When people say "generic", it's a less informed way of saying 'derivative'. Derivative art is something that draws heavily (and exclusively) on an already set style without doing anything to make it genuine / different. Consider Elvis Presley: great performer but he offered NOTHING new to the rock / blues genre in terms of technique, style, or innovation. We can all croon about how dreamy Elvis was, or how beautiful his voice was; but that's really it. Compare him to the Beatles who re-defined a genre.
the GazettE are not Elvis Presley. What I mean by that is it's not like they've stuck to the same formula over and over again. Sure their guitar work can be incredibly dry and typical without the saving grace of Uruha's solos (Drop B, 1st and 2nd Frets. There's your GazettE song. Let's call it 'ANGRY SONG'); but they've at least taken the VK 'scene' and evolved in it with their own sound. 80's pop hooks, pop-punk, metal, and electronica all come together to make the GazettE's 'sound', which I will say is pretty unique vs. Elvis.
the GazettE aren't derivative, they just rub people the wrong way. Personally I'm always shifting between thinking they're cool and thinking they're the lamest thing in the world; but that makes me even more excited for this new album: I want to see which GazettE shows up. The cool one, or the lame one.
I'm not a fan of the GazettE but I have to quote this because of pure win. My respect goes to you.

easy choice: Kagrra,
I love Kiryu too but to make things short I grew up with a lot of old bands and Kagrra, is one of those bands. -
my review:
Not as good as their self titled album, not as awesome as their SEVEN album... but still a good record for me.
I liked it, simple, I enjoy listening to it on my way to work.
thumbs up. -
I'm happy now <3

Bottom of the death valley: No idea why they remade this. It was one of the better songs off of MOAB. Still, this sounds alright, albeit a little robbed of its old feeling. I don't mind it, as I didn't like the original too much, anyway.what -
I love DIR EN GREY since the Vulgar album, they're my favorite band and I've loved every release they'd done... but... I never thought I'd say this but... I'm disappointed.
The main song is awesome, I loved it but the remakes... for god's sake they butchered one of my favorites to pieces, Unknown...Despair...a lost was amazing but the new version is a piece of shit. ¿Why do they had to include shrieks and growls into it?, they killed this song so bad.
There are little highlights like kasumi, the final and macabre, but the rest...
Like I already said, I never thought I'd say this but this remakes are sad. DEG I love you but you disappointed me for the first time. -

But it's Dir en Grey, so everyone is going to love it anyway.inb4shitstorm

Actually, it does make sense, you just didn't understand me. What I was saying is that all the negativity on here, as mentioned above in comments prior to mine, is to be expected. What I find interesting is that most say they've lost interest, but we all know that they are going to still listen to it and this is proven with TOXIC and DIVISION. When those came out, countless people would say the usual "generic" terms for the release and how they won't even be bothered to try it, yet you can probably expect 3/4 people that say that to write a review for it in the "Review Section." So those comments are a bit unwarranted and are as generic as what most consider The GazettE to be now. Basically, I was simply iterating what GazeRockSnob was saying but clearly the word "waste" offended you or something.
No, it didn't offended me, now I realize that I didn't understand your post.
now back on topic, don't worry kir <3

Yeah, most people bash on the band and it's new release but everyone still bothers to listen to it and most "waste" their time writing a review on the very thing they would call a "waste" on this forum
That doesn't have any sense.
There's something called criticism, people do reviews about something they might like or not. There's a lot of people out there that gets paid for doing this kind of thing. It's nothing out of this world, I don't really care about the GazettE anymore since the TOXIC release but I'd listen to their new album just to see if I'll love it or hate it. It'll be a waste of time maybe but it's the time I'll use to realize an opinion about anything. You just have to deal with it.

I think Baileys on the rocks is quickly becoming my favorite drink. Tastes great and doesn't have too much of an alcohol taste. You look classier drinking it and I don't get the "stigma" that comes with ordering a fruitier (i.e. girlier) drink. I especially love the Bailey's caramel, though the mint chocolate Bailey's was pretty disappointing.
The downside is that it is expensive, especially for the amount of liquid you get. The shiitty part is the off brands just can't stand up. I've tried Emmet's and Caroline's, but they both are marginal at best and not worst saving your money. I have also tried Dooley's, which is essentially an Irish cream that uses vodka instead of whiskey, but I honestly don't like it very much. It has a nice toffee initial taste, but the alcohol tastes is very strong and unpleasant and ruins anything it had going for it. I have also made my own Irish Cream before and that is tasty as hell, but I can't drink much of it because it is so rich.
I would like to try St. Brendan's (off brand), E & J's (uses brandy instead of whiskey), and Rum Chata (rum and rice milk).
Ito, I agree 1.000.000% with you. This is the most awesome drink imo. It's becoming my favorite.
