as well. I single these songs out because in the context of the album they begin to sound like unnecessary filler. One of the other issues is that they expose the melodic limitations of vocalist, Meg. He's a wonderful screamer, but his singing range is limited, and the more melodic ARTEMA become, the more he relies on extremely similar vocal arrangements. This cluster of tracks are a glaring representation of this. As well as the closing track, "ONE -Let It Die-" which is especially unmemorable, so much that it takes away from the entire album due to its placement.

But don't get me wrong, ARTEMATE PARTY is not all bad, it just takes a little time to get the party officially started. "Trade Off" and "TAKE ME OUT" in succession do have a good energy about them with fun atmosphere. They also set up "FLY HIGH" to come in and finally work a nice blend of what's popular with what ARTEMA know how to do well. The catchy vocal melody is great for singing along, and it works in harmony with the punchy drum beat to get people jumping. This song is perfect to tear up a live house. "INFINITE PARTY" builds right off of that sentiment as it fuses some legit house music into electrocore and results in one of the first "big drop"/hardcore breakdowns I've ever heard out of the Japanese scene. The rest of the track may not be anything new, but the breakdown alone is worth giving it a spin.

Not only did the band push a harder techno vibe with some of the songs, they even tread into nu-metal territory with "Stronger" incorporating a rap-style vocal delivery. The record as a whole has a much more modern pop feel than previous works. ARTEMA are coming to a crossroads and trying to work on expanding their arsenal of genres, but the direction of ARTEMATE PARTY suffers from being a bit lost in the process. Even with all the filler, the band doesn't sound as if they are losing any of their fighting spirit just yet. Though this might have been much stronger as an EP with leftover b-side material, in the end. I worry many old school fans won't have a strong reaction to this album, as they may be holding a candle for their heavier side much like I do. However, a few of the tunes have "grower" potential, so it's definitely an album they should give an honest chance.

I find myself a bit underwhelmed by DOGMA after all, the midsection of the album is to blame - it gets sort of weaker after how good the album starts. Don't get me wrong though, it's the best album they've ever recorded along with NIL and DIM and light years better than Beautiful Deformity. But I had high expectations that were above of what the album actually provides. Aside from that the album is solid af, goes HARD as hell. Now I just need more spins in order to figure out what just happened.

Spent the entire night listening to DOGMA and I can honestly say that it is the GazettE's best album since DIM. The creativity and intensity behind majority of these songs is extremely noteworthy. I was taken by surprise during my listen. There's hints of previous work as well as fresh new elements that make a lot of these new songs shine. Even the songs that I don't like as much have their moments. While the instrumentalists are of course badass on this record (URUHA.....BRUH), major props to Ruki.....he was the weakest link on Beautiful Deformity but turned around and did his thing on DOGMA.   Also, just like i suspected, there was not a song that surpassed DEUX. It's how i feel about Dir en grey's RINKAKU, they will never make a song as perfect as that ever again.   The wait was worth it. Right now this the album of the year to beat. (SIKE. KALAFINA's NEW ALBUM IS PROB GONNA BLOW THIS OUT THE WATER LOLOL). 9/10.   Highlights: DEUX. OMINOUS. RAGE (surprisingly awesome). Deracine.    A lot of the other songs need more listens but I'm sure my highlights list will increase in a few days.

LUCY and GRUDGE are like a generic song itself, but I do enjoyed those a bunch tbh.
    7/10 - 7,5/10
DOGMA is the song I less really appreciate in the end. Probably I need to have a little more to listen.

I marked it as a review just to keep some poor sap from clicking it thinking that it's the DL topic.

Didn't feel like waiting so here's some first impression that are likely to more or less remain as the final ones, because there's nothing really to particularly digest here for a seasoned gazette veteran - I would also be lying if I said that I didn't play the leaks multiple times throughout the course of the last few days. Imagine a ginormous abbreviated in my opinion in the beginning just in case I'll end up flip-flopping completely.

It's still the same Gazette on this album as the last one and the one before that. The riffs are still by all intends and purposes Gazette riffs, Ruki's still the same Ruki he's been since 2010 and drawing parallels between the BD and Dogma songs is very easy, but Dogma's thing is that everything has been jacked up. Ruki compensates the lull he's been for years now with the screams and growls he started using last year, while the music is undoubtedly their heaviest and fastest. I think there's an energy and momentum acquired here that they've been sorely missing from their tracks akin to these especially in the last album. It's conceptual and uncharacteristically thematically consistent for them, and the pace doesn't let up at all with not a single slower number -with the exception of the very last track - or a token ballad taking any space from the overall run time, and to my complete and utter amazement the obnoxious meat headed catastrophes like Psychopath and the below mentioned Beautiful Deformity songs are completely absent. It's their darkest and heaviest overall, also unarguably their corniest - but it's not really a bad thing because I think it has helped Dogma to be more fun than their other recent discography.

So regarding the general quality of work here, if you think some of the songs from here are bad then check out some of the bangers from the last one like THE STUPID TINY INSECT or whatever the one with the long name near the end was; those songs are so unfathomably banal it makes me wonder just how on earth did I ever give a passing grade to the album. It's the little improvements they've done here that keep the bar from ever ascending to the levels of their absolutely worst, although I wouldn't be caught dead ranking this as their best either.

At the end of the day it is an album full of the 2010's Gazette live bangers taken to the very extreme they'll probably ever be able to take it to. So even now when in effort to do this they've added a little metalcore to their bag of tricks, their own identity on this album is still unmistakable and these songs really couldn't be from any other band; this however is perhaps their greatest weakness also. A The Gazette song is such an established thing you can rest assured they're never ever going to divert from the set formula. I couldn't by any means call this album ambitious or anything of the sort, like as if they couldn't even sneak a few over the top breakdowns and shit in there somewhere? No they couldn't, because that's just not what The Gazette apparently does. Gazerock is a thing and I have my money on that not changing. However it does seem like they can slightly improve the facets of the things they are already doing. Even though a return to The Gazette of yore is what I hold the closest to my heart and I far prefer them being sappy instead of edgy, I'd like to think this album seems to like an essential step towards whatever is next. inb4 disbandment.
