the GazettE will listen to DUM SPIRO SPERO, learn from it, and then make an album like it. I am hoping they ditch RED, SHIVER, and PLEDGE, and just start over. Especially with an unoriginal title like TOXIC? They need to get heavier like URUHA promised long ago...

After looking it up, I feel like there has been a misconception with Kaoru calling the album UROBOROS "easy listening" and "acoustic". He certainly never said easy listening (this I'm 99% sure of), but in an interview a guy said that it sounded acoustic and a "What if Thom Yorke made metal", and Kaoru said "Yeah maybe", but this wasn't referencing acoustic music but more atmosphere-yet-roomy based. So no, Kaoru never said UROBOROS was easy listening or acoustic.

He said that in HnG? If you could provide those articles where Kaoru said that, that would be great! I have never heard about him saying such a thing and it would be very awesome to read. Thanks!

How is it not true? Bands can write an album track-by-track without paying attention to the finished product, it's not that hard. It's just a process of writing music with the intent of making a bigger picture rather than writing music to fit a bigger picture that you want to express. Could be the reason why the album has so many varied sounds and has been described as "chaotic" by Shinya.

I have never been a fan of NEGA, but I decided to give this single a try anyway to see how I felt. The production is pretty good to give the drums and guitars some incredible punch, but the vocals ultimately kill the experience for me. This guys screams are terrible and his attempts at trying to be a halfway-competent vocalist are depressing. This band would be much more enjoyable if their vocalist stepped it up and put out the effort, 3/10

Interesting how the BETTER guitarist of the GazettE is missing...

^ eh I can kind of see what you mean -- but at the same time not really. Die's "werido melody line" is in almost every song they do haha. and I don't think anyone compared amon to 304
  8. wow this is dramatic...

This very well could be their best album if all comes out as planned

    Lol wat?

I've always seen albums as necessary in keeping a very similar sound. Albums need to have tracks which blend extremely well together but at the same time stand out on their own, and I feel like they're doing it here just like with UROBOROS. If i wanted to hear vastly different sounding songs, I'd just listen to a best of or make a mixtape.

wow, great samples! For a while I have been having my doubts about the album, but slowly I am being reassured that this has potential to be great! edit: Just noticed that DIABLOS is 9:51...wow.

Because I find it absolutely ridiculous for bands to complain about albums leaking. Very few do, but when they do there's usually management involvement behind the scenes (paying artists a little extra to say stuff like that, etc.), so I just find it as pathetic, and just decide to shake my head and laugh it off.
  16. relentless

he also wrote about UROBOROS being leaked a long time ago. Something about betrayal? It was kind of funny.
  17. relentless

I'm guessing it'll leak...then we have another boo hoo-filled message from Kyo to look forward to. @_@

Baruga is a nice guy and a dear friend. Don't bad mouth him behind his back. He has done nothing wrong to you.

Well the song is featured in the RPG "Wizardry Online", so it could just be an edit of the 2009 ZAN. Haven't heard anything about them re-working it AGAIN.

Batsu/Fukkatsu don't leak stuff, it's usually obscure Japanese sites that people browse or some random person on Tumblr that passes it on. The album right now is being Engineered / Mixed / Mastered by Alan Douches and Tue Madsen, so I doubt it could be online. Perhaps in a few more weeks? When they're done mixing it though, I could picture the album leaking someway or the other the more people start to hear it. Oh and on July 22nd the band is releasing a promotional CD with AMON and Zan (Wizardry ver.) -- so we have that to look forward to in the mean time!

Apparently on a few tracks on DUM SPIRO SPERO, Kaoru used an 8 string guitar...lol
  22. relentless

Well we all hear things differently.

edit2: Didn't hear anything gauze-ish The first clip with Die playing guitar. Those notes reminds me a ton of 304 goushitsu... in terms of the melody and kyos harmonizing. That's it. Will the song sound Gauze-ish? No. But that's the initial reaction I got.
  24. relentless

At the end of the Different Sense DVD there are some VERY brief samples of the new album. One riff sounds very gauze-era ish, and a few others are thrashy and very heavy. DUM SPIRO SPERO is going to be ridiculous.

People have very different tastes on what is considered "heavy", sure. Some think that anything with a breakdown is "br00tal as fuck", and others seem to think that if it's sludgy (oldcheesy), then it's the spawn of satan. This is how I've always gauged music based on heavieness: the balance of light and dark elements which are accentuated from such contrasts. Electric Wizard is NOT HEAVVVYYYYYY. They're boring sludge -- that's it. Bring Me The Horizon is NOT HEAVY, they're just fast riffs and boring break downs. Pattern? Both bands run this very same gimmick into the ground to the point where they are pretty much jokes. Take a band like Dir en grey, or even some tracks by a band I don't really like, the GazettE. DIFFERENT SENSE is something that I consider one of the most heavier things I've heard in a while because the heavier parts are accented with the lighter soft parts. it makes the song seem heavier and have an overall stronger punch. Stuff like BMTH and Electric Wizard has that INITIAL heavy response, but then it just gets boring after a while. DIFFERENT SENSE? Nope. LEECH (the GazettE) -- Hell I would consider this very heavy, and more so than most joke-metal posted in this thread. It's able to obtain an overall sick sound but at the same time accentuating lighter undertones which give the song a greater presence. Heavy is not defined as SLUDGIER THE BETTER, or BREAK DOWNS AND BROKEN FACES BRO, instead I would say it is variety and intangible aspects of music which make it heavy.
