In my opinion, watching the tsumi to batsu remake live in person is like watching a poor version of the mazohyst "remake". I've seen them both live back to back enough times to judge. It just doesn't reach the same level of intensity. I know the kind of mood they want to set but in my opinion the same thing could just as well be done with mazohyst paired with karasu for example, and it would make for a more interesting and varied listening experience.

Glad that everyone now can see the superior version of Tsumi to Batsu live, even though Kyo's vocals weren't as on point as it were in other shows on the tour, it's still one of their best live tracks all things considered. I hope that they'll consider playing it alongside or in place of the new version some more in the future.

Personally I think it works good at least in Japan as a set closer as its one of the tracks that has the most audience interaction out of the bunch, that being said, Rasetsukoku and ZAN has the same qualities and they fit better as a set closer musically. However, overseas where people just do their own thing it would probably seem strange and out of place as a closer and that's where I hope they'll bring out Rasetsukoku or ZAN instead. Anything but THE FINAL, please.

If they bring Fukai to Europe that's reason enough for me to be satisfied with the otherwise uninspired setlists. Although knowing Dir it's going to be replaced with THE FINAL.

Got my plug.dj birthday party shut down. Interesting things that happen late at night.

Personally, I don't agree that they look bored. Compare to any other softer tracks of later years, I don't see any large difference in activity on those. It's just track selection, really, Gauze happens to not have a lot of tracks where you headbang your neck off. Doesn't mean the concerts weren't enjoyable, nor that the band seemed bored at the gigs, in my opinion. I know, I was there. However, the mixing I can agree with, this problem did not exist at the actual gigs so they must've lowered the bass a tad bit too much in post production.

This has been done.

What was your username on Batsu?

If you add "and Zero" as the first track and "てふてふ" as the last, the album makes a lot more sense.

Seems like I was right. New Song 1 = Un Deux and new song 2 = Chain Repulsion. (on the gauze tour) Kind of had a feel it was those once I saw it was the songs they were going to do for the studio live. Now someone less lazy can go and fix all the setlists over at setlist.fm since they're wrong.

"New song 1" from the Gauze tour is sampled at 2:30-2:57, it's the chorus section though and that's not entirely representative for the track as a whole, as usual with Dir en grey.

Why does people seem to be certain of what the new songs played during the GAUZE tour are? Have I missed some critical information or are people just guessing?
-
Another note for the album, new song 2 is only about 2½ minutes long. Could explain the long tracklist if there are several more songs of this length.
-
I don't know if I mentioned this in the other thread for the tour, but the new songs are played on six string guitars. They didn't change guitars between Yokan and the new tracks.

I made a pretty elaborate description of the first new song earlier this thread. Day 1 had new song 1, day 2 new song 2. I'm not attending the last show, leaving Japan tomorrow morning. Thanks to all who showed interest in my comments and info tidbits during this nine show adventure.

It was the first new song.

There hasn't been any professional grade cameras in any of the gigs so far, so we can be safe to assume there won't be a DVD, unless they decide to make one on the last two Tokyo dates, or the additional. I don't feel like this is a DVD tour though, but I might be wrong. Sapporo today was the second best gig of the tour so far, the band played with so much energy and Kyo seemed much more energetic than he were in the beginning of the tour. I was beginning to doubt if it would be worth the 20 hour train ride from Osaka but it definitely turned out to be. I'm sure there will be a setlist posted before I'm able to put my notes together so I'm just going to wait for that, it was well rounded though and included the best live tracks of the tour.

Yokan sounds exactly the same as it always has. there are no changes to it whatsoever, and it works really well, surprisingly. The band seems to get quite into it, especially Kyo.
-
It was the first new song tonight, not the one they did yesterday.

Was a great show in general, the setlist was quite different compared to the other shows so far, which I enjoyed. I'll post a more detailed description of the new song as soon as possible, but its chaotic and has a ton of changes, even moreso than the previous new song... From a first impression, I wasn't as impressed by this one.

Yes, ZAN is still in the new version. mazohyst is also performed in the new style they've been doing since 2010 or so.

It was original tsumi to batsu, which is rapidly becoming a all time live favorite track. Also, I feel like this concert kind of confirmed my theory about them just being rusty when it came to the old tracks, everyone on stage seemed more into it today in general. Other than that very similar to the Tokyo show (of course). The new song is also developing a bit, the drum pattern has gotten slightly more elaborate since the first show. Will be interesting to follow if more will happen.

I apologize for double posting, I didn't notice but the setlist is wrong. Cage was actually played AFTER THE FINAL and not before.
