  1. No, I agree with you. Not everyone is 100% of the characteristics of their signs so there are always exceptions. And other factors of peoples' charts effect what traits can be stronger or weaker or completely repressed in some cases as well. Case in point, I am not a typical gemini in a lot of the aspects you mentioned, but again I have other factors that effect those traits so... But I do hear about these problems all the time because people expect all geminis to be the same.

  2. Sel'm ♥♥♥ Man I miss them with トラ.

    1. S.M.N - "HAPPY TONIGHT"
    2. Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas - "Just Awake"
    3. coldrain - "Given Up On You"
    4. Bruno Mars - "Natalie"
    5. ADAPTER。- "FINAL ANSWER"
    6. Dropkick Murphys - "Worker's Song"
    7. Poison The Well - "To Mandate Heaven"
    8. MUCC - ジオラマ
    9. Alter - "The Broken Piece"
    10. BUCK-TICK - "HYPER LOVE"

Hit and miss this time. A couple of super random things, but eh, I like me some pop and some Irish pub music in my spare time.

  3. Vidoll. There just really isn't any Vidoll material I genuinely dislike. And I am extremely happy I got the chance to see them live. They were amazing, so maybe that helps with a slight bias....

Where as Phantamsagoria only had a couple of songs I ever bothered to keep in my library. I never hated them by any means, but they just never held my interest. And considering I had a close friend who was a Kisaki worshipper, I was exposed to everything they had so I knew exactly what I was missing out on.

  4. I could tell her she's wrong, she wouldn't care. I'm old enough to move, but my country's economy and job market doesn't let me to do that. Anyway, that's not the topic about toxic parents, but about astrology xD.

Yeah, sorry if I helped press us further OT. But the topic of parents who's signs make them toxic to us is a relevant topic! Geminis are hard to handle for most people, so I can understand some frustration there as well.

  5. I would totally just move to Universal Studios if I lived in Florida. I'd just... park my ass over there and refuse to move. Hang onto some valuable objects guards would not be ready to sacrifice to get me out.

I have seriously contemplated just that many times. lol.

  6. can give some Sludge bands i wanna see if its the same as downtempo. ummm those bands are working for me, nice though. and yeahh im kind of a slut when it comes to russian and this kind of music because usally i like what i find. My fav j-metal band right now is Infernal Revulsion, they seem to be the only brutal band left. but if Lycaon goes back which it looks like they might they will be my number one.

Sure, tho I can tell you Sludge can be over a ton of different styles of metal (lots of bands include sludge breaks ect.) and since downtempo isn't considered a genre here, I can't tell you if they are the same thing... possibly not entirely since it's a scene that's evolving in a totally different region. To use a description from a metal website

"Sludge metal is a form of heavy metal music that is generally regarded as a fusion of the doom metal and hardcore punk genres, often displaying southern rock influence. Sludge metal is typically aggressive and abrasive; most often featuring shouted vocals, heavily distorted instruments and sharply contrasting tempos. It originated in the American state of Louisiana during the late 1980s."

But some of the most popular sludge bands are EYEHATEGOD, Down/Superjoint Ritual, and one of my fav (unfortunately defunct) bands Acid Bath. Superjoint is more on the hardcore side. Acid Bath has a good mix of tempo. Eyehategod and Down are really slow but not that heavy (imo). So there is a bit of a vacancy in the slow (downtempo) and brutal side of sludge in my library, but maybe this list can help you if you're looking for more than my limited knowledge.

  7. i not good at genres but i dont think downtempo has to do with deathmetal. i think its just that heavy slow feeling to the song which i got from Restrains. yeah the bands or some of the bands where deathcore but 'groovy' brutal deathcore was separate thats why i put a comma and. by that i really just meant a type new deathcore Overlooker Victim Of Depravity  its groovy for me.

lucky you i grew up on shitty music, found vkei and j-rock, loved it but after hearing heavyer stuff i craved brutal and japan wasn't cutting it. Today i love brutal: deathcore, Beatdown, and deathmetal. i find some wearker bands good here and there. I think i have a thing for slams though murufufu

Oooooooooooooh. I see what I did. I just mashed your entire statement together. OTL Sorry!

Right so now that I fully understand what you meant. Yes, I never hear downtempo/Sludge stuff coming out of Japan much, but I have a feeling it's around, it's just not on youtube.

As for stuff like Overlooker... There is Cyanide Christ or Dyingrace (though production is not near as good and I don't think either band is still together atm), but it's slim pickings for things that downtuned deathcore and still kinda sludg-y that I'm able to come up with. It seems like a lot of your bands here are Russian. Must be a good scene there for this kind of stuff?

Personally, I came up around a lot of death metal but it's not really high on my list of favorite genres, I much prefer hardcore, post hardcore, metalcore stuff.

  8. digitalbounce, I think it's convenient for my mom. When she doesn't feel like explaining something to me, or she can make me leave her alone (especially when she did something wrong she doesn't want to admit), then she lies. Things are easier for her this way. Even when I know she's lying, I can't do anything about it, because she would ignore me or never admit what's the truth.

