I don't really think "old vkei" should really be lumped into just one cohesive category that spans 20 years since that implies a high degree of sameness in both halves of the equation. The music and style of dress was different from 1998~2002 than it was from 1994~1997, and the scene from 2002~2006 was nothing like it is today. Hell, even from 2007~2010 is almost a completely different game from what it is today. Is D'espairsRay's last album still considered "new visual-kei?" Rentrer en Soi's "ゆりかご" was released in 2004, yet that is probably considered to be "old school." 
 
And what about the blatantly ignored white-kei era? Wyse and IZAM are crying rn
 
If we're going so far as the mid-80s to '91~'92, I don't know if it would be correct to really consider those bands in the same realm as what's being discussed here. Bands like Red Tailed Cat, Jolly Pickles, Zi:Kill, Color, D'erlanger, Banana Fish, and the other various Free-Will entourage have always kind of been "proto visual" to me since visually, musically, and the general attitude of the scene (or lack thereof in this case) is not the same is it would become shortly after. Granted you could very well dislike them just as much as random Key Party bands, but that doesn't mean they're the same kind of asian men in dresses

It could be that they got exposed to more things in a very small amount of time. Hypothetical example, but suppose they started college and had 3 roommates who were very musical. That would have exposed them to a great deal of other genres outside of vkei and possibly cause them to feel they've really compartmentalized their own tastes and try other things be it for variety, better production, or to fit in with the people they're around most now.
 
It could also very well be that they've been changing all a long, but the result seemed immediate to an outsider. 
 
As for the people who seem like their favorites change within 10 minutes, they probably never really liked that "favorite thing" to start with and seem like the kind of person who throw around superlatives without really placing any stock in their severity.

I found something that may help you with member history? It's a picture I found last night by accident (from here)... no dates specified, but info as to who was in the band and where they came from.

呪ワレシ is correct as norowareshi. It's old Japanese for "norowareta" (cursed).
廃人狂イ人形 is ok as you spelled. People who romanized it as "haijinkyou" probably they left out the イ when reading (in that case it would make sense).
 
Btw found out a couple of mistakes:
黒装束の調ベ (Kurosouzuku no Shirabe) → kuroshouzoku no shirabe
十字架の結末… (Jyuujika no Ketsumatsu...). → juujika no ketsumatsu (jyuujika is ok as well but I see that you have been using Hepburn so just to conform to it)
螺旋階段と記憶 (Rasen Kaiden to Kioku).  → rasen kaidan to kioku

These samples honestly sounded like Matenrou Opera using rejected filler from Versailles' Jubilee album, editing out the Hizaki wank and thankfully not having Sono.
