Huh, this sounds very interesting. I can imagine that being the case. And yes, I also thought most fans were into decora 😂 Oh boy, was I wrong....
I still remember people buying sex pot revenge in online shops 🤣 Seems like such a long time ago. 
The style of sub cultures in general is in such a decline....15 years ago there were a lot of punks and goths around, nowadays people still enjoy the music, but the stores are all closing up because people don't tend to dress to such an extreme. Ahhh, the good old 90s/early 2000s...I feel like such a grandma now.

Kagrra, always had lovely album covers but San and Shizuku have to be their best. 

All I will say is that there is a reason most of us will say what we listen to most are acts like X, MM, Versailles, GazettE etc...where are the newer acts that inspire us like those ones have?
But, this is largely because I feel there isn't a lot of genuine intent in it right now. Compared to having musicians that used vk as a way of self expression and adding a new dimension to the music,  you mostly have standard rock bands that want to dress up because of the history of its success. I also believe the imagery has grown really homogeneous. You get people dressing exactly like more successful acts before them with no improvisation. How often do we have to see a rhythm guitarist that looks exactly like Teru? The lack of creativity is born from a place of dis-ingenuity.
Visual kei has become synonymous with marketing gimmick. Of course, there was always a marketing aspect to it, but there was also a rebellious nature to it, a way of expressing one's inner self and rejecting conformity. Adults on the large seem really afraid to be this way these days. So it's quite sad!
But, I believe like all things, a resurgence will come. There are people who experience the artists I enjoy for the first time now and think "This is really interesting!" For example, that youtuber who makes all those reaction videos where he experiences Japanese artists and usually really enjoys them! This has been my experience showing Japanese music to others as well.
Anything that is or was a pop culture phenomenon will fade out for a bit and come back eventually in full force. Remember how vaporwave was 'ironic' at first, "haha it's so corny and 80s isn't that silly" and now so many people are creating new genres to tap into sounds and moods of the 80s and obsessing over cyberpunk themes and imagery. I don't think visual kei will be too different in the end.

I never said he wasn't entitled to his opinion. I was just making a point. Of course he's entitled to think there's been an objective decline in quality, but I am entitled to disagree with him. Not every statement I make has to be either emblematic of an "inferiority complex" of which you speak or some huge manifesto about some band I like, so stop putting words in my mouth.

You can see them in any scene. People who grew up listening to somethin in their teen years will stick to that and claim that anything that didn't somehow fuel their teenage angst is worse than watever shit they blasted on while sulking because their teacher hated them or whatever.
 
Just like people who did move on will revisit with nostalgia crappy songs they know are crappy yet love due to said nostalgia. 

Said every VK elitist who got stuck listening to moth-ridden bands yet is still active in the scene shitting on anything post 2010 that comes out lol

Sure thing, I'll let you know! You're right that the art is nice, as is to be expected from Otomate the plot is also really interesting as you mentioned. Without giving away any spoilers (and tbh I kinda can't atm because I'm not far into it), it's somewhat similar to Amnesia: Memories but it's more intriguing and the guys are nicer, lol. They kinda look similar but they act a bit more... tolerable. Dgmw, I liked Amnesia, but some of the routes were a bit... 👀

I bought the game because the plot sounded interested and the artwork looked nice, but it's been sadly sitting on my shelf I've been meaning to play it one of these days, lol. Once you finish it, I'd love to know your thoughts on it

I bought Psychedelica Of The Black Butterfly yesterday and it's soooo goooood so far. I think Kagiha is best boi, followed by Karasuba. God, why do I always go for the one with the green colour scheme? I swear, no exceptions, I always go for the green guy, and if there isn't a green guy, then the yellow guy (see my current profile pic; liable to change to Kagiha once I finish the game). Maybe it's because I like the kind, gentle types and green is often seen as a kind, gentle colour? 🤔

I came here to talk about my problem with procrastination, and found this video! For me, the problem is that since last year the panic monster just stays quiet, and I am honestly worrying about my future. Because it is not that I don’t care about my studies, I am actually quite motivated. I am just tired of pulling all nighters. I procrastinate on many things in life.
please wish me kuck or my last two papers  that are due soon!
