I used to be obsessed with this song years ago and I randomly had a ridiculous urge to hear it again. It was driving me crazy because I couldn't for the life of me remember who sang it. I was just drawing a huge blank on the band name and finally metalcorebot on twitter mentioned a different song today and it was THAT'S THEM. YES. Ah, nostalgia.

I agree with some of the prior comments in that not all vocalists are singers but all singers are vocalists. Meaning, "vocals" entail multiple vocal styles like screaming, yodeling, whistle register, singing, ect. "Singing" is a more specific and rigid term. So if you are calling someone a talented vocalist it is appropriate for all styles, but a talented singer would only be used by someone who sings in the general sense of the word. ((Even with all of that said, I've been known to say "singer" when I mean "vocalist" quite a lot due to laziness and general acceptance of the word "singer" also being used as a placeholder for "front-man" and other like terms.)) And I don't think one is any less prestigious than the other, the only way I pass judgement is if the performer is skilled or unskilled at their chosen vocal style.

I got some older Cure. Vols 21, 26, 31, 32, 37, 41, 45, 47, 51, & 56. None of them have posters, though. Those got lost in my last move, unfortunately.

That doesn't make any difference with the amount of English to Japanese language for each band, though.

I heard them for the first time the other day at a concert and I didn't want their set to end, they were amazing. So I've been listening to them on yt pretty much all day.

As far as Nightmare getting my attention... I'm not sure. Maybe something really unlike them? I did like some of Sendai Kamotsu, and probably would prefer more of that project than Nightmare. I guess because it kind of takes you somewhere else and it's really their own thing. When they're doing the Nightmare thing, it kind of sounds like an amalgamation of things I've already heard before, and done better by others. Which is a problem I have with a ton of other vk bands (Alice Nine, Royz, Kiryu, ect)

I also feel like being on the west coast makes it sound like less because you can road trip the west coast top to bottom and only visit 3 states, but if you do that on the east coast you visit like 20. >_>;;;

The MFS album had some English songs, 3 I think. The second album was more Japanese, but OOR have never had more than 3 full English songs on any album, so I don't know what you mean by "english in my face" because it's basically the same for both bands. Taka sings combination Japanese and English in 80% OOR songs.

I actually think it might be fairer than people would expect because I've seen a pretty decent fanbase for MFS, not to mention many OOR fans are MFS converts. So we'll see, I suppose. I think if you compare the first 3-4 releases only from each band they both have really strong material that easily competes with the other. Personally I think Taka has the better voice (or atleast more pleasant to my ears. I don't consider Hiro a bad singer at all) and OOR musically have clearer and more open arrangements which help having catchier hooks in their music. While I like MFS, I just don't find their music to be that catchy. It's a bit more technical and aggressive (not to say OOR also don't get aggressive at times) overall but sometimes that leaves their arrangements a bit muddy. So there's a lot of little differences with them. I just think OOR has had a stronger sense of composition from the beginning.

Since both bands have releases coming out recently and rivalries seem to be on the rise, I'm really curious which Moriuchi brother band really has the goods? Unfair? Maybe. ONE OK ROCK Which band did you choose and why?

Album cover looks fine to me. I do understand the gripe about the quality, but since when have they ever had really high end artwork on their covers? All of their album covers are pretty basic, imo.

Exciting. They seem to be sticking together.. Toki, Nao, and Yuuki.

I'm curious what you'll think about it when you get to it. I hadn't seen the first 2 seasons (the ads really seemed cheesy to me), but Coven's wicked witches concept really excited me, so I marathoned both previous seasons right before it started. And that was probably a bad idea. In retrospect I wish I would have just watched Coven first, then I would have enjoyed it more probably. >_>;;;;
