The Coin Game is just a ticket arcade simulator, but it's ultra therapeutic, especially late at night. Their "Birthday Mode" or sandbox mode, -sans the actual sandbox elements and robots, reminds me a lot of my actual birthdays as kid in the late-90's~early-2000's. Noita is an absolutely fantastic roguelike, almost bullet hell type of game. The wand and perk systems is fun, and there's a ton to explore. I'm about to get started on Katana ZERO. I like what I've seen of the gameplay, and I tend to gravitate toward games with quick completion but high replayability. Also have to mention that Baldr Sky, the top-down 2D Mecha + Visual Novel, just got a Steam localization release on Dec. 20th. I don't think I'll be playing it, but I should mention that the OP was what got me heavily into KOTOKO.

For the most part I feel the same about the album as a whole being messy (dunno if any remainder gya would dig it), but at the same time... This is probably one of the more exciting things I've listened to in a loooong time and I really want them to implement a lot of what's present here in a future release. It was not exactly the songs, but those brief "woah" moments that really made the album for me. I'd get into a groove and then there's this section of weird aural fuckery that gives me the tingles, but afterwards the track might lull out. The mixing is pretty great too, though I wonder if it's b/c I'm used to muddled cheap-kei production as of late. I have a good feeling I'll be listening to this album for at least a month. Brief Notes: The chorus of "MIST" on first listen kind of gave me レイラ/nil admirari vibes (?) "Take me out in the midnight" is the most Chon-like of the tracks, and it's super fun. "Funny world" is all over the place but it absolutely works. Sounds like it would be a killer live track. "+&-" at the beginning almost felt like an iglooghost track, but abruptly turned into a trap instrumental Beiber would use (a bit of a head scratcher.) The beginning of "for the future" sounded nu-BMTH, but the rest of the track was pretty normal. "Tick Tak" is godly, especially after 2:00. There are parts of "TO FOOL" that are a fucking trip, but then "Before it's too late" goes really heavy-handed with that nu-metal-like intro. Then it's just Sho screaming with R2-D2 getting the succ in the background and it sounds fucking goooood. "out of the darkness" starts out pretty nice and then the vocals get all sensual and whispery... then just goosebumps w/ those sub bass sections w/ bonus taser noises. "Lament" ended on a super fun note.

Overjoyed is easily in my top 100 (both the Nathan East ver. and Stevie's.) The harpejji has such a unique, almost synthy guitar sound that's really lovely to listen to. Of course, as the super-ultra-hyper-mega-meta fan of Jacob, I saw this on Twitter, but now I'm watching it again on YT :-). I only took a glance at the live runs, but I missed out on Wind Waker. Watching the VOD b/c I've followed WW and OOT runs for several years now (actually I'm just a huge speedrun fan in general.) I've pretty much followed the channel since their inception, and urbex will always be ultra-cool to me. They've built up enough of a following to where they can feasibly do trips out to China, Japan, etc. now and it's mesmerizing to watch.

I like math & prog rock and appreciate the hodgepodge of sounds in "What's Up?"... That being said, from what I hear in the samples, this whole album comes off as very messy, like throw it against the wall and see what sticks -kind of messy. This alludes to how disorganized the band is at the moment, and while I'm a sucker for all that is experimental & chaotic, this execution (from what I collectively hear in the samples) is half-baked and unsustainable. They've had time to coalesce around "a sound", and instead of figuring out where they fit, they've disfigured the puzzle piece so much I don't know where they belong anymore. My ears might like it, but I'm not sure this approach is great for a band that wants to retain a sizable fanbase. * As for this "just" being conceptual, I'm not sure if they had the luxury for this, especially with a full album. Honestly, they've "been" conceptual as of recent, and even if it has that label, it still has to hold its own as a full album. This could lead to a banger in the future if they ring it back in with some consistency.

I feel like there is already a topic like this buried in the forum, but I'll add to the list w/ some shopping/auction sites I peruse (or just googled.) https://www.mercari.com/jp/ (mercari.com just takes me to the U.S site) https://www.mbok.jp/ (found some of my rarer items here, but it's kinda dead) https://www.bookoffonline.co.jp/ https://netmall.hardoff.co.jp/top/CSfTop.jsp (find rare cassettes and vinyl here on occasion, but keep in mind they're in Saitama if you're using a proxy) https://waltz-store.online/ (cassettes) http://lucyspocket.jp/ (just mail-order now or perhaps defunct) https://www.sangatuusagi.com/visual/ http://www.xxxrecords.jp/speeddisk/ (mail-order)

Click the link to the tweet and wait a bit after playing the clip a few times. It takes a while before the higher bitrate ver. 1280p version is served (there are three versions including 568p (w/ shite audio) and 640p (w/ comparable audio to the 1280p ver.) Here it is fully loaded: https://video.twimg.com/amplify_video/1220260237426298880/vid/720x1280/quRgWqspuG1DKzWu.mp4?tag=13

: / I want this, but shelling out ~6,000 yen with additional service fees and local + domestic shipping for DVD quality (which unfortunately isn't unusual.) ... I'll have to wait until it pops up on Mercari or ClosetChild before I bite.
