Long ago when I was looking for rare Yama-B stuff, I was linked here from a Google search. I made an account and forgot about this place for a long time afterwards. In 2009, when I decided the former J-Rock forum I used to frequent was becoming overwhelmed with idiocy, I decided to come and officially make myself comfy here.

His lyrics are actually pretty good; they actually make sense unlike some Japanese-English lyricists. (Does he write the lyrics? I thought Naoya did for some reason). The only thing is the blatantly obvious grammar and syntax errors.

Ask Jesus "Why?" What would you do if you and another person were in a claustrophobic area without any exits and the other person said he had to vomit?

I hope they will continue on a little longer. I'm sure they wouldn't set up a FB, MySpace, and Twitter page for a one-time deal, right? I heard the big thing they have planned is going to occur late this month, so we'll see. ^^ I hope Sugizo isn't too involved in X by then.

doesn't know I'm a girl ^^

I love Sunsgrind! They're probably the only hardcore band I do really love a lot, actually. >.> I like having Kazama back; he sounds wonderful in the new release. Although his Engrish is still pretty awful, but still he has a great voice. The new EP is awesome in general, totally can't stop listening to it. And yeah, that would be cool if they could come overseas.

I hate it when artists become solo and their music sounds exactly like the music they made when they were in their old band. >.>

I figured you probably weren't female, but your actions do sound like something a weird fangirl (or boy, whatever) would do, nonetheless. (I.e. saying they "suck" for saying your favorite band sucks). I know some of those comments are stupid, but I think you are overreacting a bit. If they are trolls, you are just giving them what came for by replying back. And it IS YouTube after all, not a place famous for having a large number of rational-thinking geniuses. Just saying. :-/

Knows lots of cool bands. ^^

Oh c'mon, don't ruin the spirit of the thread. But seriously, if it wasn't for the extreme hype coupled with the fact that I find most of their songs to just be plain boring/terrible and not at all that "amazing," I probably would just ignore X Japan rather than actively dislike them. I do like Taiji, Pata, and Sugizo though - so I guess that means I don't completely hate the whole band's existance, lol.

@ ronluna: A quick suggestion. Maybe you should ask them why they feel that way or at least explain why you disagree with them, rather than just re-posting their comments and calling them idiots. You just look like a butthurt fangirl, tbh. And some of those comments seem like legit, inconsequential opinions; not all that incredibly stupid in any way.

That shirt is still freaking hardcore *o*

-double post time- Checked HMV and discovered the new album track list. Some interesting titles! I expect something dance-ish like SA-KA-NA was. 1. The Empire of Vola 2. Thank You My Force 3. Risky the Stars 4. Magic Tantric Dancehall 5. Rough Consensus Tokutei Mondai Ni Kansuru [shuudan No Kankaku] 6. Flag 7. 80s Man 8. Hello Darkness.my New World 9. Panic in the Tokyo 10. The Beginning of the Beginning Link here: http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/product/detail/3864818 Atchan posted in his blog that the album cover was finished too. I guess when it gets closer to September we'll get to see it!

Okay, more love coming up. . . B'z - their music just makes me feel good inside . They are masters of pop, hard rock, ballads, and even though I don't like it all that much, some jazz too. Their songs have that perfect "just right" feeling - not too out there, but certainly not boring either. Tak Matsumoto is simply brilliant. Koshi Inaba has a great voice and presence that makes me excited. And as an added bonus, both guys in the band are super handsome. And . . .I love their back up members too, like their recent drummer, Shane Gaalaas. Shane is so adorable and funny! Boris - a band that isn't afraid to do anything, it seems. I love all of their music, except their drone stuff, but that's okay! I love their new psychedelic/poppish stuff and I've always enjoyed their punkish, heavy, stoner rock. I think they and Number Girl are one of the reasons why I started looking more into "different" type rock music. I love Wata's guitar playing and Atsuo's "woooo's" and drumming. Plus, he is just a cool, insightful person from interviews and stuff. And Takeshi sounds like a pretty funny guy too; I like his punkish monotone vocals for some reason. Yeah, I love Boris, and I'm happy they are coming to my state!

I don't like his music, but I think he is SO hilarious.

I wasn't there, but it is good to hear you had a great time. A friend of mine tweeted about what was going on the whole time. ^^

People too often forget, if it weren't for those "unoriginal, sell-out" American or European artists, Japanese people would have never started playing rock music in the first place. That's where most of their ideas originated from. So gotta give the "white people" some respect, even if you hate all their music ever.
-
Yeah, MusicJapan+ tweets about that band CONSTANTLY. I need to remember to stop following them. It's like they can't cover any decent in depth info about a band unless they are as crappy as possible.
-
Yeah, totally agreed with Champ. So what if a band isn't nescessarily a special snowflake if YOU love them and you think they do a fine job, that's all that matters anyway. And personally, I think there are rock and metal bands in Japan who do certain things a whole lot better to my liking than certain bands that "did it first" in America or Europe.
-
Wait. You do know the Japanese musicscene is the second largest music industry in the world after the USA?Yes, I know that. But from my perspective, it being one country - it is a lot easier to find stuff when compared with finding stuff within multiple continents and countries. I hope that makes sense.
-
Japan is a smaller place, so the music scene is easier to explore, in my opinion. The good and bad stick out better, unlike in the European or American scenes where there are so many artists and countries and genres to wade through to locate the good and isolate the bad.
