exactly this, tho.  genetic superiority sounds a lil too close to race supremacy tbh.  😱

i’m not sure the labels are the issue?  trans women of color aren’t being murdered, beaten, etc bc of the label itself.  it’s not the labels causing problems, but probably more so that it’s human nature to judge and categorize, at least at the very core.  there’s obviously other contributing factors.  labeling is also part of human nature.  our brains automatically categorize things to try and understand them.

groups exist to create a sense of community.  considering all the bullshit i see in comments on articles about trans folk (as an example), finding a place where you’re accepted for being who you are without any question (community) is important.

erasing labels is idealistic, but not even close to realistic.

I prefer to say complementary. There are things one gender is good at or can do that the other can't, and we need each other to survive.
I think we've reached the tipping point and we're on our way back to the middle, but this can take years. I don't think we'll see actionable change until people of all walks of life can complain and be heard without banshees screeching in the night about how "it's their turn".

Nickleback although they need to die in a fire.
Phil Collins (on second thought, no fuck Phil Collins for turning on Genesis and I don't even like that band.)

in high school, i used to make mix cds of vk bands and pass them out to my friends, acquaintances, and some random people.  i also used to show people pics of bandmen, but it was just entrapment to see their faces when i told them that whoever it was is a guy.  i was in this class called digital storytelling where you had to put presentations together using photoshop and premiere, and most of those were about vk bands too.  i’m sure my classmates loved me.  😅

hey guys, so i’ve been interested in trading cheki for a while, but haven’t had the chance to really do it yet.  while i don’t really keep up with who’s who and from where, i dig collecting pictures of people (like photo cards or old polaroids of celebs, etc), so cheki seem kinda like a natural thing to gravitate towards.

overall, i’m interested in getting into cheki trades in general, and i’ll probably end up editing this list as i get more and have others to offer up.  i’ve added an area for bandmen i’m interested in getting cheki of, but i’m open to other trades if you’re interested in any of my offers!

I feel like I'm being called out by this thread. Stanning a band is basically you devoting yourself to them(in my case) supporting the fuck out of them because you love their work and what they do.

I basically have a shit ton of Panic Channel chekis, FULL EFFECT' chekis, and DragonWAPPPPPPER. I have every single アー写 Panic Channel has every put out and every releases sans 3 VHS tapes that are like impossible to get. I have アー写 from FULL EFFECT' that hasn't even hit the light of the internet because they're so indie. I bought 6 copies have each of their last two albums. I bought DragonWAPPPPPPER's limited 20 remix CD for almost $300. I have goods like towels, shirts, and hoodies I don't wear because I don't want to lose any of them. I own all their releases including a few live limited goods that are near impossible to find.

That's what I think of stanning. Like if you are basically stalking the band like demachi or irimachi, then you're on another level that's not stanning.

I saw Dir en grey in Portland in 2008.  I was so stoked to finally see them and they were my favorite band at the time.  The show was really mediocre though. Aside from the crowd being filled with a lot of hardcore weeb girls, the band themselves just didn’t seem that into it.  After the show, Shinya and Toshiya were signing and bc of where I had been standing, I miraculously ended up being first in line.  At the time, I’d never had a CD signed before aside from handouts at local shows in my hometown that came in paper cases and I didn’t realize that I had to unwrap the CD before they’d sign it.  The bouncer told me to go to the back of the line, so I very quickly scrambled to open the wrap.  I managed to do it p fast, and Toshiya was laughing a little bit.  Idk if he thought it was funny or if I was an idiot.  Shin ya didn’t seem at all interested in anything.  I tried to thank him for signing the CD, but he just looked away and snubbed me.  After that, I kinda stopped liking Diru.  It felt like the magic was gone.  Tbh I’ll listen to their new music, but I always feel like I’m just not into it now.

Nah, I think the rest of them are cool. Way back in the day when Dir en grey played those three shows in a row in NY, a lot of people were camped out and the tour bus was basically directly beside the line. More than once, Die would be coming and going and never seemed to have a problem acknowledging the fans/occasionally chatting with them. Then the night before the last show when it was pouring rain on everyone, Kyo went around with their translator giving everyone hot tea.
