Monotone music and too much synth.
Does anybody know why guitars seem so absent in today's VK?

I love Seraph!
Tetsu's era seems so forgotten, even by fans. So delightful to listen to baby MALICE MIZER
My rocky heart is being touched by this sound (old school VK) I hold dear.

These guys unfortunately never managed to release more than a couple of singles, to my knowledge, which is a pity because they're GOOD. As far as I can tell this is literally the only song of theirs on Youtube
I remember this band from a blogspot I used to frequent looking for indies band around 2007.
I think I have some of their music, but it's in the basement.

Barely halfway through the video and BEAUTIFUL!
MALICE MIZER deserves a bigger concert.
This IS Visual Kei
-
These are small samples but most songs sound almost the same...

I thought ILLUMINATY was the most popular song in Merveilles. It trascends the Visual Kei scene.

From what I have read it wasn't Tetsu's true passion being in a Visual Kei band and having to care about aesthetics.

Guitars anywhere?
-
Nice melodic singing in Doukeshi, but then the musicalization is downgraded by the use of synth which literally drowns out any possible guitar lines (if any...). The other songs pretty lazy and generic sounding.
Do they really attempt to make memorable music?
I really wonder if there's any remaining passion in being D...

Nice!
I hope they do well and, if possible, release a DVD.

They sound good, skilled people, but as usual today, their music lacks any essence/spirit that I sense with old VK bands. They might as well drop the aesthetics they put on; it plays no relevant role at this point.

Great visual production but their music ends up being forgettable.

I will walk together to future not promised.
It keeps walking together, to future in which you are...

Their music is reminiscent of what Malice Mizer sounded like around the time of Ma cherie; at least to my senses.
It looks like we are seeing more bands bringing back what some of us crave to hear today. I just want them to succeed.

I tried to translate 静寂の闇に舞う愛と悪戯の遁走曲 and... what an overcomplicated title seems to be. 😄

I was never a follower of WIZARD although I used to like a few of their songs. I supposed this was caused by smoking which seems too common among VK musicians.
Sad news.

Many bands actually, but one long forgotten: Baiser.
I loved Baiser, it was one of the bands that had a great impact in me. Today I feel the band has fallen into unfair oblivion.

Is this real?
I don't know how to take it.

Probably not musically, although this band aimed for the 90's Visual Kei sound, but aesthetically, definitely La'Mule influence.
They were a good band that weren't appreciated enough.
GAUZES

Like many bands today, they sound uninspired and then come up with aggressive riffs for the "look, we're bad guys" shock value.
-
At this point, looks have lost any possible meaning and interest.

I kind of like them but that poor artificial violin sound should no longer be happening in 2019. Either get a better synth or hire an actual violinist. The PV is really dull. Find a house or a mansion, decorate a little, use candle lights to create an atmosphere and move around the place.

I don't have money to buy something like this today, but even if I watch it on YT I wouldn't hasitate to buy it if later on if I can afford it. Most of my generation grew up downloading from the net and, once you got a job you purchased that same material.
