The Midnight Meat Train - Nice adaptation of Clive Barker's story. Enjoyed the original short story, and the movie's quite entertaining too. Shame about some of the CGI gore, but other than that I liked it. The movie has a vaguely ''Lovecraftian without the Lovecraft'' atmosphere going for it without resorting to the usual OOGA BOOGA SQUISHY TENTACLES stuff. On a related note - does anyone know any other (good) horrors that are set in or around subways/subway stations? Only one I can think of is Creep (2004), but i haven't actully seen that one yet.

Watched Clerks and Heathers yesterday. Enjoyed the latter more than the former, mostly due to the latter's surreal and dark take on stereotypical high school movies. Also, that ''I love my dead gay son'' line had me laughing my ass off for some reason. Clerks was entertaining as well at times, but half the time it just sort of felt like ''DUDE SEX JOKES AND SWEARING LMAO''

  17. @anakuro: Listen to Metronome, Codomo A and Makaroni already!!! They're all better than Kibouya (imo) also i know its been YEARS but im still surprised Codomo A and Kibouya were somehow signed to Undercode, of all fucking labels lmao and yeah, i know i'm sort of guilty, i don't even regret it )))) I don't recall how most of HaL's solo stuff sounds, but i remember one fast-paced track with tropical drums or something like that, it's also a pretty wild ride. Think it was generally less heavy on the bleeps and bloops and more heavy on the rock side of things though...

Seen a bunch of movies lately that I've forgotten to post about: The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Yeah, yeah, ''ultimate cult movie'', I know, I know. And yet.. somehow I felt like the opening number blew away literally the whole movie that followed afterwards, except maybe Tim Curry's performance. Whoops. Song of the Sea - Very cute animated film, somehow feels to me like a Western Ghibli movie. Lots (and I do mean LOTS) of influence drawn from Irish folklore in this one, so if you're into that, check it out. Army of Darkness - While the first 2 Evil Dead films definitely belong in the ''horror movies'' thread, this one fits better here in my opinion... To be perfectly honest, it's my least favorite of the three. It just feels TOO goofy at this point, although of course the sfx work is awesomely done.

  23. I basically enjoy them because i'm a fuckin ho for that rock + bleep bloops combo that bands like MJO, Metronome, Sandwich de 120pun?, Geba etc. do also Hal's solo project was pretty weird, based on those releases i listened to...
