I think it's as promising as other recent D stuff. I enjoyed. MOCK ME.

I can't believe people are so upset with a happy song and a colourful look and video. What did you all expect? For them to shift into this whole wannabe-metalcore movement? Thank God, no. They have been received terribly in the past few years simply because they stick to their idea of being and sounding different with every single release and it seems like it's always the same people complaining about this, the kind that can't appreciate "Nyanto Shippo-De?!" for its humour.
I am actually glad Asagi isn't straining himself on his voice with screams and whatnot and sings without too much effort on his jaw. They're a band that wants to perform, they want to release material and during a recovery this happens with baby steps.
Going with Trombe's point of view; if you don't care, don't read. And in this case, don't listen to it. And for anyone who wants a recent masterpiece by D, listen to "Dandelion," it should serve your needs.

You're overreacting. Are we really going to compare a short preview to their entire catalog now? And why does something become crappy just because it's colorful? Is it bad to be colorful now?

"Real" metalheads? Can we cut the elitist crap? So people like Leda who play in metal and visual bands aren't "real" metal heads? Please. There are a lot of vk bands who suck at metal, but there entire genres of metal that like visual imagery, too.

Most of my faves like Mucc and girugamesh built their careers on that nu-metal era. Nagoya kei also took a huge boost in that period. So I don't find it without merit.
There were a ton of shitty bands on both sides. The darker bands drew me into vk so I'll probably always bias them. But to each their own. *shrug*

This is probably why I have an aversion to all things heavier visual kei now. I wasn't aware that there was any large-scale change occurring in the scene though. I just figured bands started adding more influences and actually built identities for themselves instead of being the newest nameless -core band of the week (which is a very good thing).

What I think of Visual Kei in its current state?

Fairly little, as most people are aware of how my cognizant thoughts form on these ongoing circumstances.

Of course I am acquainted with the realization of how music scenes go through transformations and adjustments, but this never necessarily means that someone has to approve of it. It is true, I am fond of a number of newer acts, but I have made peace with how none of those will ever grow on me, and how slim their periods of existence are, and how quickly I forget they were ever functioning groups after their disappearances. There are but few risen bands in the past five years that last longer than half a decade, and with this they simply do not give their audience the chance to grow attached to them. This scene is unstable and a borderline helter-skelter of irresoluteness and indecisiveness. Musicians come together just because they are available and currently not in any project, therefore most members have no relationship with each other, other than being co-workers. Oftentimes there is no chemistry that pulls these musicians together, they are opposite poles and there is no magnetism that would really form a bond of musicianship, thus resulting in quick moves of disbandments and break-ups (hence the reason 'musical differences', for most splits).

I am no longer awaiting a revolution in this scene. Bands become younger, and legends grow older which causes them to be overlooked, or no longer listened to. It is disheartening to not see big names like Kamijo, Kaya (thus Femme Fatale), Kisaki (thus 凛 -the end of corruption world-), D, 摩天楼オペラ, cali≠gari, DIR EN GREY, Moi Dix Mois, Creature Creature and DEAD END, D'ERLANGER, KA.F.KA, Sugizo and LUNA SEA, Yoshiki and X JAPAN, BUCK-TICK or even GACKT in this thread. People only mention new names and forget about the foundations of this scene, foundations who are still very much active and alive, deep-rooted and fundamental sources who have given birth to this baby in the first place.

With this rise of this newly founded interest in metalcore that —in my very honest and personal opinion— has no place in Visual Kei, I can assume for myself that in a year or two, I am done with Visual Kei. My favourites who still remain active to this day will have vanished as they are simply pushed out of existence because their form and sound are no longer welcomed and essential, and I'll merely be left with memories.

Can someone explain why it's supposedly so bad? Because it's cheesy or what? I can't even begin to count how many cheesy D songs/pv's I've come across over the years.

It's not bad at all, it's just different from all the heavy releases that are being brought out nowadays, and I think that funloving and lighthearted songs like these are by far overlooked in an era of the scene where everything is supposed to be dark and "br00tal".

I like this, it's typically D for stepping out of the box and daring to do something different from a much larger clutter of same-sounding bands. That is why they stand out as a Visual Kei group, and that is why they'll always stand out. It's why D will always remain one of my favourite bands.

Surprised this one hasn't been uploaded yet. People aren't getting it in the mail yet I assume? +1 for me. They are quickly vaulting over the vkei ranks as of late.

Love that he gets increasingly more auto-tuned, as if the sound producer was like "Yeah....this doesn't get better as the song goes on."

This band is really rocking the mixture of visual kei melodramaticism and angryman core music for the pv's like no other. The less they diversify from this formula the better.

The vocalist is a fucking beast. That's a new visual kei chorus voice if I ever heard one.

edit: Twist, after listening to it three times I don't think I want to ever hear it again.

for me. I know they can do much better and there are some okay moments on this single if you can get past the bad parts.

Is ROCKSTAR going to be the next big indies VK "superlabel"? After UNDERCODE went under, there's kinda been a void in the scene left in it's place. Nowadays it seems like there's barely any indies VK labels that have more than 2-3 bands on them(with the exception of like... PCM and SPEEDDISK/death-trap). Either way, the line-up of bands they've got seems pretty ballin' so I'm definitely looking forward to what they've got in store.
