oh, I love Kiiiiiii actually! I know them for quite a while, they have this nice artsy and child-like approach - but I think I get it, so I don't consider it strange - I see it as a sub-genre (other artists in pico pop or minimal electronica also do similar things as far as I remember)... but then I found this here where I'm not too sure about the intent... it is compareable to Kiiiiiii at some point I guess...

another 4 piece girl band I recently stumbled upon is yubisaki-nohaku ( 指先ノハク ) [formerly RADITZ]... didn't know them but they sound interesting, I dig their slow parts with nice bass-line and kind of deeper vocals. most of their stuff is up on SoundCloud; https://soundcloud.com/yubisakinohaku

Somehow I didn't find an appropriate topic for this? To be more specific; I don't mean just funny PVs or bad / crappy / shocking PVs neither PVs where members just mess around - I mean PVs that seem to be a bit deeper and totally make you scratch your head or where you don't get the meaning or parts of it; the ones that are really strange and / or confusing due to the content or story, a bit deeper then just "WTF" (I hope somebody gets my point here - sorry if not, I know it sounds unusual )... I'd love to get some Youtube samples here, maybe stuff that's not so well known. -> Just a sample I recently stumbled upon. Reason; grapes ?!?

just found this new PV by SATORI... very laid back stuff, nice dual male & female vocals and some jazzy feeling (sax. I guess?). I like it a lot! official homepage; http://satorijp.web.fc2.com/

This thread needs more love… hmm, I just stumbled upon ЯeaL… seems like I've missed this back in november/december. 4 piece girls band from Osaka, active a bit over 1 year and pretty young (17 y/o), so they're just getting things started (only a self-released 2 track single out). I's a bit on the average girl rock side I guess, the vocals are not perfect (the kind that many find annoying - but with girl rock I can live with it), the backing is pretty solid tho (esp. considering their age). If you like that genre in general (girl bands like FLiP and such) it's really not too bad - good enough for me to keep an eye open for possible future releases. official homepage; http://realgirlsband.wix.com/real

Ricco Label & RiLF have a nice valentine's day present which fits in here pretty well I guess… This is a pretty interesting and kind of exclusive collab-track (Sigur Ros on drums, mastered by KASHIWA Daisuke) - so get it while you can! Music wise it's a bit on the fuzzy side with ambient elements and maybe not for everyones taste… just give it a try on Youtube. Mikami Chisako (ex. fra-foa) I think she's just beautiful (which means way more then "hot" [body] to me)…

as far as I remember there are a lot good ones around… but I'd also need to dig them up first. for now I'll just go with one of my all-time-favourite PV's - it's just animated (even poorly and not up in HQ on YT) but I really love the story, the essence, the feeling of it… watching it helps me when life sucks (don't know if anybody can follow me here). BLOODTHIRSTY BUTCHERS - JACK NICOLSON

kind of related so I just post it here (didn't see a general 101A thread around); 101A just linked to a Studio Session video of Daire - performed during their EU tour last summer… pretty simplistic and takes some time to build up - but very nice if you ask me.

Oh, Japan… after such a long time knowing you - you still don't fail to impress me… Aaaaaaah! High jump!

this thread shouldn't die! browsing around I recently stumbled upon "ROLLICKSOME SCHEME" -> haven't heard of them before; but I must admit I totally dig it! Incredible stuff actually if you ask me -> the PV sounds pretty unspectacular first, with slow pace and backing... but just wait for the 2:20 mark, and it even gets better towards the end

here's the setlist for Austria from yesterday; http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/deathgaze/2013/szene-vienna-austria-3bd94c50.html great concert; very long, fast, and tough/hard set (over 2 hours playtime)... sadly not as many people as expected but well - everyone who was not there did definitely miss something! if you still have the chance to make it to Munich or france and don't know what to do -> don't think - just go

seems like the official video from cologne has not been posted here; Just for info; the shows are not sold out so it's no problem to still get tickets directly at the shows! Hope to see some of you guys in Vienna tomorrow

According to Noah; Yes... it should consist of real CD's Sadly I won't make it to a concert... Too busy with Japan Expo and Deathgaze (and my job in-between)...

Some fan-Q&A has been released with english subtitles now; And to give this a little push -> according to my info there are still enough tickets available for all the shows! Pre-sale is always a bit cheaper and safer then on-site, just to mention...

    I'd love to see an extended EU-tour also since I missed them both when they were in Germany a few years ago and when I was in Tokyo… Still one of my fav. bands… Why Serbia -> I don't know… I guess it has to do with the studio that did their latest music video and stuff (ppl working there seem to come from Serbia?). At least I come to this conclusion after digging a bit into the details of the campaign and stuff. Anyways; I dropped them 100 Dollars as I think that's not a bad price for getting all(!) of the 101A merch… Don't know if I'll make it to Serbia tho since it's the exact time-frame as Deathgaze. But well - I'll try New PV btw;
  17. 101A is touring Serbia from early to mid july! Not only that but they also have an indiegogo-campaign running to support them (and to get some nice pledges) - please do so if you have the chance (and money)… All info should be up at indiegogo: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/japanese-rock-band-101a-serbian-tour-campaign-and-new-album-prelude July 5 – JAPANIZAM, Dom omladine Beograd July 6 – Dom omladine Pančevo July 7 – Kragujevac July 8 – Club Kombinat, Zemun July 10 – Mladenovac July 12 – Club Lađa, Belgrade July 13 – Novi Sad July 14 – EXIT Festival, Fusion Stage (The list is not complete yet, but we’ll get there very soon)

the concerts are long over so this might be a bit off topic but anyways; these girls are featured up on the MTV IGGY artist of the week voting and need some votes to win this; http://www.mtviggy.com/blog-posts/artist-of-the-week-vote-for-your-favorite-113/ it would be great if some of you are able to do so this would push the chance for some more focus on japanese artists in general up on MTV - and not only JOSY... if you vote or did so already; thank you so much! <3

let's push this a little bit once again

I suppose I'll catch them in Paris then... I was debating over myself weather I should attend Japan Expo this year or not (haven't been every year as the music-programming varies) but this is a good reason for just doing it. To be honest I only like their earlier stuff (they went way too mainstream now for my taste) but experiencing a sort of bigger J-Pop Live sounds good anyways
  23. whitegrey

Hi there! So I hope you'll attend the upcoming Gazette concert(s), right!? Oh - and have fun here! Grüsse aus Österreich!

Traveling by train is pretty expensive in Germany as long as you don't have their "bonus-card" (it's called BahnCard if I remember correctly). For long distance over a few days you can save some money by choosing "Interrail" - you can find all info on that one over here; http://www.interrail.eu - but for like Paris to Düsseldorf or Munich directly I'd just check out the flight-prices and go by plane, you just need to add the transfer costs from (and to) the airports in addition as they are often a bit outside of the town. hope that helps a bit…
  25. Hi there… I don't know if people heard about it but bands like Electric Eel Shock are raising the funds for their recordings directly from fans for quite some time now - and you get extras like free concert-entry and so on if you help them with pledges/money. So far so good… I always liked the idea but didn't have the time/money/motivation to back them and it was not so easy on an international level until now. Anyways - there's a project which makes it easier to do so now and which features more bands and project (at least upcoming), e.g. the wonderful guys from MOLICE… You can find all the info needed here; http://www.fan-bo.com (official web and links to the project/band-funding) http://www.facebook.com/FanBoJp (facebook page) I'm not affiliated with this project but I like the bands and I think I'll pledge some money to the fund-raising for the new MOLICE-album, and maybe more later on Would be cool if you have a look and maybe spread the word! Thank you!
