We could add their self-titled album to this, can't we? I feel like everyone dislikes it, but I really like it.

Not Japanese, but I would kill to get my hands on the "blood filled" Friday the 13th vinyl that was released some years ago. See through vinyl with moving red liquid inside. Probably the sexiest lp I've ever seen. So smooth!

Is it? Isn't Macabre pretty much universally loved among the fans, and generally considered a VK classic?

I'd say Missa, tho. Love it.

Bear got a reaction from ghost in If you can join the band, which band do you want to join?Position?
I can't play any instruments, I can't sing or anything like, so I'd like to join someone that's already shit so I won't be the reason why the suck. Bands like (the current state of) The Gazette, as well as Deathgaze, Nocturnal Bloodlust and Deviloof and so on would be perfect as I can't make them sound any worse no matter what instrument I take up. Fuck, chances are, even though I can't play guitar, bass or drums, I would make them sound a bit better if I did pick up any of those instruments and played for these bands.

Would not like to join anyone good or decent, or just listenable, as I would just make them less good.

It does, but the similarity ends there IMO. These VK prettyboiz uses it for shock value or just because it actually looks good/cool whatever, and probably with a poor understanding of the subject. While the black metal musicians actually lives these lives and wholeheartedly believes in the ideology behind it all, and knows a shitload of the history behind it.

Why not? I've had several friends with benefits and it's been pure joy for both parts with no problems or drama whatsoever. As long as both parts are on the same page and share similar views of how it should be, chances of having a bad experience is pretty low un my experience.

The full new Batushka album from Krzysztof Drabikowski. Sounds like more of the same as the debut, and that's cool enough. Probably not gonna play this quite as much as I did the debut when it was released, but it's good.

    New Denial of God track.

Now this is gonna be awesome. Vothana was formed in 2003,  released 15 demos, four EPs and a split from 03 to 08, and now, after 11 years of silence, he's back with his debut album. This is gonna be aweomse. Grim and epic black metal in the vein of Moonblood, Vlad Tepes, Lycanthropy's Spell and more. Will probably be among the highlights of the year for me personally.

Bear got a reaction from Miku70 in When does an artist become a rip off of another artist?
This is a hard one IMO. I don't know how it is in the VK scene, but in metal and punk  and so on its not unsual at all to "steal" music, from just a riff to almost entire songs, or hell, even a bands complete sound, just to pay tribute to artists and bands. And they're not considered rip off at all. But I think it has to do with how it's done, how open the bands are about their influences and so on. But it's hard to draw the line where a band goes from a rip off to a tribute band, and vice versa.

And while I have enver read an interview with Grieva, I just don't consider them a rip off. To me they come off as an original tribute band (along the lines of Disclose, Warhammer and so on). Where their only mission is to recreate something great that was lost as time went on. But what do I know?

Warhammer spent years and years to hunt down the right equipment so that they could re-create the guitar tone, bass sound and drum sound of Hellhammer. Their covers could also have been Hellhammer cover. But they're never considered a rip off, but an original tribute band. And i think this comes down to how open they are about it. They just want to continue what Hellhammer started.

Same with Japanese d-beaters Disclose. Everything about their releases are Discharge influenced. Only fuzzier, nastier and wilder sounding. But again they're a band that were opena bout paying their tributes to their favourite band.

And I honestly feel like this is the case with a band like Grieva, but as I have never read an interview with them I don't really know.

Håhåhå! Holy shit guys, Gaahl and co did it. This is just out of this world. Original, atmospheric, epic, grim and dark. A truly unique approach to the pagan side of black metal. Sounds like a mix between Trelldom's classic masterpiece Til et annet... and Helheim's last album, Rignir, which also happens to be a very original sounding album. Well, I can also hear a bit of influence from other new Helheim albums. But that's awesome. A must hear, guys!

