So I'm guessing millennial means vocalists that were active around 2005-present? Here are a few memorable ones for me that are lesser known. Saki (active 2004-2010) Bands: Clorican, ClearVeil While he's not the best screamer, and may sometimes make you wonder: does this dude even know how to scream? (but ironically makes him memorable), his clean vocals are to die for. And even more, when he reaches those higher notes. I miss him so much and want him back. Raya (active 2004-present) Bands: L'eprica, ANGRAYSE, D'efend Chroma, Sierra de Cobre If you like art-kei vocals, Raya is not to be missed. He's currently back with L'eprica members and plays with bands Emmuree, DISH, and Sioux, but still no sign of them releasing any new material. Still, I can only hope. Amonn (active 2001-present?, but probably only became well-known with the band MELLO in 2006) Bands: Diod'honneur, MELLO, Trompe l'oeil Another art-kei vocalist that shouldn't be missed. Very deep and powerful vocals with amazing delivery. I haven't heard anything from his recent band Trompe l'oeil, but I hope they didn't completely disappear and are still active and planning something new. Oh, and I voted for Ryoga. I don't know much about the other ones, but I'm growing to like Kazuki. I favor Tora over Ryuga so I didn't vote him. They're both great vocalists, but I've always thought Tora was more compelling and emotive.

^Yess, that'd be great!! I've been thinking about this a lot while at work and I think I'm more interested in doing a lyric + PV analysis in one, mainly because it gives more room for an analysis. If no one else is gonna take a stab at it soon, or wants to join with me, I'll see if I can whip something up of my own in the next week or so.

Thank you~! No I have not, but that's pretty cool. It's great to see that they appreciate fans translating their lyrics! Have fun seeing them! (lucky!!)

I'm still pretty new to these guys, but wow I learned a lot from reading this! Nice job collecting all this info about them! I first got into them by their song 失楽, which is probably my favorite. And more recently, I found a new love for 桜の満開の木下で. I haven't even heard of this album, but I will definitely check it out! Really love the song 赤い絲 already.

I really like this idea! Since I translate lyrics myself, I always like to see what others make of the lyrics, rather than just me making my own interpretations. I think this will help others gain interest in discussing more about them, even if only a little. But as @Zeus mentioned, having someone fluent in Japanese is essential for doing something like this as there's so much to discuss about how it's written in the original language before getting into the translation. But of course, that depends on how poetic the lyrics are. I think it's even better to have two people fluent in Japanese, or at least know a decent amount of Japanese, in analyzing lyrics just because there can be so many different interpretations. I think that'll help bring up interesting discussions. I am honestly interested in starting up something like this, but am afraid that I can't offer too much time as I have so many other things currently going on in my life. Bi-weekly or monthly might be manageable though. Another thing is that I'm not SUPER fluent in Japanese (but i think i know a decent enough amount), which is why I think it's a good idea to have another person take part who's also knowledgeable in Japanese. Getting access to lyrics will certainly be an issue as not everybody will be interested in the lyrics I have in hand. And not everybody who DOES have access to them is willing to share them, etc. But we can still start somewhere with what we have. Thinking more about this, I can also see how a lyric analysis can go hand in hand with a PV analysis, if the song has one, which might be really interesting as well~

Omgg yaaasss nice review @beni!!!!! I was thinking about compiling a 'best of' list for her too ever since she announced her new solo work. This is a really good list and you actually picked a lot of my favorites!! I agree that Kagami Kuni no Aria will probably be well-liked by most MH users here as it's her heaviest track, and also one of my top favorites. So if you don't like her poppier and cute-gothic lolita stuff, be sure to at least give that one a listen. Really happy to see that you included Iryuuhin and Shunkan. Even though those are way back from her debut single, they still top many of her later works for me. I think a lot of it has to do with the nostalgic vibe it emits, and also because it just sounds so emotional. I don't know, I feel a lot of things every time I listen to them. As for her all time classic 'Kesenai Tsumi', I actually like the raw breath track remix a lot! The bass (i think) is so catchy at the beginning, and it's just an overall nice toned-down version of the original. Tsukihana and Suicides Love Story are great songs too, even though I didn't really like them as much back then. Now Suicides Love Story is one of my top ballads from her. Utakata is probably the most beautiful ballad of hers though. <3 Maybe I'm really biased as a long time follower, but everything here is worth checking out~ Just to add a few of my other favorites not listed here: m'aider, utareru ame, under babydoll, my dear maria., blue butterfly, akai kami no onna no ko (for the cutesier side of her, really sweet and lullaby-like), and I could probably list more but I'll stop... Here's my honest opinion about her new solo work so far: you're not gonna like it if you don't like electronic pop. No more rockstar Nana, at least for now anyway. I really don't like this new direction of hers, but I do still LOVE her for who she is. Considering that many of her influences come from western rock bands though, I do still have hope for her. I want to her more grunge and shoegaze Nana, which she touched a lot on in The Teenage Kissers. (well, she was only really shoegazy with that one song Daydreamer)

well, maybe not so much growling but more like their screams; kinda rough like their throat is dry. of course their normal singing voice is quite different, but i can't help but hear some similarities between their screams. and like i said, it could just be me.
  17. plastic_rainbow

rentrer en soi's growl just came on shuffle. did anyone ever compare mar's growls (it, as if in the darkness) with satsuki's growls before? or is it just me........

MAGAZINES!! finding my brother's old collection of Newtype magazines made me want to buy the missing issues to complete the collection so i'm hunting them down on ebay right now. i also just subscribed to Otaku USA, which is similar to Newtype but NOT DEAD. i also found out about Rue Morgue which is a magazine for horror related stuff and i'm gonna buy a couple issues first before i decide about subscribing to it. it's a little pricey..

been playing Persona 5 ever since it came out and it's really great so far, i mean of course, look at how amazing it looks!! they went all artsy on this, everything is so flashy that i sometimes don't know what i'm looking at haha, like the menus for example, but i'm getting used to it now. it's not totally a bad thing though because at least it doesn't look boring or too simple. i played about 9 hours already but a lot goes on at the beginning so it wasn't until about 4-5 hours that i finally got the freedom to roam around the city and explore. can't wait to see all the fun activities and weird stuff coming up ahead! oh, and i love using the ambush attack. reminds me a bit of tenchu~
