I've lost any hope of them releasing good stuff on a constant basis, it will always be this kind of rollercoaster. This one is blaaaaand, still waiting for the banger that will be hidden between all the fillers on the album
  5. FINALLY something interesting again!
  6. Ikuo is a beast, really looking forward to this!

If you do understand how elitist and entitled that sounds, okay, to each their own I guess You do realize that they do instores to try to improve sales and bring more people to their concerts, and bonuses are there just because a regular release isn't appealing enough, right? Fighting modernity has never worked before and never will I for one am really happy bands like dimlim and dexcore are putting their releases on spotify and I can somehow support them, instead of giving them exactly 0 cents, which would be the case if I had to download their stuff. This is a weird thought. You wouldn't like everything to be on spotify, but would like for it to be readily available on itunes? So people who can't afford the asked price wouldn't be able to have the same access? If you wish to support them harder, there are a lot of ways of doing that with merch, physical copies, instead of limiting access to music. If xTRiPx released their stuff on spotify I would love it and still buy every release I could, because I want to support regardless of access, so stream would just be another form of revenue...

I'm always down for new Akito! 1/f no yuragi was SO my jam, sad they were so low with their releases

It's a worldwide trend. Albums became less frequent, singles in the way japan do (before full albums) are much more common, sometimes not even being featured in albums. You can blame it on stream if you want, there are several studies noticing how spotify dictates even how songs are being produced nowadays (not that I see this happening in japan soon, as they are always stubbornly behind some trends). In a way it's good, it extends songs longevity, which lets artists focus more on delivering good content instead of always putting stuff out. And TBH, in the whole world music releases are a supplemental income to live concerts. Artists must survive with their lives, that's just the way it is after the internet. The sooner japanese bands understand that and adopt stream the way they should, the better for everyone.

remember kids, heavy isn't everything that solo is GOTY so far, daaaaaamn
  11. xTRiPx's Yoshito. I have so many things I'd ask him

I think that was the general consensus here? Shit tons of potential, less than favorable delivery... I do enjoy a song here and there tho, tenten will always be a favorite

Don't see any DIMLIM references at all, aswell. There's A LOT of J-indie nods tho, which I love and think this scene absolutely needs to be less stale. The first verse cadence is actually VERY similar to a vistlip song, btw. As for the song itself, I love it and would love it even more if they had spent more than 10 dollars for that recording studio. Really excited for more awa in the future

It's a recurrent argument I've seen people talk about now and then during these years that the negotiations are different depending on if the songs are new or old, if they are exclusive and so on which I believe do make sense, but I don't know if that's really true
  15. chemicalpictures

I feel digital releases and youtube kinda helped killing VAs. We don't know how the negotiations between recording labels and bands used to be, who paid for what, I believe bands feel like they can save costs and manage promotion better by themselves online not to say about songs rights, I've heard about some songs skipping releases because they were somehow attached to a VA, so...
  16. Just started spinning Satsuki's album and I've listened waaaaay worse before. People are hating on the dude to look cool for their friends. Squall is even a good song!

      chemicalpictures

Yeah, the album gets progressively more bland with each song, but I still think there are good ideas here and there

  17. DEXCORE went from being really really corny to one of the best acts in the scene now. Collapse kicks so much ass!

no pictures is bullshit and fuck any band who tries to enforce that in foreign lands. take those mothefuckers out of the damn pedestal. In japan they can do as they please, it's their culture and any tourist should follow the locals. Now the snowflakes expect people from another country, a whole another concert culture to abide by their arbitrary rules on a concert they paid some expensive AF ticket to be there, just to not be able to take a picture, or record a personal video, because the band said so? yeah, right. This is business. They do overseas concerts because they have something to gain, not because they like our pretty faces or are doing us some favor or smh

jesus guys, "leave the scene if you want to announce your wedding and ruin my fantasy", really? talk about petty fan entitlement
  20. chemicalpictures

lmao, the way he sang "In the void" at 04:00 made me throw up in my mouth a little. The orchestrated arrangement could've been an interesting touch, but it was clearly done on a VERY tight budget. I'll check the other songs, maybe there's something do salvage there

I've listened to the gemini trio and was disappointed as fuck, they've butchered some of their best work ever, I couldn't even bother giving a chance to anything else