Bear got a reaction from Jigsaw9 in Last movie you saw.
Watching movies and I am getting so tired of all this wacky CGI use now. It's incredible how Jurassic Park (1993) still looks better than both Jurassic World (2015) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018),  despite the fact that the CGI has come a long, long, long way since then. It's all about how they used it, how they mixed it with practical effects and how and when they chose to use it. Probably the best example ever is the T-Rex shot in Jurassic Park. They didn't just throw it out there, they really thought about it. Having it dark and rainy made the whole task so much easier to make it look good, and it still looks incredible. Is there even a decent shot in Jurassic World or Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom where the dinosaurs actually look threatening, scary and real? Heeeell naw!

And this also sums up why movies like Avengers: Endgame and Alita: Battle Angel already look dated, despite being out for only a few months. They use of CGI are fucking disgusting.

If you want another disgusting example: Take a look at how Black Panther looks when fighting in his suit in Captain America: Civil War, as opposed to how he looks when fighting in his suit in Black Panther. How you ever wondered why he looked so awesome when fighting in Civil War, and why he looks so fucking awful when fighting in his own Black Panther movie? Three letters: CGI!

In Captain America: Civil War you have a guy in a black suit, a stuntman, actually doing stunts. So the physics is spot on. It's real. They just glossed up his suit and shit, but they didn't make him CGI. So they didn't fuck up any of the physics.

In Black Panther it's just CGI, and because the CGI is still far from being perfected they still haven't managed to master physics and so on. They're just cartoons fighting, and they're light and can do whatever the fuck they want. It doesn't look OK at all. Compare the non-suited Black Panther vs Killmonger with the later fight where both are in a suit. Just look at the difference.

So annoying, and what's more are all the people in the world who actually consider this to be good looking and a fine thing to do. Open your eyes, use them and just think for a second. Christ almighty.

Fun album indeed. While I might not praise it as much as the media are doing atm (I see 10/10, 6/6 and 5/5 everywhere), I can actually understand it. Not quite on par with their earlier albums, but doesn't stand back to their previous three albums. Fun, enjoyable, catchy.

I might have to go with Ausländer as the best track off the album. Sounds like a mix of Laibach and Rammstein gone EDM.

What if he goes out to get laid or just find a girl to take to in a club or bar and suddenly sees her sister in the same club? Because that's basically the same shit, and unless you're a bit of a freak and perverts there should be no problems. You just don't hit on your sister. Problem solved. Same with tinder. You just dislike your sisters profile and continue looking for whatever you look for.

I don't like the whope business behind ut, but I don't mind the music. It's no different from pop from other countries, language aside. I rarely find albums I listen to from A to Z tho. There's usually way too many fillers, just like on pop albums from other countries.

Awful fan base, just like the jrock ajd visual kei fandom, jpop fandom and so on. No difference whatsoever.

Gargoyle's awesome indeed. Especially their older albums. I highly recommend Doom for fans of Gargoyle. Another progressive thrash band, albeit they lean a bit more towards avant-garde and weirdness than Gargoyle. The band have had members and ex-members from bands such as Gastunk, Shellshock, Casbah, Terror Squad and motherfucking Zadkiel. In 85 they even had Yoshiki playing some drums for them live. If you're into "weird" and different thrash like Voivod, Vektor, Gargoyle, Lob of Lemmings or even
Celtic Frost's "Into the Pandemonium" this is a must-hear band.

By far their best song since Hellfire. This is actually pretty good again. It's such a shame Frost is wasting his talent in Satyricon, because when he's allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants and play fast he's such a machine. Stellar drumming!

Did you watch it on HBO, or did you download it? HBO Nordic is known for their poor quality which resulted in a lot of complaint here in Norway, but I downloaded it and had no problems whatsoever.  Used to own an HBO Nordic account, but quit it because the quality was so bad. 1080 downloads are just miles better.

And that's the general thought over here. People who streamed it legally on HBO Nordic could barely see shit, while those who downloaded the episode didn't have any issues.
