monkeybanana4 got a reaction from nomemorial in stupid question, but I don't speak Japanese and translate doesn't really help me unde
I think "後日解禁バンド " means that more info will be revealed about the band(s) playing at that live at a later date, i.e. other band(s) participating that haven't been listed/announced. Not sure about the band, Aster, though 😕

monkeybanana4 reacted to nomemorial in just found out my Shinjuku lodgings are a three minute walk from Like an Edison/etc..
I've been saving as much as I can for almost a year now and it's STILL feeling like not enough (and my wife and I are picking up and moving across the country a week after we get back home so uh, that'll be interesting)
I'm hoping to write up a quick live report when I get the chance! I really enjoy a lot of the bands on the lineup so it was perfect timing for me.

@nomemorial Oh, that's awesome! That taiban (mixed bands) live sounds like it'll be a blast with that lineup! Best advice is to not be afraid to have fun and join in on the furitsuke (a choreographed dance usually created by the band for a particular song) with the fans. Hope you have lots of fun! Would love to hear how it went when you return ^^

going to see the god and death stars on 5/1 and then a live with DIMLIM/GRIMOIRE/gulu gulu/まみれた/Hueye/モンストロ and 2 bands I am not familiar with (Aster and 後日解禁バンド) on 5/6
I'm super excited!! first time in Japan and first time at a proper VK live (have seen a few random bands at conventions, but no one I actually care too much for so this will be a treat)

If you don't mind me asking, when are you headed to Japan? (There's also a Closet Child in Shinjuku, too. Another place for the wallet to RIP >,>)

Haha, yes, I almost think it's too dangerous to be there when on a budget, lol.
Nice! Will you be seeing any VK bands live?

@Zeus - so true. It seems in general that people are growing more and more intolerant of anything outside of their own world view, and both their ability and willingness to think is compromised as a result. It's like anything that doesn't result in an immediate dopamine spike is quickly discarded as "toxic". It's a sad state of affairs.
@Gesu - I'm glad we've been able to help foster such an environment!

the internet is quickly fragmenting into groups based on socioeconomic, sociopolitical, and political lines. i felt like this was going to happen because all the algorithms do is show you things it thinks you will like, which tends to be things that validate your world view, so social media networks are the equivalent of depressed people yelling into the digital void. for as ancient as a forum is, there's personality here that big social networks can't replicate.

@Zeus Twitter is basically just a pseudo-Tumblr. I don't think it was always like that, but it definitely is now. Everything has to be part of an SJW political hive mind; you say something people disagree with and you get ree'd at, even if you were being totally fair/respectful. This is why I like MH so much; it's neutral, and you can share your opinion without anyone attacking you. Hell, someone might completely disagree with what I'm saying right now, but I feel confident that no-one's gonna leave a death threat in my messages/on my feed.

monkeybanana4 reacted to saishuu in i wonder how Kagrra, felt being one of the most iconic and incomparable bands in VK .
@nomemorial I really don't think any other band in the world has ever done what Kagrra, accomplished with their first four mini-albums, for example. There'll never be songs that come even close to things like "幻惑の情景", "刹なる言葉", "鬼遊の唄", "鵺の哭く頃", "碧の葬列" and "夢イズル地". Not to mention they were all super young at that time too (all of them were in their early 20s iirc). They were incredible.

[gozen] remains one of the best vk debut albums of all time.

monkeybanana4 got a reaction from Paraph in i wonder how Kagrra, felt being one of the most iconic and incomparable bands in VK .
@Paraph I find that somewhat ironic considering that they're all Japanese. In any case, I'm glad they stuck to their style. It's really made them one of my all time favorite bands.
@saishuu Same here! I don't find many Kagrra, fans, so it's nice to know there is a small community of us here ^^
@nomemorial Exactly. Bands like them really make the VK scene shine. I really appreciate the gravity and the themes they tackled in their songs. And the beautiful imagery in the lyrics are very much enhanced by the amazing instrumentals. Listening to their releases never gets tiring.

I've been on this "revisiting discographies" kick these past few weeks and started from the beginning of Kagrra,'s stuff last night. They really started on all cylinders - their songwriting is so unique and unlike anything I've ever heard, even on the early releases. One of those bands that I want to show to people who don't dig/get VK and just force them to listen so they can understand why they're so great.

monkeybanana4 reacted to YuyoDrift in i wonder how Kagrra, felt being one of the most iconic and incomparable bands in VK .
Aside from their Kotodama and Utakata singles, my exposure to them was very slim. I did know plenty of early 00' fans of VK that adored Kagrra so much and so I know that internationally they were very popular.
I remember their cease of activities was a real downer for many but I had no idea what had possibly been going on during their career or how they were doing, that is a shame to hear.

regardless of anything, seeing a small group like this here talking about Kagrra, makes me happy. ❤️so thanks y'all 🖤

didn't they say in a really old interview that other bands made fun of them for their traditional kimono-style appearance when they initially started? i'd say given the success that they did have, hopefully they were proud. looking back now, kagrra, were on a whole other level compared to many other vk acts.

monkeybanana4 got a reaction from yomii in ive been pronouncing chedoara wrong all this time...this is embarassing
Now I feel bad for butchering the album title since it has such a cool meaning with lots of thought put into it ^^; Thank you for letting us know the right way of saying it @yomii XD
o_o That's how you pronounce Zyean's name? Wow. Things I'll never get right about visual kei, lol.
