    This came into my head instantly. Early Alice Nine kicked so much ass. 華想夢想紙 is a lovely mini, generally not very nü metal, but this song of course.
    7 STRINGS THO

    Also, if ムック's Kuchiki no Tou is considered nü metal, that's probably the best nü metal record I've ever heard.

    Tfw you came looking to see if you agreed with a top 10 list but there wasn't actually a top 10 list.

    Yeah, I agree. 大日本異端芸者的脳味噌逆回転絶叫音源集 is one of my favorites "albums." It's convenient that I don't need to get all of the minis to listen to the music.

    Ahh I gotcha. Just wondering as I know some of those early ones are crazy rare. That Hanamuke/Gazette split live CD as well.... I hope it well bless my ears one day.

    And btw, aren't those compilations/singles/minis great? 大日本異端芸者的脳味噌中吊り絶頂絶景音源集 was my windows down, crazy loud car jam for a few years... Good  times.

    For me it always helps that I am into a wide variety of music genres. If a friend gets to the point where I've shown them some vk/japanese stuff, it usually just strikes them as another obscure thing rem is into it. If this doesn't really apply to you, my best advice is probably something along the lines of "Yeah, it's really fascinating the kind of things that come out of that country. It's like because they are so socially conservative and repressed, a lot of their art is just so much more out there and creative."

    Part of it depends on what kind of friends you have as well. Open minded people probably won't bat an eye or ear, but if you do have those who just don't really get it, just hold your ground and don't give into laughing about it the same way they might. Idk if this helps, but good luck.

    Bless this thread ✨ classic oshare is way better than that crap they have today ;w;

    I don't listen to a lot of it, but I certainly do love Icchi (★NOハウス)'s bands before he crashed and burned ♥ his older bands were especially great~ his goth bands were certainly short-lived tho ;-;

    I also looked up Oshare Dorobou (お洒落泥棒); vocalist was really hot 💦💦 couldn't find their music on youtubez, but I did find that they redid some songs last year.....................

    Hello everyone,
    I didn't find an other topic like this one so be free to remove it if I missed it.

    As a j-music listener for a while now, especially vk, I heard a lot from my entourage. The mains subjects are about the dress, the boy/girl looks and how japanese sound for people. I feel like to avoid the question flood it as to be a type of music that we can only enjoy ourself, like if it couldn't be share with others because it not enough mainstream.

    Do you have some anecdote to share about how you may be perceived by your entourage?

    My name's Sara, I am from Austria and I listen to J-Rock since more than ten years now It all started with Malice Mizer and Moi Dix Mois (they're still and probably forever my favourites), other than that I adore Mejibray and The Black Swan and lots of other very Indie Bands (Fixer, DAMY, グリーヴァ and ゴシップ, for example).

    I've been to Japan two times now (2014 and 2015) and I'll go back in Winter 2017.

    Well... Now I'm running out of ideas what else to tell Feel free to ask if you wanna know something, I won't bite

    Sakito (though not a great singer) can barely even sing throughout the performance and Miyavi is just bawling his eyes out. that sing along gets me everytime. I still tear up when I see this.

    Hello, all.

    I was hoping you could share some of your favorite live clips that fall under the category of most emotionally intense performance. These tend to be the clips I revisit the most, because there's something quite satisfying about a sentimental moment in a live setting. Here's my vk/jrock picks:

    ムック Mucc - 朽木の塔 Kuchiki no Tou (??? 2004)
         Tatsurou. That's all that needs to be said here, really. Footage is actually taken from two separate performances, so do your best trying to figure out which one the audio's from. Whichever, this performance kicks ass. I'm always amazed by how unforgivingly dark the performances in this era often were. Again, Tatsurou...

    DELUHI - s[k]ape:goat (Shibuya C.C. Lemon Hall 2011)
         Generally really hype song and hype performance, but the bit @ 2:05 - 3:00 sends shivers down my spine. Just such a cool buildup and the vocal work/screams here are ace.

    Killie - H19.09.07 (a.k.a Ressurection a.k.a キリストは復活する) (Shinjuku Loft 2008)
         YES!!! If you're unfamiliar with this song or band, try your best to sit through the whole thing. It's a bit unorthodox in structure and really can only be consumed in a full listening. Pretty much the only proper live recording of Killie and man, it makes me wish they had recorded a whole show rather than just this one song. Still, incredibly cool. The cohesion of this group in their bittersweet stop-and-go antics is exhilarating.

    るう゛ぃえ Ruvie - パラダイス・ロスト Paradise Lost (Shibuya O-EAST 2008)
         With this clip in particular, I feel like the synchronicity of the members is what brings a lot of that convincing emotional energy. I really love the vocals and guitar/bass lines during the quietish section right before the last sort of blowout at the end. Shame they couldn't do the backing vocals live in that bit, but still pretty good imo.

    Please post your favorites! I'm excited to see your picks
