Does anyone with an invisible condition have to spend a ridiculous amount of time convincing people they do have said condition and aren’t faking it? It’s

    exhausting.

Rheumatoid disease + neuropathy. Basically quit explaining after the first year. No longer worth the effort unless it's to prevent danger to others. I get the "wtf" you were just using the left side of your body a minute ago, you sayin' it just don't work now? 🔫. Give me a chisel & hammer and I'll gladly demonstrate on your c6-c7.

I'm so excited to see  Jolyne in action. I can only hope she's better than all the female characters I've seen so far up to part 4 lol Araki sucks at writing women

Yes indeed. I've only read bits and pieces of but I really got into it, Jolyne's the most interesting thing on the market right imo. I'll watch if they finish her however it's sounding like they're taking their time...

Whenever I show VK to someone they either ask if it's Kpop (😭) or if they are anime show promoters (😕), that's where VK is at right now where I'm living.

Pretty much. People hear oh you're into Japanese music? *lists off a dozen obnoxious J/K pop bands* then wants to talk comics. Like really, I've never read a single manga front-to-back and have zero interest your cosplay fanaticism. Your language is night and day from mine. It's likely we have about 3-4 words in common. 🙄

Yah, really all things should be legally regulated and taxed. Booty shakin, drinkin too. I would be surprised if all clubs honestly pay all their taxes though tbh. 😂🎶

Pretty sure I can think of better ways to throw around okane than to pay some random ho to get sloshed. But hey, all in the name of entertainment~

You have to use your brain when dealing with customers but there is nothing intellectual about the host or kyaba industry here tbh. The talking aspect is different to strip etc. In the west but honestly in ways that makes more sense in ways compared to the masochist nature of money spending for a fake relationship with lots of bs talk in between or just wanting to show off.

Clubs here are not really themed but the feel of minami (osaka) compared to kabuki (tokyo) is different and same for countryside too.

I think it's more rational. It's what people do anyway. This way, they tax it 😂

Not innocence, most of those guys are A-holes but hey, that is what the girls pay for haha.

That particular club looks like one of the more loud/obnoxious atmospheres, I heard they have themes based on different districts? I'm from Las Vegas, so Japan host clubs come off as really clean in comparison...despite having little to no substance. I lost my sh*t when she asked him, "what do women do if they love you but can't afford you?" and he's all, "well typically they get a higher paying job."

Our atmospheres here are trashy and the people have zero iq, most are hellbent on stripping/demeaning women and objectifying people. It's a completely different mindset. Japan is one of the few places I've seen the nightlife promote actual intellectual interaction. Anywhere you go there will always be a nightlife/sex industry. It's the level of control society manages to hold and the etiquette they employ that ends up defining the culture.

Yah Osaka is way stronger for sub culture in everything now. Some great bands have started recently there!

Same. The whole prefecture of is sacred as far as I'm concerned haha. Pretty much everything I obsess over comes from Osaka.

At first I thought it was just a coincidence and I was underexposed. But yeah, now I'll  take three days going through new artists, come up with a few new bands out of 50 that take, and they're generally all formed there.

Well, as a fan not living in Japan, band members will dis your ass if a Japanese fan make a problem with you.  Because they never would tell the Japanese fan to shut up. because well, they Japanese fan is more important than you living 100000 of kilometers away, because the Japanese fan will support them by going to the lives and buying band shit.  They even could tell you "I love your support, but because to not having trouble you will be banned from our gig". Even tho they actually have to "ban" that Japanese fan. They only ban "Japanese" fan if they also make trouble to other "Japanese" fan. But they wouldn't protect a gaijin that fast.
So I highly recommend to never ever be a friend with any fan of the band you want to support. If those "bitches" complain, it's almost impossible to win.
    After all it's about money.

That sounds brutal. It makes sense they are going to defend their own women though. Years ago when I first got into the scene, you basically had to be invited to the shows. That was the only way in. It was sketchy for foreigners to even go.

Personally I've found that in western concert culture you can usually stay out of trouble by only talking with people that approach you. There are plenty of ways to not draw attention (stay in the back, be polite, don't feed any drama). I'm sort of curious how these tactics play out in livehouses. Personally I don't want to be anywhere near the furi (I've foreign, the actions look completely delusional to me) but most of the bands I listen to aren't really of that nature anyway, so. I guess I'd be more concerned about being ostracized for being white.

Sadly lots of the real a$$holes are guys who are in bands that do not even write their own music. ex.Vexent guitarist and I work at the same place and he showed me some of his ghostwriter friend's work in the scene and I was surprised by some of the acts, others not so much. Sadly VK has become like idol groups with guitars. that coworker is a douche too tbh, did not care about VK history, just wanted to be like some kind of idol when he was in that band.

That's kinda freaky, about the ghostwriter. I tend to be one that reads credits, but a lot of the new stuff I overlook. Where do you work?

My job has a branch in Tokyo and I'm considering checking it out. I'm heard the worst, how the culture can be seriously fake, how the women get robbed by bandsmen, and how a lot of them don't want day jobs anymore so they more or less turn to alternative means...it's pretty messed up.

  10. Whoa that was...educational!

I'm sure there's a good percentage of bandsmen that are utter douchebags, but. They're onstage creating art...if you can't stomach it, don't pay to get in lol. I suppose I'd be more apt to defend them. They don't deserve to have people attack online and all that jazz, just because followers are catty etc. Gotta respect the business.

I find most of the bangya pretty entertaining, but maybe I'm just a rare breed.

What is this thing about Jojo? I'm booked for the Gallo but honestly he freaks me out (I think thats part of the appeal...) He isn't like dangerous, is he? 🍴🍴🍴🍴
