Oh my god It was only supposed to be a kare** impression...
-
Yeah yeah. Go on ridiculing Kyo, but let me tell you one thing. You don't understand him! You all don't! I know his soul, I translated every lyrics of him, I studied every interview. Don't talk about him like you know his pain! I just can't understand how you can call yourself a "fan" if all you do is making fun of him! He never did anything to you, why do this to him?
-
Of course it did. Don't you remember when after WtD no one ever talked about them anymore? Empty threads everywhere. Dir en grey were so irrelevant, even kar*** gave up on Kyo. And that surely hasn't got anything to do with them quitting VK for good after WtD. No. They were just.. irrelevant.

There's more to a band than PVs and looks, I guess.

>>and considering arche made them a relevant band again<< I must say your trolling abilities are nearly as good as mine

Dat cover.. I think I just stared at this thing for 10 minutes straight. ... ... dope

No, no. I mean REALLY taking time. Dir en grey have toured NON STOP for almost 18 years now. The times in between barely count. And as we could read from their "confessions" (that's basically what they were) they were totally worn out at some time not so long ago. Many bands who existed for as long as Dir en grey have taken times out, gone on hiatus or at least changed members. We, the fans, demand them to release and tour nonstop for our enjoyment. We take for granted that these guys produce art for us like on a fucking assembly line. And we cry around when some can't take it any more, some others just produce shit at the end or some others show signs of resentment. Just imagine. Many of us have lived barely longer than these guys doing music together, until this point. This is incredibly long. I believe people don't think about this often enough. Don't stress them out or just expect them to go on, because that's "just the way it goes". You don't want to have a load of shitty, uninspired releases.. because you're the first ones crying around when it happens. ARCHE was hell of a release. If it was going my way, I'd be pleased with a carreer end like this. I don't need any more .. well but it would be nice
-
They've made a REALLY good album this time. Not that I don't like the previous releases, but ARCHE is just.. impressive. I don't need new material already. Look what it does to bands like Nightmare constantly putting stuff out. I know Deg have label conditions too, but I rather have them take a big breath and coming out with stuff when they're really on it. And after all those down right depressive interviews from members like Shinya or Die... and the fact that they practically NEVER stop touring.. they're good off taking their time from now on. And taking some free time, too.

Oh yeah that's a good docu. Don't regret I watched this although I had to throw out a lot of those discovered bands afterwards.. I'd say Infernal Revulsion and GxSxD were the best ones presented. The others.. well.. not really worth mentioning besides the fact that they're japanese.
-
I wasn't really serious I just don't like Coffins. I'm surprised you didn't mention GOTSU TOTSU KOTSU yet. Basically everything Haruhisa Takahada gets his hands on is awesome in one way or the other. Great Death Metal in the spirit of Bolt Thrower.
-
Ooooohhh I remember Coffins and Gallhammer... I think these were the worst listening experiences of all my life. Comparing Coffins to Celtic Frost man.. that's going too far EDIT Oh now I found it. Magane, strange folk black metal band, but kinda catchy. Used to have all their stuff back then.
-
Infernal Revulsion. Nothing else to say. Love them since their 1st album. Vomit Remnants. Early advocats of Slam Death Metal. Fucking groovy. One of japaneses first western touring outputs of Death Metal: Defiled! recently they've even showing signs of life again since they just played at Metal Barbarism II. Hope for a new album! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uty9a2hAcrY New Sigh album! So far it really sounds great. Has a Hangman's Hymn vibe to me definitely. But the mastering is fucking shit. BABYMETAL is fucking SHIT Oh yuck. How could I forget the best Melodeath band of all time. Intestine Baalism!
-
I like both. The live version of the original was pretty intense. When I first heard the remake on the DS single I thought like this was the most evil song I've ever heard in my life and it was awesome.
-
They had some pretty rad early releases. Their first EP was awesome, then quadrangle etc... They were really good in terms of creating powerchord themes. The vocals though.. I mean it's even hard to call them vocals because they're so far off.
-
Well as usual this "best of" of a japanese band isn't one . It surely is hard for a J-band to ask the audience which songs are rad and which aren't. On stage the audience always cheers out of respect, on question no one will criticise or favour one work over the other out of respect.. how do they do it? However I also found "from the end" and "forgiven" to be the best re-recordings. The other ones were mostly just unnecessary. I came to like the GALLOWS production for what it is, and everything else is just fine as it is.

Soo.. there's going to be an alternative video of Revelation of Mankind?
-
Much better than To Be or Not To Be, NIGHTMARE and Majestical Parade. Still falls behind SCUMS.. and the rest. Also, the opening song definitely got anima qualities.

Until I have anything to record with, sadly not Do you have a teacher or sth? Fingerslap basically comes from practice. Get safe with your fingerwork first. Place your thump at the edge of the pickup and the rest of the hand above the strings. Try to play very smoothly with your first 2 fingers on the E-string without getting the sound to interrupt. Enhance the force of your fingers the safer you get. For playing across different strings, start with 2 strings. Keep your thump loose or on hold below the E-string (depending on your use of the E-string). The most important thing is rhythm! With pick it's not that important, but you HAVE to be on point playing (especially slapping) with fingers. If you feel the rhythm, it's all good That's what bass players are for. It's hard to tell you slapping in a message. If you fingerslap, you hit straight down to the corpus. Not above or across it. Same with thumpslapping. Pull up your thump, turn your wrist to hit the string, keep your hand stiff. BAM! Don't bounce your thump on the string or sth. Straight to the corpus. But one after anoter Sry if it took long, I found it hard to explain in another language ^^

Maybe your sound would flow a bit better if you try it with finger(-slap). I play Dir en grey with fingers usually and it works well on the old songs too BTW Love your covers dude

Now they only need to put synthesizers into their lives (Chain repulsion etc.) and it's perfect
