  1. I wish I could be happy about Nile, but I just can't and especially not newer Nile. No dynamic, no feeling, and the band sound so flat, especially on their last four albums. I cannot think about many death metal bands which is as uninteresting as Nile post-In Their Darkened Shrines.

Swedish blogger Paula Dahlberg have gone to the media and complained about how beige adhesive bandage is racist. She also mentiones other types of band-aid, pantyhose and underwear as being racist. All hail this super smart übermensh! All hail PAULA DAHLBERG!
  3. Demonaz has today reviled that Immortal is not dead and that him and Horgh is continuing and have a few songs ready. I expect Demonaz to be the vocalist, Horgh the drummer and either or both Ice Dale and King of Hell om guitars and bass. Hope they find someone else to handle the guitars and bass though.

So October is slowly getting near and as October i my official horror month I have started to plan a bit ahead and am looking for some recommendations. This year I'll divide the month in 5-6 parts and will stay away from rewatching films except for Halloween. 1-4th October: Giallo 5-11th October: Splatter 12-18th October: Slasher 19-25th October: Haunted House/Old Dark House films 26-30th October: Random post-2005 horror films 31st October: Halloween Or something like that. Don't hesitate with the recommendations, guys. And I will most likely watch several horror films on several days so I will need more than 30 for sure.

Always thought Kai was the weakest link of the band, and I still think so even though Ruki is doing everything in his power to grab that title from him.

Damn, just discovered their MTV unplugged stuff on video. The concert sure needs a proper release because these versons sounds fantastic despite Freddy Lim's very limited vocals. But he sings with passion and heart and that's all that's is needed.
  7. Judging from the previews that's pretty spot on as expected. What a shame. I won't judge the album before I've heard it, but judging from the previews alone this will be another rather poor Gazette album not worth getting. It's such a shame what this band turned into after the release of Gama.

Spiritual Kung Fu - An early Jackie Chan film by genius martial arts drector Lo Wei. Far from either Jackie Chan or Lo Wei's best film, but I liked it. Jackie Chan plays a type of character he played a lot during his early years, and the plot is fairly generic. However, I did like the whodunit-element in this film which totally worked in my eyes. But the film is incredibly goofy at time with some silly-looking "ghosts" turning up and acting up. The comedic elements doesn't work too well here though. But the fights are well-choreographed, and the last fight is nothing short of spectacular, and the ghosts comes to their own right in that fight. Not their best, but this is well-worth seeing for fans of either old school Jackie Chan, Lo Wei or just martial arts maniacs. The film lands on a 7,5 for me. Good stuff. Have a look at Jackie in this picture. That face! The ghosts:
  9. So Cult of Fire seemed to play THE concert of the year this weekend at Brutal Assault. Had an own stage built just for them, an own opening act in form of ibetian munks who performed some kind of a shamanic, ritualistic throat singing or something, with lots of incense and pyro and their own funeral pyre on the stage. It will apparently be eleased on VHS. If so, a must have! But these guys just doesn't play around. They don't pretend to be a band. And must-see live band for anyone interested in concerts. You don't have to like their music, but this is a band that should be experienced live. THey're on the same level as bands such as Ghost and Rammstein for sure. Offering something very unique and cool.

No, not at all. Some of my co-workers are sobloody boring. They're the kind of people I'll never have any contact with outside of work. Not a chance. Some of the shit they do as well. Incredible.

I was swinging on a "UFO swing" with a first grader today and joking around. Suddenly the kid got on top of me and started to hugh me. Cool, I don't mind so much. However, I told him to get off as my back was starting to hurt and out of nowhere he liked me in my face. Absolutely disgusting! Ran inside, washed my face and used half a bottle of anti bac, and those bottles are big as fuck. Fucking first graders. There's just so much wrong with them.
  12. Grave Pleasure's New Hip Moon is simply among the best tracks released this year. What a monster track! I cannot get it out of my head, and that chorus is the best thing Beastmilk/Grave Pleasure ever did. Stunning! Crying Wolves is a few steps behind though, but I can't wait for this album.

X Japan a better live band than Ghost, Rammstein, Slipknot and Iron Maiden? Yeah, right.

Haha, yeah. I really like Frankenstein's Monster. You probably noticed, but his facial hair is something... new for him?

