^ I think the S album was just supposed to be a best-of CD (or dunno but they called M a "respect album" and S a "celebrate album").

^ These guys imo aren't rly metalcore-influenced tho (still, worth a try!). Awww I srsly only listened to every track like twice so far, so dunno yet. XD I recall the new single being a bit better than most of their other things.

O. M. G. This is pretty excellent! Can't wait to hear LIPHLICH, DIAURA, DISH, Lycaon, MEJIBRAY, OMEGA DRIPP and dat Leda/ryo track (is it the HOLLOWGRAM ryo I wonder?).

IMO the news section doesn't really need prefixes, if not for anything else but it's pretty clearly readable the way it is now -- i.e. usually the artist name comes first of all, and as soon as I read that I know if it interests me or not. Prefixes would just unnecessarily complicate things.

Ah yeah, you're right! Must've mixed it up with some other release in my mind then. XD

Recently checked these guys out, quite okay stuff. I steered clear from them before because somehow the vocals were just not clicking with me at all, but I gave them another chance and now I can tolerate them. Anyway, the music is nice enough in itself so that helps. They don't really remind me of older Lycaon style, feels kinda like their own thang. Kinda looking forward to their first album too, eventhough it won't have that many new songs I see.

Hmm, surprisingly decent-ish. Actually most of the unheard songs sound better than the single tracks so far, to me at least. I guess it's not gonna be some ultimate awesomeness, but looking forward to listening to it (already seems like a more fun listen than the last album).

That was probably the blandest A9 I've heard since their Alpha album... hoping this isn't an overall indication for the new album. :/

I've just finished Doomed today, how do you like it? I thought it was quite nice, good continuation to Damned with some fun twists and turns. Can't wait for the final book in the trilogy! Also I began reading Paul Auster's autobiographical book called Winter Journal. It's a pretty non-linear affair, but very easy and enjoyable to read. I guess I'll have a go at his Report from the Interior next, since that seems to be something like a companion piece to this volume (the former one focusing on physicality and the latter on mental/spiritual development).

I just noticed but the main riff of BUCK-TICK's song Hosoi sen (from 1995)... --starting around 1:05-- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkm58I6c5X0 ...sounds kinda similar to the main riff of Ministry's Stigmata (from 1988). --starting around 0:34-- I guess it's not a coincidence cuz Hidehiko (who wrote the B-T song) is known to love Ministry and other industrial or industrial-rock stuff.

^ LOL yeah, let's hope they'll manage to release the mini album this year finally. Matenrou already blogged about his New Year's resolution being to release the Doguu Album. xD

^ Glad to see more people enjoying You're Next, it was a nice surprise for me too. Last night I watched The Seasoning House with a buddy of mine, it was pretty depressing and dreary. I guess you could say it's somewhat similar in main themes to movies like "I Spit on Your Grave" (tho much of the revenge element is substituted simply for escaping). It was an exciting flick but we were pretty bummed out by it, lol.

^ LMAO that's hilarious. Dunno what the organizers really expected with this random totally unknown band.

I like how both editions contain the same amount of songs. I wasn't fond of their last album (to say the least), but looking forward to what they have to offer this time.

Can't even bother listening to the B-sides cuz I already predict that they will have no effect on me whatsoever. The title track is not-too-bad-ish I guess, in that vein of previous new songs where I listen to it a couple times, then completely forget about it. There are some cool parts in it (some of the verses, that main melody bit, etc) but overall it just sounds like they removed all the 'meat' from a DSS-style song and we got this. Chorus is annoying as hell too. Meh. |
