  1. The OHP says that the mode of touring cycle ends on 12th October. So I guess there won't be a mode of GAUZE/MISSA/ARCHE. I wonder how they will complete the spine...

^ what's your point with this old news?

Which of both? Hadn't seen the tracklist on here (or can't remember lol) and the rips came out today, so that's hardly old?

Also, the mode of DVDs have officially been leaked. :3

  4. Dunno how they plan to complete that picture. There are two more DVDs left, MACABRE and Wtd.

If each letter of their band name takes one spine's width, there would logically be four more DVDs, though.

So I suppose we do get mode of GAUZE and mode of ARCHE, but they'll be last because we already had mode of "Gauze"? and Arche @ NB some years ago.

  5. It's still accessible via waybackmachine and I've scavenged it for all interesting Diru stuff, anyway. So good riddance, I suppose.

In the meantime, I've found some more old videos (and uploaded them to YT). I also found some more information regarding old tereko, but there's no way to get them, at the moment. And my contact from batsu won't reply, either .__.

    No.

Besides most features don't work and people haven't been online for years so you won't have any luck there.

Discussing Dir on batsu was always quite the thrill. Wasn't uncommon with hundreds of pages in a thread... I think communities work differently these days what with the advent of instagram and twitter and stuff having divided the scene.

Yes, that's definitely true. I've been through the entire DEG section on there to find more bootleg links etc., it's an interesting sight, the forum. I think it was most active around 2008? At that time, I barely even knew of DEG and certainly had no clue about bootlegs. It was all Pokémon and other stuff back then lol

Anyway, I followed one of batsu's user's words and managed to get a shit ton of bootlegs. It's gonna be a pain to upload them to YT, lol.

  7. tereko comes from tape recorder, it's the Japanese word for bootlegs/fan recordings.

And of course I have all the batsu stuff, I was even in contact with one of the guys from there, but he's been MIA since some months :/

I suppose nobody actually has a batsu account I could use, no?^^

  8. I'm well acquainted with both JMN and TNP. Sadly, the latter has been inactive for a year now (and he just uploaded regular stuff, anyway), and JMN only uploaded what everyone already has, and now he created a new channel (JapaneseMusicNerd, hence JMN), so he's out of the picture as well. Hell, I even got the Kiyomizudera tape before he managed to^^

What I'm looking for is early-era stuff, the batsu stuff, you know? For example, everyone knows about the Karma/Aoitsuki demo, but according to some website, there's another demo, but I've never seen a picture of it. So what's up with that? And what else do the old traders hoard on their drives? I want the 97-02 stuff :/

I think I've said it here before, but the average Japanese person doesn't know DEG or even half the bands we talk about here.

And let's be honest, these bands aren't exactly popular in the west either. But the western fan base is ridiculously rabid in the way they idolize jrock artists, and it happens in condensed, close knit online communities like this one. It gives the illusion that these bands are the biggest thing in the world.

This, tbh. DEG is not half as famous in Japan as most foreign fans imagine them to be.

  10. Yes, it's without vocals, I know. It's not so much about listening to it, it's more about collecting releases from my favourite band (or their side projects). I mean, when you collect old cars, you don't necessarily drive them every day, right?

  11. I actually have a physical copy of Kyo's first book, just need the second one with "mama". :)

Regarding the TMNS demo tape, yes, that's what I'm looking for. I've never seen it ripped anywhere, some dude on batsu had it back in the day but I can't register an account there.

It's one of the most rarest releases, along with the message tapes, DEG live in Hongkong, the GAUZE promo LP and some other stuff.

Oh and Sea of Retards is a hoax, I know that much. :P

And I still don't know who the person on that picture is. Is it Kisaki or who? :D

  12. Yeah, I really like the old stuff. On that note, do you guys have any rare stuff to share? I'm pretty sure I have almost everything they have ever released, but just in case...? Maybe the TWO MONSTROUS NUCLEAR STOCKPILES song? :3

  13. According to setlist.fm, they played the MISSA version of Byo""Shin on the latter half of TMOAB tour. They also played the "kaede"~if trans...~ version of Karma on those dates.
