I'm trying to find out more about Yanagi's condition but I wasn't following him when he first got sick. I know he's back in the hospital now (or was the other day) and it sounds like he makes pretty frequent trips. (To be fair, people go to the hospital here waaaay more often than outside of Japan, and being hospitalized doesn't necessarily mean you're in serious condition, either. Japanese healthcare <3 That's not to say his situation isn't serious, though. I don't know much.) Anyway... if anyone can give me some information about when he fell sick, I'd appreciate it -- I've been trying to find his blog entries from around that time and after so I can read about it and find out what the deal is. The only thing I remember explicitly reading among his old entries is that he was having pretty regular bloodwork (transfusions iirc?) because of a side effect of a medicine he was on, and a Saruin fan mentioned chemo on her blog (but that's a fan and it'd be better to read the info straight from him).

After reading Maria's post-live entry, I'm still a little confused -- he's written that the full album which they're creating will be their first and last. But for the time being I guess they just don't know 100% what they're going to be doing aside from the direction they're going, so I guess we just wait and see. Oh suspense.

I've spoken to a few people who attended the live, one of which has followed Saruin's members for 8 years -- they don't suspect this was actually Maria's last live -- the "as if" part of that statement is important. In addition to the album, they announced that there will be further lives, but nothing is currently planned and their pace is certain to be slow (possibly because of the members' medical issues, and the fact that at least a couple of them don't actually live in Tokyo anymore). But, the bottom line is that they're not going anywhere. http://fuckyeahjabell.tumblr.com I started this for the hell of it if anyone's interested; I've been digging up photos from nonexistent (cached) blog entries and have started translating some of the members' old but relevant posts. I probably won't be able to keep up with the latest news there, but it's something. Edit: btw, about the comment CDs that they recorded: only 20 were given out and they -- AND the cheki -- went fast.

Apparently Hikaru was bored last night-- He just posted a furi video for Taiyou. It's been one of the most difficult songs for the fans to follow the furi for off the new album, but they've never done an instructional video before. And it's completely ridiculous (but the furi -is- correct). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCDWBd3IKXk&feature=youtu.be

Tossed this post for the WTB thread; can't delete. Just clearin' it out.

BTW the SE, Kinsho, is the BGM in the ad you posted earlier! They don't have a dedicated sample for it but it's the first track of that ad.

re: tracklist: 黒鶏主義 is read 'kokkei shugi' though yeah it translates to 'Galloism'. 黒鶏論 is read 'kokkeiron' but 'Gallology' would be the translation. 嬰ヘ短調 is Ei he Tanchou, or F-sharp minor ホ短調 is ho Tanchou, or E minor Anyway, the kanji compound they've invented to represent GALLO is read 'kokkei', though since it's totally made up you won't find the reading anywhere but from them.
  11. They're going to have a huge event thing going on, can't be bothered to gather the details, but there's a drinking party (uchiage) with the members, too, for 8000 yen. etc. If you wanna check into it and post the details for fans on here, might be rad, though I'm not sure how helpful this stuff would be to people outside of Japan.

    Yeah, exactly, it's a cliche. I wonder if they're a comedy band?
  14. TokyoCinderella

lol what. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents towards a possible explanation for this. And I don't see how this relates to sadie or Dir -- two bands I don't give a craaaap about -- whatsoever.

I don't wanna sound elitist, but I'm betting this has nothing to do with Ensoku. The "this is a pen" phrase is something of a... joke here? In the former English curriculum in Japanese public schools, it was one of the first phrases kids were taught. You still hear it all the time. As an obvious foreigner, when kids (and even sometimes adults) see you on the street sometimes they get excited and call out to you with ANY English words they know... and sometimes it just happens to be "THIS IS A PEN!!" XD

Sorry for the late reply on here! Re: DUAL CORE, I sold the cheki via FB a couple of days ago. The transaction only just cleared so I hadn't updated this post yet. Jackman flier 1 | flier 2 DID 2-photo set

Touche; it's basically impossible to know if they're telling the whole story or not.

"Something big happened and this is a really bad cover for it. The main composer doesn't suddenly leave the band because he doesn't like the direction the music is taking." It does happen, though. And based on Meku's statements, it sounds more to me like the leadership role on which he basically founded the band is being wrested away from him by having to compromise on things and it has been that way for a long time. Usually, I'm the first to call bullshit on the "musical differences" excuse, but this IS a legitimate thing that comes up sometimes and drives bands apart. Don't take it so literally and think that it necessarily means differences in the style of music. I'm sure it does to some extent, but "musical differences" can very well cover differences of opinion between band members on other things in the band -- ie, what kind of performances to put on, what kind of offers to take and from what kind of companies, what kind of costumes to wear, what kind of behavioral/financial/whatever values to adopt. It's like a marriage. Maybe it takes being in a band yourself to really get it, I know; from the outside it doesn't seem like it could work that way. But producing ONE package (performance, public image, AND music) between four or five people takes a lot of compromising and a lot of flared tempers at times. There are going to be things that are "smaller" than the purpose of the band that you just disregard and keep moving forward, but when the very basis of the existence of the band or your part in it has been nullified, there's no reason to continue on in the band. When problems get that big, you leave. It's not always about someone stealing money, sleeping around, skipping practices, being an egomaniac, or committing "inhuman acts" (harhar). Meku can't function in GALEYD anymore. It is what it is.

Absolutely, here's a photo from my cell phone. It's not the greatest quality so please let me know if you'd like a better one. This is just the faster method.

    Major update June 30th!
  21. TokyoCinderella

Definitely not a bad guy. He's hilarious. I don't think it's just around fans, though. Enjoy.

For Kon -- I don't know what other people say, I'm just talking about what I've seen. On stage he's extremely impressive; really good at not breaking the fourth wall. He puts on a hell of a performance. Off stage, he zones out, isn't aware when people are talking to him, just doesn't seem all there, fiddles with his clothes, doesn't talk when he should and does talk when he shouldn't. He's just funny. He also makes himself laugh all the time because he derps.
  23. TokyoCinderella

Why are we talking about thissssss. No elaboration. But yeah. Nao's a straight-up tool; I didn't have any problems with the rest of the band though. Kon is super odd, but I honestly think he's an airhead with ADD, not a creep or anything. It makes him hilarious though; he is totally not the image he wants to portray on stage. Sin's been pretty friendly, and Yuki's a sweetheart. Regardless, even if they were all dickwads I'm here for the music. I'd just stop going to their lives and instores and just stick to buying the CDs if they were all horrible human beings or something. But Nao really needs to get the stick out of his ass before AX. And Sai -- you mentioned Megoromania, LMAO. I bet I know who. Ohgod the shit I know.
