^ Good news! I hope these guys will take to Youtube sometime... would be interesting to hear what they sound like.
-
Yay, another new release! These guys are pretty good.
-
^ SADS is more like Kiyoharu wanting to do Mötley Crüe / Hanoi Rocks / sleaze-rock but with distortion kicked up to 11 (and most of their signature stuff is kinda borderline punk-metal).

My picks: Yesasia.com - I like them because of the "free shipping over $40" option, only use it for such occasions. They have all the popular/well-known stuff but also can have some very random, bit more obscure things if you're willing to dig deeper. Horribly slow shipping but hey, I ain't complainin' if it's free! CDJapan - My oldest and most trustworthy source of CDs/DVDs. Very good selection of even lesser-known bands, top-notch in the information and customer service department and great with shipping (if it's a new release, it's bound to knock at your door on release weekend, or next week at the latest). FROMJAPAN - Great shopping service/proxy site, I only use them for such endeavours. Very good with Japanese Yahoo auctions. Recommended. Bandcamp - I absolutely love the swiftness and easiness of Bc, too bad not many Japanese acts tend to favor this platform. I haven't bought actual physical CDs from here tho, only digital releases but for those I wouldn't go anywhere else. ClosetChild - I haven't ordered from them for a long time now but back when I was collecting some then-active small bands' releases they tremendously came in handy. Too bad only EMS shipping was available (and nothing cheaper) but it was a comfortable sacrifice I guess. Some of the other sites I used once or twice in the past but didn't leave much of an impression.

FEMM has a small handful of bangin' hits but Charisma.com wins for me because they are more consistently good and DAT SWAG.

Ray Harryhausen: Special Effects Titan - Thanks for mentioning this, Bear! I'm a sucker for old-timey/classic special effects and this documentary was a treat to watch. It also made me recall how I might've seen two Harryhausen flicks when I was little but never really connected the name to the product (they were Clash of the Titans and One Million Years B.C.). The ending was heartwarming. Gone Girl - Got to see this new David Fincher movie at a special advance/press screening and I gotta say it was fantastic! Maybe a bit overly long but a very effective mystery/thriller with more twists and turns than a pro rally driver could handle. Ben Affleck and especially Rosamund Pike were excellent in their respective roles. So much darkness, corruption and manipulation, it was delicious. Recommended! The Game - Since I was in high spirits after seeing Gone Girl, I decided to go back and watch some Fincher films I hadn't before. This one was a nice dark little rollercoaster with Michael Douglas. The tone of the ending surprised me a bit tho, in that it was so unlike how they would end a movie like this if it was made in recent years. A solid film, all in all. Won't become my favorite but it was good.

I remember listening to the song they first previewed from the album, and wasn't too thrilled -- or, well, it sounded good but nothing special. This one sounds similar, kinda okay. I'll definitely listen to the album when it comes out tho, their style is pretty cool. Also, I've been spinning some Dissection lately, I gotta say I like their '90s albums better than Reinkaos but that's not bad either. Probably the first one I liked best. All good stuff tho, thanks again for the mention / recommendation.

I wonder if this is a kind of "last-last gig" of Makoto, or already with a new drummer?

New Necrophagia track for those interested: http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=106599 Probably my favorite so far out of the previewed songs!

Goddammit, that distortion/guitar tone on the first Bloodbath album is slaying me so hard... especially here: Yay for 6-stringed buzzsaws / electric razors~
-
Wow, raw indeed! Not bad. Gonna delve further into some Swedish Bloodbath (and Dissection), then might come back to this.
