^ Sure thing! I tend to go in a chronological order anyways... just spinning Breeding Death now, nice stuff. On an unrelated note: started listening to Revocation (I got curious because they'll be opening for Cannibal Corpse in Nov.), and was surprised to find out how "death metally" their few new songs are from their upcoming album compared to the old stuff - which is more like technical thrash, with maybe a few melodic death influences. Anyway, pretty cool tunes, I'm curious now for that new album.

This has just made me wanna check out more of their stuff~ (already in the process of, ehm, "acquiring" xD)
-
Track titles look as neat as always, hopefully the content will match up to them... (not getting my hopes up after those boring single tracks)
-
wow such change But cool that they are at a label finally. xD

^ Nah, he just said he wouldn't do any more "visualive" concerts as he called them (i.e. big live projects with storylines).

Wow Zess, that was a mouthful. Cool review tho, even if evidently I'm on the other side of the field so to speak. My thoughts on these 3 tracks (gonna go track-by-track cuz lel whatevs): Theatrical Blue Black - Starts out with a light but powerful feel, and it's good to hear MiA finally utilize riffs on recordings he could actually replicate later in a live setting with just one guitar. The verses flow nicely into that bridge thingie, tho the screaming/squealing part is totally unnecessary, it feels like it's just there to "be there". Thankfully, the chorus is pretty sweet and sticks in your head immediately. Overall, a pretty cool track for an A-side with lots of energy, makes me hyped for the album (along with RAVEN). BI"name"JIKA - I totally live for that cheesy synthy atmosphere in the beginning of the song, and then the weird clapping beat during the verse. xD It's something I haven't really heard from these guys yet, but still fits in well within their carved-out style. The chorus is surprisingly mellow (the beginning of the track somehow made it feel like a light-hearted feelgood party number)... then that last minute totally makes me lose my interest. Average song with some interesting bits sprinkled in. HATE - Somehow I thought this was gonna be a fast punky SADS-like bomb (yeah, because of the title xD) but rly it's your regular MEJI'song with a bit more aggressive guitar parts and backing shouts thrown in (which I approve of!). This song kinda just flashes by you, there isn't much for it to stick in your memory. This is one of those tracks that might sound cool but ultimately it's just kinda hollow and by-the-numbers. | an okay single, the usual (tho a bit better B-sides this time around, compared to their last one)

The filthy occult Italian doomster ladies of SaturninE just released a new song from their upcoming album: http://avantgardemusic.bandcamp.com/track/moloch Sounds cool as ever so far.

SOVILLETTA trailer is also here~ It seems this album will be mainly compiled of the band's previous demos and live-only things featured on their YT channel since the last few years - not bad! By the way, if anyone wants to order the albums you have to message SPEECIES on Facebook about the details (payment will be through PayPal). So final tracklists appear to be: SOVILLETTA 01. Excellent song!

^ It's a neverending cycle - band needs money, records & releases songs fast, goes to have gigs (plus they have to pay to play too), etc.

I might check out Dissection then, thanks! Also thanks for reminding me of Hypocrisy... last year I started checking them out more in-depth (I had only seen a couple videos before) and quite liked what I heard! Nothing fancy but all-around solid stuff with a captivating atmosphere. Then my interest kinda fizzled out but I might listen to more of their stuff soon as I'm on an extreme metal kick lately anyway.
-
It seems we both have the same problem with typical melo-death then. xD Also, I've never listened to Dissection before but these tracks seem pretty fine! I was always under the impression they were black metal (or always read about them in this context) but I can kinda see/hear this "melodic extreme metal" you were going for.

Ginger Snaps - Fun little take on the werewolf trope, set in a teenage / school milieu. Some really good practical effects, bodily distortions and whatnot. Made me feel uneasy in a few scenes even. Also, the opening montage is the best, heh. Cool stuff. The Signal - This was a pretty neat sci-fi/thriller piece with some interesting twists and turns. Actually, not a whole lot happened throughout the movie but it was put together in an exciting and suspenseful way, and I somehow didn't expect the ending either. Also, Laurence Fishburne was pretty cool in it. American Mary - I loved where this one was going, but it kinda got all fucked up towards the last 10-15 mins and the ending really really disappointed me. Shame, cuz it was a wicked little story with the lovely Katharine Isabelle being a badass in it. Dunno why they had to end it the way they did. Otherwise an okay-ish flick.

^ I think I've heard the first few albums but didn't really affect me in any way. It was okay for listening once but never again. Tho I usually don't really like melodic death metal in most of its forms anyway, save for some early In Flames and Soilwork now and then (I do like Soilwork's later work too, but that doesn't fall into this subgenre).
-
I liked the previous two samples better, this one doesn't rly do anything for me.
-
Never really liked At the Gates, but checked out the song earlier today due to curiosity. Well... still sounds the same. xD

Okazaki returning on drums, niiiiiiiiiiiice

Samples for the single's tracks: http://www.neowing.co.jp/product/DAKWSG-54/track?from_cdj=1 wowww it seems like this will be a pretty kickass release in general~ *-*
-
Yeah, I meant besides the kvlt kvality obviously. xDDD
-
As far as I know, Taihaiteki kyousou's demo and PV versions are the same btw.
-
This is a tough question as I like almost each of them, depending on mood. I went with THE MARROW OF A BONE because I suspect it will get close to no votes. XD ...and because it was such a "tangible" experience for me, since that was the first DEG album I actually purchased at the time it was released, and that's when I saw the band live for the first time and the trip (and of course the gig itself) brings back good memories whenever I put on this album. Other top favs would've been MACABRE or UROBOROS.
-
It could've been expected imo... After all, these guys have already released like 40 different songs in as little as 2 years (most of them quality tracks too!). Anyway, looking forward to hearing the re-recorded / better quality / alternate versions~
