I think the review squad always welcomes critique with an open mind, at least, as much as I know of them, but I think the feeling your initial post created was one of discontent without any substancy. If you have critique on the way the review staff does their polls, then sure, speak out! However, it's kind of useless to just complain so to say and not offer any other solutions or give them feedback on how they could do better. That can be a bit off-putting, as myself (and the other staff members) can state from past experiences when we were taking suggestions for improving the forum. We're all for members giving their voice on what they'd like to see different, but negative commentary alone without potential ideas of how it could be better often comes over as very negative and something people don't really take seriously.

The Japanese and Korean pop scene do both have lots of bad rappers but I personally consider MC Itsuka (Charisma.com) to have a great flow. At least, she has way better flow than most mainstream Japanese rappers (and a lot of mainstream US rappers too, Iggy Azalea doesn't have shit on this). I think what Bear is describing is mostly those idol groups put together by companies and that pick 2 or 3 members of a group to be the "rappers" while they do not have any talent or experience in rapping. I prefer groups that come together with someone who actually has experience in rap, like say, Block B's Zico.

^ This is one of those things I didn't know that I didn't need. Jesus, what a trainwreck CL really isn't that great a rapper, sorry to say.

ONE OK ROCK isn't a band that does anything special, but I do consider them one of the few mainstream artists that actually manage to captivate me from time to time. I don't like allof their songs, but each album has a vast selection of catchy, fun songs for me to enjoy. Mighty Long Fall was a great track that I felt like was a bit outside of their regular comfort zone. I don't mind if a band plays a more generic sound as long as they do it well. That's why I do have to agree with Hellion on MEJIBRAY. MEJIBRAY brings absolutely nothing new to the table, and that wouldn't really be so bad if the execution of it wouldn't be so poor. Their riffs aren't all that special, the vocalist I consider absolutely terrible and the songs don't even sound that different. Of course that's my opinion, I just never understood how people managed to listen to their vocalist for more than 10 seconds without wanting to rip their headphones off.

Haven't been able to properly sign into PSN on my PS3 for like a week, it keeps randomly signing me off or it won't let me sign in at all. I heard some ISPs have been blocking the ports PSN uses because of the DDoS attack, but when I check my router and do the connection test it says all ports are open. Also haven't been able to get into the Nintendo e-Shop for like a day, same issue, can't log in. My other devices work fine so I think I'm going to have to call my ISP. EDIT: Nintendo e-Shop problem seems to have been solved after a software update and a reset of my router. My PS3 is still being a huge ass though, and I need the PSN connection to download the patch for Dragon Age Inquisition 8|

  10. Alright, that's enough. From now on all posts that are off-topic will be removed. Ignoring this warning will get you a warning point as well. This thread is not the place for these kinds of pointless arguments. Take it to PM if necessary.

Naughty Dog shared the first gameplay footage of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The title will be a PS4 exclusive, just as all the previous Uncharted games. Nathan Drake is probably my favourite male protagonist, he's such a fucking loser I'm so glad he's back. The game is set for 2015, but Naughty Dog hasn't released an exact date yet. I love LOVE the detail in this video. Nathan's trousers are wet from the water for as deep as he went in, the mud on his pants as he slides through it and small rips in his clothes. I hope they keep the details for the full game, but in all honesty when it comes to detail and framerate, Naughty Dog hardly disappoints.
  12. Have some people on here that are in their twenties honestly not reached the maturity level yet where they see that posting comments like these in threads of bands they do not like is unproductive. Black Gene does not hurt you in any way by simply existing. Besides, as comes from our general guidelines: It's really not that hard. Let fans be disappointed and at least elaborate on why you feel like they should disband instead of "pls disband kthnxbai". I've seen this shit happen a lot more often lately and I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on it. Ye have been warned.

