  1. I was around here and there in the beginning when this thread showed flickers of promise. Then it went down the shitter, just like all threads that get past page three on TW. Then came back to set a Dirutard straight and generally spout off my unwanted opinions. Just because I don't post lame .gif's every other post doesn't mean I'm not here ;D

I was quoting the movie o-o

Back to on-topic: I agree with Jon as well; although I think lynch. deserves a bit of hype. Deathgaze, however, would be a better example for me since I find it hard to like an entire release by them.

  2. If I had to pick so far I'd say Jubilee and 7th rose. I haven't listened to a lot of the albums posted yet (listening to Human Clad Monsters for the first time at the moment /delay), but I feel like this is just going to start a bunch of bitch-fits between people saying their favorite artist's album of the year should be considered the highlight of 2010. This thread would be a lot more fun to read if Dir en Grey plans to release an album on December 31st.

  3. Fuck yeah Europe

Also, I dislike Versailles but I wouldn't say they were particularly overvalued. Although it does irritate me that portions of their fans think because they listen to them, they're suddenly musical geniuses, impressed by two-hour-long solos and couldn't name a better guitarist than Hizaki (or to a lesser extent Teru) if they tried. Perhaps it's the members who are overvalued. Who knows.

Adagio = neo-classical/progressive metal = thousands of times better than Versailles btw

Even with Versailles being my favorite band and being the group that completely changed my outlook on music (I was afraid of metal before listening to them  ), I do partly agree with you. Fan hype does distract people from enjoying certain music, which is unfortunate, but even for people who do like a group, all of the internet drooling can be embarrassing to see. For example, I like D but their page on last.fm makes me cringe as I read the comments. I personally feel that Hizaki's a great musician but there's no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't have as many fans if he looked like every other Asian man. Even though I like their costumes and love their music, some people just need to keep their fan organ in their pants 8=>

  4. I think the Catholic church is out to kill left-handed people. Naturally things aren't made for us to begin with, but the latin words for anything dealing with the left have some roots dealing with the devil, or going against God.

What made me think this? If you're a practicing Catholic you know that you have to shake people's hands right before getting communion. You shake with your right hand and then put your submissive hand on top of your dominant hand in order to receive. If you're left handed, that means you have to eat something that touched the hand that has all the germs on it from shaking someone else's hand. EVERYONEISOUTTOGETMEAHHH

  5. I'm very excited for this new single : D I'm glad Masashi joined although I never got to see him in concert since they didn't come to the U.S. Their new costumes are beautiful although I am disappointed that Teru didn't change much. Hizaki's dress looks like his first one but I like it much better. Thankfully he lost that plastic looking fabric :urg: Kamijo looks semi-lareine which isn't a bad thing, and I can't really see Yuki or Masashi all that well...I'll need to wait till the release pictures of individual members. However, I did like that Masashi kind of looks like he's taking on the role of Jasmine without being Jasmine II.

    Anyway, I can't wait :gaga:

  6. Understandable. They're still in their awkward phase and it looks as though they're growing out of it. I do agree that their first release was almost a train-wreck even though I love "Divine Dot." Even their costumes seem messy since there's no theme to them at all. But as I said, they're growing into a better group and I think the added hype only hurt their debut.

  7. I think the similar style of the sings is why I liked it so much. I do like releases with a lot of variety, but if I really like a certain style of song I'm welcome to several songs that follow a similar pattern. I think the only song I didn't like from Versus was "Filmy" and the other song whose file was corrupted when I extracted it (I don't even remember the name). I'll have to listen to Six again though.

Well that was my attempt to try to extinguish the ensuing flame war.
