nick reacted to Gaz in MH FEATURED POLL #23: What is your opinion on K-pop?

nick reacted to Des in MH FEATURED POLL #23: What is your opinion on K-pop?
It's a plague.
There are zero artistic intentions from these laughable look at me I'm so cool and dangerous Korean Kens and insecure slutty Korean girls in tight outfits singing those uninspired melodies on fruity loops level tunes. There have been several movements in music where the performers can be described as mere products rolling out of a factory and this can certainly be called a K-Pop factory and it's among the ugliest factories in history. No appeal, low quality.

nick reacted to Pretsy in Unusual locations in PVs
has made a "location-centered PV thread" earlier, except that the focus point was more on the most popular spots. After a good chitchat with Amoz and Panda I decided it'd be good
to make a thread about unusual PV locations in BOTH VK AND non-VK
You know the drill already, hm? Feel free to either mention or post PVs with locations that you find quite atypical to the said scene or so on (so abolish those castle kei PVs, please...or okay j/k, nevermind)
I highly doubt that my threads would really garner attention but it'd be really fun and intriguing to see how many "exotic spots" we could name and such, my examples:
Negicco - Hikari no Spur (location: Lapland // Rovaniemi, Finland, thx Amoz!)
Guniw Tools - baby's one do (location: somewhere in Nepal)
Luna Sea - Mother (location: Ireland)
La'cryma Christi - Nangoku (location: Palau - ps. this band had like tons of exotic spots in their PVs. e.g. Venice in their Dwellers-era...)
Vamps - Angel Trip (location: Thailand (?))
etc. etc.
Feel free to share some of yours!

nick reacted to ghost in MH FEATURED POLL #21: What does your family think of Visual Kei?
My parents know about it.
And their opinion is "As long as the music is good, eh what the heck."
They can't do the heavier stuff/screaming, but I've listened to Mucc's "Houyoku" with my Dad and he liked it.
I sometimes sing Dir en grey's "ain't afraid to die" in karaoke and my whole family thinks it's a great song. Sometimes I sing "[KR]Cube" and they think it's funny when I do the little vomit noises.
Fun fact, my first ever concert was a Dir en Grey concert. With my mom who wanted to chaperone me hahaaa.....she was terrified to be there (and disappointed because Kyo just sang on stage with Addidas pants and no shirt and called him a poor showman) and later (after some misunderstandings) they thought I was homosexual.
EDIT
My mom and Kyo share the same birthday. Wat a twist!
I also buy/sell a lot of CDS so they gave me the nickname of 4989,
which in Korean is pronounced "Sah-Goo-Pal-Goo" and can also mean "You buy some, you sell some".

I also use watercolor and traditional media. It is actually faster than drawing on the computer, but I like digital media better because of the effects you can achieve and of course ctrl+Z XD
But these were made with watercolor for example:
When it comes to ressources and stocks I try my best to search for accounts that offer free-licences, so I can use the work for all kinds of purposes. For textures there is this amazing guy: http://sirius-sdz.deviantart.com/All of his textures are free to use, including commercial.
