  1. Perfect then, so yeah let's keep it really short so that we won't be submerged since I know we have other stuff we want to listen to as well. That works for me! I'd say 5 releases max, and 3 min. And it's gonna be our 2016 honorable mentions then! Hope@Jigsaw9likes the idea, and@Lestattoo!
  2. Count me in, my dear Bear. I really like the idea! I only suggest to shorten our lists to 10 or even less to avoid making it so long, which I think would take a lot of time. As for me, I think I might come up with my honorable mentions of 2016 rather than my actual top 10, which I think would make discover more stuff knowing I already posted my top in here. But I'm still not sure about it. Come on guys, it'll be fun!
  3. Yeah it's so great, the bass is a lil more boosted on the demo but it's all good. I like that shit, will try to get the album even though I think I saw it was sold out on their bandcamp page? Idk. Did it! I'm listening the demo as we're talking, amazing Thy Mighty Contract worship tbh. That EP is phenomenal. I'm glad I've discovered them, thanks! EDIT: Just lemme say that the bass on 'Beyond the Cursed Lines ' is absolutely fucking bloody incredible. W o w.
  4. @Jigsaw9Finally managed to listen that Shaarimoth album, it's sooo good. Gets better after each track!! It's very likely that I'll be getting to it again. @Bear Is 'Seven Nights' the demo you're talking about? If so then I loved both the EP and the demo, brilliant stuff. Has a huge re-listening value tbf. I remember you praising that CoF album when it came out, you teased my curiosity by including it in your top 15 so I'm gonna check it out one of these days! Also was interested to check out that Thangorodrim album., the samples sounded very interesting. Okay hold on, I'm checking this out right away.
  5. It'd be a shame if the lyrics were worth checking out, hope they're not. The sample you posted sounds great! Will make sure to check out the album. @Jigsaw9I'll spin the Shaarimoth album in a few moments! Glad you enjoyed it dude, it's as you said: a really sinister and aggressive sound, almost intimidating. Love it. That Chaos Invocation song sounds brilliant. Since I don't know the band, I'll make sure to check their previous work(s). The album artwork of this new album you're talking about is fucking phenomenal!
  6. ^ You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did hehe. That Shaarimoth album is on my list, will be checking it out soon.
  7. Can't believe I missed something this huge in 2016. What a debut album this is! Black/death metal done right.

It really depends on the musical genre, the type of the CD and how the band delivers, therefore the musical quality of an album. Personally, a shitty ~30 minutes album will seem endless torture to me till I decide switching to listen something else. As well as a +100 minutes long-ass album will seem short to me if I enjoy it and the music is pure gold. So yeah, it really depends. But in general, something between 40-60 minutes is perfect to me.

Probably, can't say. Well, I mean I really enjoyed the acoustic version of Gone but The Story didn't really amaze me tbf. Of course we do, btw I absolutely love the original versions so yeah! Haha. As you're speaking about Masato's vocals, I absolutely loved how he improved and with Vena he really reached a huge level. Really impressive. Yeah, it's not easy to get their stuff without paying a ridiculous amount of money. That's why one should cease the chance when they're touring overseas.

Yep! Check this out: http://assets.teamrock.com/image/b202542b-37f8-4001-85ee-e871171d275e?w=800 They're young and they've already accomplished some great stuff, I'm sure you will be able to see them again and very soon, I hope! I enjoyed Born to Bleed, even though I'm not totally fond of the two acoustic versions.

Will do for sure! I heard it's really worth paying to see them live, I'm curious as hell. They headlined in Europe the last time they came btw, which is pretty huge tbh. Respect to them, they're going places the right way and the best way. Need a new album from them asap.
  12. Visutox

Did a research but couldn't find a thread about the band, I'm shocked. Haven't seen them live yet, but I'll certainly do the next time they'll be touring in Europe. Their latest album is bloody amazing and so is their discography. My fav albums are probably Vena and The Revelation + all their mini-albums.
  13. That Napoleon album is fucking great! I absolutely love the technical side of it. Fantastic album from start to finish. Also enjoyed the Architects one even though the production makes the album sound very homogeneous, if I may say so. A very good one nonetheless! Memento Mori is clearly the highlight of the album to me, what a freaking masterpiece that is.