That sounds very frustrating, indeed! My parents also have "never wrong" syndrome. But they just get angry and tell me to shut up, because telling them they are wrong is being ~disrespectful~. I don't know how old you are, but hopefully you are able to move away soon and not have to deal with your mother's lies too often. I know sometimes having to live in the same residence makes it worse, at least it did for me.

  9. I love mosh pits. But I'm not big enough or strong enough to hang with most of the guys here. Our pits can be very violent (it's common to see 2-3 people leave with bloody faces through out the night) so I hang right at the outside to help pick people up with they fall or push people back in when they spin out of control. Japanese bands coming here don't usually have mosh pits. Only maybe Crossfaith (because their music is more western influenced) have had a nice sized pit so far for me. Dir en grey here is all female crowd usually who don't pit much, or it's very mild. But I hear in other cities they have crazy pits so maybe it's just my town is not too into them like other places. But most of my Japanese concert experience has been at anime conventions and no one ever pits at those things.

  10. Well, at the time this was posted I don't think they were major yet, but now they are. In case anyone else was interested. Here's their major label debut!

They've released more since too. All on par with the previous work. Which is kind of amazing.

  11. Apocalyze is growing me but to me it feels like it lacks the heart and umph that the previous releases had. I feel that the hard work in their previous releases was pretty much done so they could break it in mainstream and catch that attention they seem to be getting now. With this heat, I fear that the bands future  releases will suffer the same thing I feel is plaguing this last album. Its so common now. And its a tad bit sad because they really are a great band.

I may be wrong and in the minority here but this is my musical side speaking/observing haha.

I do feel like they're rushing things since ZION, like they're trying to strike while the iron is hot and push as much material out as they can. And it's not as heartfelt as the old stuff. And while I agree with you on that, I don't think their original releases were done strictly to get the attention they got. It felt like they were writing for themselves, but once The Dream, The Space got label interest outside of Japan everything became more formulated and they started writing to appease a more global market. I do hope that once they feel like they have some solidarity in the international scene, they'll go back to writing based on their own interests... but who knows. I don't think they'll ever sound like TATFTDB or TD,TS again because I think they've matured past that but I do hope it sounds more heartfelt and a bit more creative again.

We've all got our impressions and opinions. That's why I wanted to have this thread! Speak your mind!

    W-W-W-WAIT! You said America? Does this include South America? ;-;

Right now, I don't think so. But I do think they'll get there in the future. Every time they come over this way they spread out a little more.

  12. Crossfaith seem determined to keep traveling the world so I hope you get to see them, too! I know you'll have a great time. Their concerts are great! They have high energy and they play the songs perfectly. They just announced a second American tour to cover different cities and then they are going back to record a new album. So I think by early next year they'll be back over Europe and Asia (not counting Japan because they seem like they're still playing Japan every spare minute they have.)

  13. pardon my words but ahhhh nooo! to weak not heavy enough and not slow enough either. heres some  BLACK TONGUE  Restrains Shivers

Arise in Stability, is my band though

Ahhh, I guess the "groovy" bit confused me because where I'm from, we call stuff like Black Tongue and Shivers "Sludge Metal" not "Deathcore". I wouldn't really call Restrains deathcore, either... more Progressive Hardcore than anything (I don't hear any death influence at all, tbh??? Or maybe it's just that particular song.) I'm from Tampa so I may be kind of picky, growing up with Cannibal Corpse and Morbid Angel as staples here might have shaped my idea of what death metal is.

But in any case, yeah I think you're right. I definitely haven't heard many bands that make sludge downtempo their primary sound coming out of Japan. Though I'm hearing it in quite a few breakdowns so there's gotta be something good on the way soon. lol.

  14. My mom didn't grow out of it, she's 64 years old and lying is her hobby. At least she's not overly serious, so when I poured water on my neighbour's head when he was smoking on the balcony (I hate it when I can smell it in my room), she laughed xD

I have to imagine it's hard growing up with a parent that you can't trust what they say some or all the time. Some Gems are quicker studies than others...  or maybe she's just too used to it working for her that she can't give it up. Lying can become addictive to some people.

Anyway, for the lulz, I did the "who you shouldn't date" and got Virgo as my worst enemy lol which is partly true. I have a lot of experience with virgos as 3 members of my closest family circle are ones, in comparison to the remaining two (me and my dad) being aries'. From my experiences, I absolutely agree with the result lol. I love my family and living with them is a joy, but seeing how eg my brother acts and reacts in a relationship, I know I could never be romantically involved with that kind of a person. On the other side, the test recommended libra, leo, aquarius and aries as my perfect mates lol, and tbqh I think they got that right as well lol

I also got Virgo. And also have an immediate family members who are a Virgo (my mother) and I agree 100%! Every reason why the test said I shouldn't rings true when I compare it to the Virgos I know. I think I have too much Fire and Air in my chart to handle Earth signs in relationships. Ironically enough, Earth signs tend to be attracted to me, but I find them somewhat suffocating in romantic endeavors. And like your test, I was recommended Air and Fire signs... funny, that.