I haven't heard the album. I've only heard songs from his two first albums. I was less than impressed with the songs mainly due to Lamar's rapping that just didn't give me anything at all. Thought he lacked a proper attitude and his flow didn't impress me. I don't follow Dr. Dre anymore so I don't know his clique or anything, and I didn't expect it to be filled with old school rappers. But it shouldn't have been hard to find someone a bit more relevant than Eminem, The Game, Kendrick Lamar and some of the others. Or someone who just has a bit more of that old school (and thus mroe fitting) sound to them. But that's just my opinion on it.

Seen The Wire six times, and it still keeps getting better. The Wire is mandatory for anyone with an interest in TV-series. Doesn't matter if you like the series or not, but if you like TV-series, or films for that matter, you should at least have watched through it once. It's mandatory. Simple as that.
  18. You should! I am a proud owner of the film on both DVD and VHS, as well as the soundtrack. Immense stuff! Stylish neo-giallo masterpiece with a phenomenal soundtrack. Haunt down both the film and soundtrack. I doubt you'll regret it. Also, check out Slasher Dave of Acid Witch fame's solo project Slasher Dave. Fantastic horror synth that'll take you back to the 70's and 80's. He's made some soundtracks before (or been involved in some soundtracks). Check Slasher Dave on imdb for more info on that), but he released his first soundtrack as Slasher Dave recently, to a horror comedy called Chubbies. Fantastic soundtrack as everything he's done. You'll find all four os his Slasher Dave releases HERE, as well as other cool stuff. It's really, really good!
  19. Not familiar with Alessandro Paris as far as i know, but Umberto is great, Vercetti Technicolor better and Antoni Maiovvi is nothing short of a genius. His soundtrack for the amazing neo-giallo short Yellow is breathtaking. That's five out of the seven tracks on the EP. It's stunning. A real masterpiece!

So Straight Outta Compton is getting fantastic reviews, but the soundtrack which sees Dr. Dre's "comeback" after 15 years and shit looks awful. Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, The Game and other average-to-poor rappers? Jesus, why? Is that the best he could come up with after 15 years? Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus fucking christ.

Compliance - This film did not live up to the hype IMO. It's based on a real-life happening where someone called a McDonald and pretended to be a cop and got them to strip search and rape a female. They're actually quite spot on with the characters and happening (at least based on the real video and interview that's on youtube), but it's a bit milder than the real-life happening. But I wasn't impressed by the film. It just wasn't entertaining at all. Some good actors, decent direction by Craig Zobel and all that, but it just wasn't interesting enough, disturbing enough or fun enough. It was somewhere inbetween all these, and just didn't work at all for me. Anyway, disappointing film! How the people this film is based on was not thrown in jail for life is beyond me. The actions of Sandra, her boyfriend and 2-3 of the others alone should be enough to sentence the lot to a long time in jail, but the stupidity of them all should be more than enough to keep them there for life. In real life I mean. They're that stupid. Only in America. AMIRITE?

Santo and the Blue Demon vs. the Monsters - Another film with both Santo and Blue Demon, and another disappointment. The film is a lot cooler than Santo vs. Blue Demon in Atlantis, with some proper horror elements and stuff, but it doesn't hold up, which is a shame because it' got all the elements to be a proper cheese-o-rama masterpiece. It starts with some amazing shots of Santo, Blue Demon and the monsters, introducing them to us views. Sure, the lightning in these shots are awful, but it's cool as fuck, and that's what counts. But the story does't hold up. The mad, evil scientist isn't given enough meat on his body, and he's so uninteresting. Who exactly is he, and why is he doing whatever he is doing? Lots of fighting and shit, but it's baically the same fights over and over and over and over again. And Blue Demon gets the same treatment as in Santo vs. Blue Demon in Atlantis. Goes to the bad guys, gets caught and fights Santo and the goodies. Heh. I feel sorry for him. And the lighting is really weird at times. A few scenes changes from day to night to day and to night again for no other reason than everything being really amateurish. Hilarious! However, the monsters are cool as fuck. The make-up is shit, and they look really bad and their movements are very off and stuff, but it works because of the cheese and camp. The monsters here is Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolf-Man, The Mummy, a male and a sexy female vampire, a cyclops and some zombies. Oh, and an evil dwarf who's beyond cool. Awful make-up as said, but the monsters are cool anyway. They save the film to be honest. Campy, cheesy as fuck and entertaining. However, this could and should habe been so much better. The Wolf-Man: Cyclops: The Mummy: Frankenstein's Monster: The Vampire: See what I mean?
