Does anyone know if you can sign up for a fanclub with just a japanese address? (Like tenso) I'm a member of Buck-Tick's fanclub. I became a member last year because I was going to be in Japan for half a year and they were very active so I really wanted to get the chance to see them live. I think it's pretty ok, I payed about 5000-6000yen, and then I get 4 issues of their magazine shipped to me, the memberscard, a pin and of course the chance to enter the lottery system to get concert tickets (and attend fanclub only lives). From what I've heard and seen though, many fanclubs are way too overpriced....

Can you recomend any websites for watching jdramas? I've used dramacrazy but they don't update that well IMO. I wanna watch the Algernon ni hanataba o version with Yamapi^^
  3. I put an offer on your SS cheki but never got a reply, so I'm guessing that wasn't enough, but it's kind of hard to know what pricerange you're aiming for, especially since you can buy 2 vnew SS cheki's for 1000yen

Fortunately I haven't experienced any disbands (many of my favorite bands aren't active anymore), but I'd say Malice Mizer. The Garnet single is one of my favorites so I would really want to hear what their next album would've sounded like =/

I remember finding that webpage years ago, but I realised the stuff is most of the time heavily overprized. If you know where to look a lot of stuff can be found a lot cheaper.
  6. I've only seen 1 stream, mostly because like the above said, it's waaaaay to long especially when I don't even know if there will be anything of interest. So I'm one of those who rather not get a surprise and would love to see a list of the items being auctioned beforehand...

What I meant was that many people who aren't that well informed might think that rock is all about being rebel and going your own path, without listening to orders and because of that since VK is connected to rock music might think VK musicians are all about going their own way etc and I don't think that's very likely. And in japan maybe more than anywhere else everything which has something to do with bands etc is very controled. (I hope I make sense...I'm very tired so I'm not even sure of what I just wrote XD)

To be honest, looking at how VK has been from the start, you can see clear recemblances with the pop industry and that's much because of how the japanese music industry look. Everyone might think that these bands are very individual etc but truth be told many of them obviously want to go on a label for better marketing and well better everything and when you go on a label in Japan they will sort of control the band. I'm writing my thesis partly about VK for the moment and I've read japanese material about the VK scene and also talked with one of my teachers who knows a bit about both japan and music there (not vk though but from the litterature I get the feeling what he had to say about it fits even the VK scene). and I think it's also a cultural thing, you can't get away from the japanese system, and the business-system in japan is probably hard pass by without ending up in the middle. also I have a question I've asked before (not here though I think), does anyone have any japanese source for what oshare kei is? I've tried googling but don't end up with much, also it sort ofsounds weird since the bands usually are very colorful (like an cafe) whereas oshare means dressed up, as in classy dressup...
  9. I can't understand how people can keep several languages active in their head, it's really impressive to me! I have a hard time keeping the 3 I "know" updated XD
  10. Swedish (native), english and japanese. I used to study french but I've forgotten most of it so I didn't add that ^^'''

I have a hard time not skipping, I usually just want the goodies and then sometime I listen to the whole thing. But the albums which are closest to perfection is Velvet Eden's Ningyou Shoukan and Street of Alice. Both of them have 1 track I feel is less great (Dance with skelton and Cold sleep), but the rest of the songs are so amazing I can forgive them for that. So those 2 cd's have the most amazing track on the same cd I've ever heard, so I think that counts
  12. My family doesn't really care, but my mom and sister thinks it's interesting and they like some of the bands/songs.

I'll be impressed if that will be the tracklist. Looking forward to it~

I was kind of hopefull, and I do like the instrumental parts but I have to be honest and there's something about Kaya's vocie and rockmusic...doesn't work for me =/
  15. Igyou_Hime

Agreed, again, their cd's are like 2 different songs... I think Hizaki and Teru's stuck in a rut When Kamijo left it relly showed he was a big part of Versailles creativity.
  16. Just sad this wont be sold....

Sexy Stream Liner! I've noticed I'm sort of lonley with saying that, but I really like their late 90's stuff. Sexy Stream Liner and One Life, One Death is superior to any of their other cd's IMO.

I enjoy most of the bands I've seen live, but if I were to pick one I'm gonna go with Schwarz Stein. I've seen them 4 times (only 2 onemans), and they were just as awesome everytime. I think their music builds up a great atmosphere and both Kaya and Hora are very good at interacting with the fans. As for recordings I'd say Malice Mizer, mostly the Merveilles concert, and also old Velvet Eden (first era). So sad I'll never get to see that live.

Acctually I'm majoring in japanese (final year, writing my thesis now), and I did find it from googling, I just never got what it was I was reading because whenever I opened a topic that looked "interesting" it's like a million pages and they don't say much on each post, which like you said was quite un-understandable because of the crazy japanese vocabulary...so I wanted to get a link to the right topic, don't need that anymore though because I read and realised I wanted to stay out of that sh** because my rational mind told me 99% of what is said is pure BS. (sorry for causing this thread to go off topic)

I mean that blogentry he did like, maybe 2 years ago (?) that he'd stop all activities.... I guess he didn't though, since he seems to do random events, and blog.

I got this today ^^ (Malice Mizer flyer, Gab2003 vol 4, signed Amongst Foolish Enemies, The Abyss of Despair and a D message disc)

Wasn't Juka/Shaura leaving the music scene?....

Depends on what you mean... his fanbase was mainly 10-15 year olds in the first place and those aren't really a good fanbase (kids change their mind all the time). They write about him sometimes in papers, if he'll participate in talkshows or something like that but not really that much. The latest thing I saw was an ad on the train showing he'd play the prince in a play of Snow white...then later I saw it was some other guy so maybe he dropped out.

I personally prefer RES, but I have to admit at times Satsuki's voice wasn't appropriate for their sound. His solo is a bit too pop for me, but some songs really suits his voice. I've understood that many agree with you though... I accidently came across a picture of Misaruka today and it pissed me off....reminded me of how bad they are. The first thing I saw with them was that horrible cover of Malice Mizer's song Gekka no yasoukyoku, and as a Malice Mizer fan I couldn't have gotten a worse start with that band. Saw them live half a year ago and that didn't really help, the members seemed rather annoying and the music is the kind which sounds the same (a cd sounds like 3 different songs, that kind). To be honest I could probably add all the bands on Kiwamu's label (except for Velvet Eden, despitethem going downhills I can't hate them since I absolutly love the first 3 eras)
