Its about time that they release the dream the space in the US. I've been dying to buy it here
-
ahhhh, ok thanks!
-
It's not really that bad. Don't see what the big fuss is all about. It's just a very prominent and clean sound which is designated to present itself as primary and not just background noise. And headphones don't really hinder that overall experience either. If the bass drum drowned out the snare, or any other aspects of the drumming, then I'd be bothered. But it doesn't. It plays a strong bit of focus to the overall sound, but still remains subtle enough to fit.
-
Last I heard they were releasing it soon...but that was wayyy back in November? Or whenever they did their US tour. Does anyone know of any updates as to the release date / status of the album? I'm kind of lost haha
-
I wouldn't call the bass drum sound as a problem. A lot of bands go for this sound because of its prominence. And you can't really say it sounds bad...especially off of a youtube clip. I am willing to bet that the sound will be a lot more lush and powerful on cd, that's how it usually goes.
-
I wouldn't mind an invite! that would be amazingly appreciated!
-
No they aren't doing playback. Even with some tracks off of UROBOROS that had dual vocals, Kyo would settle for one or the other -- whichever he was feeling. I picture the same here. excuse me if i already mentioned this, but apparently DIFFERENT SENSE ends exactly like LOTUS...not sure how I feel about this
-
I don't mean to sound harsh...but don't you need sources and scholarly articles on the subect to write a dissertation in the first place? A lot of it is based on field study and I doubt you'll get much help here. The only reason I see vk bands incorporating engrish is because its very WESTERN and a lot of japanese musicians are obsessed with that concept
-
Hageshisa to was written along with the rest of UROBOROS, but didn't make the cut because the band thought at the time it sounded wayyy too much like Gaika Chinmoku...so they ended up reworking it. And yeah, this is more than likely fake but I really admire the attention to detail that came along with this. very cool, and I wonder if they will go with a strong latin theme throughout.

The thing is with Dir en grey products...is that they generally never sell out. You'll have no problem getting the deluxe edition!
-
Heavy is not defined by the amount of breakdowns or the amount of death growls. it is something far greater than that. and where did you read this? Source?
-
^ a lot of people were bitching because they thought that record labels FORCED Kyo to collaborate with Apocalyptica. They thought that Dir en grey, and GREAT KYO SAMA! were being pushed around and dumb stuff like that. When Toshiya said that Kyo wanted to do it...lol.
-
I can picture it being a lot heavier than UROBOROS, and stressing the difference between light and dark sounds. I don't think it'll be more "savage" or heavy because it'll be DEATHCOREEEEEE GROWLLLLLLLL, but instead it'll have heavy and very light parts which accentuate the darker aspects of it. And the band only really used a 7 string for LOTUS, I have heard no word of a 7 string for DIFFERENT SENSE, so I believe they've gone back to their weird drop A# tuning.
-
^my mistake! My computer was lagging and I didn't think someone had posted the info yet. Sorryyy! I'm hoping that the US version ends up cheaper somehow...because I seriously do not want to pay 150 for the special edition...

This album is shaping up to sound exactly like how I have been expecting it to sound now. My expectations are sky rocketing now. Oh and the album is releasing a day early in America: http://www.theendrecords.com/news/dir-e ... piro-spero it will be available in 3 editions just like in Europe and Japan

what he's been doing lately is a variation of pig squealing. It's not what you'll hear in a Job For A Cowboy song -- but the technique is identical, so I guess he sort of is.

Due to the integration of the internet into our daily lives and vice versa, I would say that there is practically no difference anymore between IRL friends and "internet" friends -- not anymore at least. This isn't 1995 in the days of AOL.