A gem I found about next week's episode: tbqh I don't think Kuvira ever cared for Bataar Jr. His position as eldest son of the Matriarch of Zao Fu just gave her a tactical and political advantage.
  14. Artist: ヒトリエ Album: WONDER and WONDER Score: Having an incredible musical allergy against all things Vocaloid-related, Hitorie shows that having Vocaloid roots does not always equal terrible taste. In fact, I'm going to be as bold as to say that Hitorie basically dropped the best indie-rock album of 2014. WONDER and WONDER is the band's debut album, after their incredibly solid first single and mini-album. The bar for this album was thus set incredibly high, yet I was not worried that this album would disappoint me the second they dropped the music video and the previews. If you're not into Ling Toshite Sigure because of TK and the shrill noises, Hitorie is the band for you. Hitorie's vocalist has a very pleasant voice. He's not the best vocalist but he's incredibly well in synch with the rest of his band. Hitorie's strength lies in their own sound. Despite being a very young band, they have thoroughly established their own sound, a sound that is similar to other bands but still has something quite unique about it that makes you say "this is Hitorie!". Their combination of diverse melodies and catchy hooks makes them one of the best newcomers of the year. WONDER and WONDER is a showcase of everything Hitorie has to offer. The album is mostly made up of upbeat songs, but they differ a lot from eachother despite all executing the same signature sound. Hitorie found their formula, but isn't afraid to experiment within their formula instead of constantly churning out the same exact song as some other bands tend to do. From the incredibly well done ballad 癖 to the minimal なぜなぜ and the fun upbeat 我楽多遊び, this band shows a lot of different sides of itself. There was not a single song on this album that I did not like or considered average. The second half of the album is better than the first half in my opinion, but in general the quality is good throughout the entire album. What also makes this album so good is that it's fun. It makes you want to get out of your chair and dance along to the incredibly catchy tunes. While this review might not be as in-depth as those of the Review squad, I do hope I've managed to make you at least a tiny bit interested in this album. It's just a fantastic album from start to finish and I can hardly find any flaws. I don't rate albums five starts often, but when I do, it's Hitorie. Final verdict: - It's just that good.
  15. SHOWS UP A WEEK LATER WITH STARBUCKS I actually tried the Wagakki-band album and I'm really pleased. I've never been a fan of Vocaloid, but to see Vocaloid songs to be covered so creatively always makes me smile. Definitely a favourite of mine this year. Could never get into Kameleo sadly, I don't mind pop-rock VK bands in general but the songs aren't catchy enough for my taste. Wasn't too fond of gravitation either. It's still the same formula they've played since NOW, just mixed with deeper guitar riffs and more wubs. But if fans are digging it again, then sure, great! Arukara's album was great as usual, probably one of my favourites of theirs yet next to Drama. The violin play in the third track was one of the best sections I've heard this year. I sadly never got into 88kasyou, it just doesn't click with me and I have difficulties describing why. Maybe I'll get into them one day, I hope. They're very talented though, it's just not for me. TK did a great job as expected. Fantastic Magic had a few filler tracks near the end that made me go "eh" but overall it was an enjoyable album. unravel is probably the most overrated song on the album in my opinion. The guitar sections are excellent but the chorus is very underwhelming. I feel like the popularity is also caused by it being the opening song for Tokyo Ghoul. The title track is one of my favourite songs this year though. I've never heard of TESLA, but that video made me really interested! Loving the piano-driven sound, definitely going to give this one a try!

That is one of dozens of things one should consider before pulling the trigger but doesn't determine the entire picture. Besides, as Perez already demonstrated, the state of Ohio has open carrying. Besides, the person who called 911 about the fake gun also mentioned that it was probably a fake, but the police officers weren't told that this was the case. Miscommunication was a big part of this. The police even said that the officer who shot the boy was a rookie and had not yet recieved the appropriate training. The officers are on paid leave and there isn't even a proper investigation to check whether these shots were truly necessary. Hell, they could've just tasered the kid and that would've been enough. Why two bullets in his stomach?
  23. sai

Yes of course cops have that right, but...a 12-year old kid? Plus shouldn't cops know how to handle this sort of situation without gunning someone down immediately unless there is a direct real threat? I mean I can only speak from my country's law perspective when I say that I don't consider a 12-year old kid a direct threat. I mean they arrested a guy a while ago who was walking around the park with an actual gun pointing it at random people and they took him in after talking to him for 40+ minutes and they only shot him once in a non-vital spot. If they do that with adult men, why do they gun down a kid immediately?
