TheBistroButcher666 reacted to Peace Heavy mk II in Unclean vocals and none singing voices
I am 85% sure that vkei drummers use this video as a tutorial to learn how to play drums for the 15 seconds drumming is covered.

Is that the actual cover of it?
I liked their logo a lot smaller, like when I couldn't really see it :x

TheBistroButcher666 reacted to Peace Heavy mk II in KAMIJO new mini album "Symphony of The Vampire" release & will be major debut
These samples honestly sounded like Matenrou Opera using rejected filler from Versailles' Jubilee album, editing out the Hizaki wank and thankfully not having Sono.

Arithmetica, I love this! Your artwork is really cool; I love the mix between the cartoony (sp?) characters and the ultra-realistic MELTY GUTS

TheBistroButcher666 reacted to relentless in Unclean vocals and none singing voices
Couldn't agree more. I enjoy screams ("harsh vocals") if they're employed properly, or in the right kind of music for it.
There's still immense skill involved in something as "basic" as screams and growls (especially doing so non stop over the course of a two hour setlist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5WHCxxXYSI); but in VK and VK-related groups, it's more often misused.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD_ecPQ-SgY -- Out of nowhere this band begins using death growls, and it shows. Also refer to Sadie's high screams and growls -- though at least Mao is slightly better than Wataru.
These bands could be better at what they did, if they put more effort into what they were doing. Growls are difficult, and if you're not going to put the effort out (see: Ruki from the GazettE), then there's no point in misusing them.

That reminds me: using backing tracks for screams is probably just as bad as not being able to scream at all.

I hope Teru doesn't have a moment of weakness like he did when writing a B-side for their first single.

TheBistroButcher666 got a reaction from Gaz in グリーヴァ (Grieva) new single "グリーヴァ VS GRIEVA" release
Even though their first album was basically still a DEG remake album. It still felt pretty fresh and didn't feel like complete copy. They played around with the songs and it was a new fresh approach. Recent stuff from them feels like a complete carbon copy and since I've already out played DEG, it's basically the same outplayed stuff and not a lot of enjoyment from listening to something I've over listened to in high school.

TheBistroButcher666 got a reaction from fitear1590 in Do you feel people complain about music they don't like more than talk about music they do like?
I guess my original point is that while people may seem negative, those are just the loudest ones and stand out the most. When you think, where are all the reasonable people? Oh yeah, they're just listening to music and not giving a fuck.

Yeah his falsetto isn't the best but I don't listen to Kyo for good singing anyway. I think that's part of his charm.

TheBistroButcher666 reacted to Zeus in mysterious band "sukekiyo"
That preview sounds like a garage band warm-up. I'll wait for real studio quality before I make a decision because there's no way so many musicians I idolize came together and released something that shitty.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiit Yukina and Isuke are fine.
Whachu fools talkin aboot?
Visually I think 90s VK looks the best but it's not a damn dats hot I want to fxxks kinda aesthetic. Out of make up and looking like a normal person that I could talk to, now sign me up for that bandwagon.
Yayoi definitely looks his age :V
Also Kohey is still a cutey.

TheBistroButcher666 reacted to Jigsaw9 in TRUST will conditionally disband
LOL things like this are such bullcrap... "Oooh we'll disband if we don't get X amount of ppl at the show"
Well tough luck, if their band sucks and the turnout is so low they have to resort to such tactics (almost like blackmailing) then maybe they should realize that nobody wants to see their crappy tryhard flop band, and they should move on to more productive and fulfilling things. Of course this way they'll get some extra money maybe and an ego-boost to delude them further into continuing until they pull off another one of these stunts.
Sorry for the rant, I usually don't give much mind to things like this but I couldn't keep it inside. xD

TheBistroButcher666 reacted to nekkichi in HOLLOWGRAM new mini album "Qualia" release
I have no idea why 9gbo disbanded (maybe every other member besides ryo just died creatively while being in that band), but this sounds like they took 9 goats boredom and multiplied it by every other member's irrelevance.
I only like first track so far, everything else sounds like a bunch of recycled stuff, derived from two equally terrible demos (the "jazzy" vk one and the "lyrical" vk cliche track)
oh, and the background growling gives 12012 a run for their money when it comes to being atrocious, why did it happen at all

TheBistroButcher666 got a reaction from Tokage in Do you feel people complain about music they don't like more than talk about music they do like?
I feel like, sure there's a lot of negativity but it's from people overreacting to some of the most mild comments. Even if the comment is pretty unnecessary like making fun of Mia's fake nose or bitching about Dir en grey playing Western metal. The responses from the cray crays are pretty over the top.
I think some of it is just due to people being pretty obsessive and unrealistic when it comes to their band worship. Any sort of criticism, even the most mild like, the kerning in the font on this album cover looks bad. Will receive responses with pretty outrageous comments because people take it as a personal attack. I think that's pretty common with VK, I'm not trying to put metal fans on a high horse (because they're pretty fucking stupid too) but it's the only fandom I interact with that I can use as a comparison. Yet a thread on say /r/metal with mild criticism like the above examples if anything would be mostly ignored but if you mildly criticize say MEJIBRAY or Dir en grey, the fans just come at you like you're some KKK dickwad Holocaust denier or Osama Bin Laden.
So really I don't think people are so negative, it's just a few loudmouths that will ruin a topic because they can't accept anyone saying anything but praise regarding their favourite artist or band.
***I kinda don't like using metal fandom as an example because comparing the two is like comparing shit to shit.