A reason why I love tops is that they're always different and it allows me to discover albums/bands I never heard of. And the potential discoveries on this one are huge! It feels so good to see someone else giving the due credit to Triangle, as the album deserves. One of the greatest releases in 2016 (clearly the best, for me) and one of the most overlooked ones. Also glad to see Moonsorrow and Spellcaster on your top! As for Kodama, I couldn't get into it after the first spin (even though it was undeniably good) so I'll be re-listening to it very soon. Great and very well displayed top!

I'm not the only one that thought the exact same thing, then. Tried to defend OOR the same way I did with Giru but when they went somewhat pop-ish, it felt like in the next album they'd try something else (and hell, they surely did. that's my giru). Sadly I don't feel the same way about OOR... it's so obvious that they're going for the easy way. They seem lost in easiness. I really hope I'm wrong though, I really hope so. And if this what they want, well then, I surely won't be following them on their journey.
  16. That Shokran album is definitely a good one yeah! It has more clean vocals than their debut album but that didn't really bother me (saw a lot of ppl complaining about it). Actually I enjoyed the clean vocals on Exodus. Overall, the album sounds more sophisticated than their debut imo.

I'm pretty sure that Ambitions will make 35xxxv seem like a masterpiece. I still will be checking out the album for the sake of it.
  18. Finally listened Coven. Well, I can't exactly give a proper opinion on the album even though it made me want to re-listen it. I enjoyed it as long as it kept me hooked. It is really a difficult listening due to its length but it's definitely something interesting and worthy of your time. Need to familiarize myself with their sound a little more. Will be back on it in my future posts.
  19. ^ Have a good feeling about that one, will check it out.
  20. Absolutely! They didn't only release one of the best albums of 2016 but they've also did two amazing covers. Loved this one too, colossal tribute to RC. A full cover album would be great yeah! And yeah, Fimbulwinter was one of my fav albums that came out in 2014. Need to re-listen it though, kinda forgot how it sounded like. Gutted about the bad news from Vektor. Hoping things will turn out well for Dave and the band. Btw, just noticed I haven't posted my top albums of 2016 (when ironically I was the one who asked y'all to post it haha) 15. Anaal Nathrakh 14. Wormed 13. Insomnium 12. Hypno5e 11. SAOR 10. Fleshgod Apocalypse 9. Witherscape 8. Ade 7. Brymir 6. Départe 5. 兀突骨 (Gotsu Totsu Kotsu) 4. Khemmis 3. Moonsorrow 2. Ulcerate 1. Schammasch
  21. RIP. Some great artists passed away this year, just horrible.
  22. ^ Same. Hoping to hear some interesting and somewhat different stuff from the recent releases. Just listened the new Gotsu Totsu Kotsu. Holy shit. Man. 65 minutes of amazing death metal, with some fucking sick bass-lines and mental riffages. I absolutely love it, didn't hesitate to put it on my top 10 which I'll be posting today or in the next few days.

http://www.last.fm/user/Visutox/listening-report/year Hard to guess who's my fav band. lol it's been a great year for music in general and also for me, discovered a lot of stuff even though I feel like I could have explored more genres.

Anyone here watching Zoo? Started that tv show when the first season was almost finished airing and I enjoyed it a lot despite lacking of some coherence and a few characters being awful at acting. It started getting better and better and the 2nd season is really good, the characters are all awesome. I'm glad I started watching this. Can't wait for the next episode of Vikings, the progression of events are kinda slow but I'm sure shit's going to get serious very soon hehe. Also stoked for the next episode of Gotham coming up in January. Can't wait, it's going to be awesome. Amazing tv show! Will probably start watching the second season of Narcos in the next few days too.
  25. Never heard of Aborym before and I couldn't avoid laughing at how this cover sucks. Started well to me but after the intro they literally screwed it up.
