  1. It's funny going all these years assuming Kamaitachi sounded like The Dead Pop Stars and Genkaku Allergy,
When actually they sound more like An Cafe and Guruguru Eigakan

      Himeaimichu

14 year old me would be disappointed but current 20 year old me is pleasantly surprised

  2. I fucking hate how I can't create an account on anything anymore without putting in a phone number. You shouldn't need to have to pay for a fucking phone service just to fucking use twitter and facebook.

Oh and burner number apps don't fucking work with twitter

    1. platy

      platy

      that shit is so intrusive

  3. I finally found a cheap peaked cap (old school cap that military generals used to wear) that wasn't Soviet or Nazi. Soviet Ones generally don't come in black, and my parents will refuse to buy a Nazi one, even if I tell them I will take the swastika off.

I'm going to use it with a Gakuran (Japanese male school uniform that was once a military outfit) for a Vkei look I'm making

  4. If there was a VisualKei awards show, we all know which 4 bands would win all the awards.

Yes, I'm salty about the Crunchyroll Anime Awards xD

  5. Anyone know why on Memento Mori's first album, Mosiac Jishukisei appears on some tracklistings but not the album?

    Is it a hidden track?

  6. Currently making one of those world replacement memes, but with a Dir En Grey video. It's gonna be "Tsumi to Batsu, but every time Kyo screams, the pitch shifts and the sound distorts"

  7. Imagine if Scarce did VisualKei news.

"Hey guys, scarce here, so let's get into the news. This bass player, Kisaki, you may have seen him in photos with AvelCain, really famous, used to play in what would become Dir En Grey. Apparently, his twitter has been taken over, again, and nudes and DMs have been leaked, along with pictures of him and other Phantasmagoria at Hot Topic of all places. Next, Tanuki rumours that [Insert Vkei musician here] is married, and is gay. We reached out to him... and got no reply."

  8. So I was reading around the forum post about AvelCain's disbandment, and I noticed a lot of people saying if they reformed, they should sign to Ains.

While Ains definitely is better than Shimizuya, knowing Yukika's history with controlling bands and all, I don't think Ains would be the best for Karma and Zen.

I mean, Grieva's early years were pretty much under 75% Yukika's control, a lot of their early discography being Diru covers. Of course, they seem to have more creative freedom now.

But Karma and Zen (And any band for that matter) deserve as much creative freedom as they can get.

They also deserve what I call "band security" (kind of like job security, if you know what I mean) that Ains definitely can't provide. Yukika is known for abandoning his less successful bands.

I'd recommend the ex AvelCain members either form their own label, join a label owned by a band who knows the struggle with limited creativity, or be completely indie

  9. CrowXClass (my first ever Vkei band) came up randomly in my suggestions while going through Avelcain songs, without the "Reccomended for you" part. A part of me now feels warm xD

  10. I remember I used to like the drums used in AvelCain songs.

Now that snare sample is annoying me to death, dear gods. Why didn't they just stop using samples when Byou joined?

  11. So everyone knows that a lot of 90's Vkei songs change key and groove in the chorus, but does anyone know why? Like, who started that?

  12. Wow. My joke prediction that Avex would start losing a sh*t ton of money was sort of right. Only, people aren't boycotting Avex because of Nightmare going on hiatus (That was the joke part) but rather, it's something even more unrealistic. But one of the Avex sublables, Avex pictures, actually banned the export of products outside of Japan. I've seen my fair share of evil record labels *cough* Shimizuya *cough*, but Avex is one of the worst. First, you have the standard overworking bands, then you have the fact they pay them a crappy amount, which again, standard of the huge corporations. Then, they jack up the prices of the music because no one is buying their shit, effectively ripping off the hardcore fans because of earlier said thing. But it is also filled with some of the stupidest businessmen I've ever seen. I thought Yoshiki was a bad businessman, but this move makes Yoshiki look like Steve Jobs.

Now, IDK if Avex Trax or the other sublabels will be affected, but I honestly don't care

  13. There should be a rank on here titled "Yukika's Tax Filer" xD

    sorrynotsorry

  14. I just found "High Collar Ondo" by Memento Mori on iTunes. Literally, it's the only song they have on there. But, who makes the money off of it? Memento Mori is technically disbanded, and as far as I know, AKA-On records is closed. I mean, the members of Kuroyuri could still make money off of it, and there is a possibility AKA-On records could still technically exist? I mean, their website is still up. Though, most links on the site are to a dead end, and the section for Raddock isn't even clickable

  15. Cube by JyuLie be giving off those old school (Like 1970's) Metal vibes. Especially with that bluesy solo

  16. Since there is a vocaloid based on GackT, I wonder what a vocaloid based on Mana would be like. OH WAIT.

I know what it'd sound like: *Silence*

  17. There are Vkei bands named D, S, and M. Now all we need is one named B and we'd have a fetish on our hands

  18. Odoru Hakuchuumu by Grieva reminds me of Kakuu To Genjitsu from La:Sadie's' first demo

  19. Ningen Isu is more than just a band, it's an experience.
You feel like you've been transported to this psychedelic world, where everything is full of sabbathy riffs, and everything sort of doesn't make sense, but feels right.
Then the vocals come in, and you feel like you've been transported back to the Meiji-Taisho period, with Kabuki like vocals. Everything around you is like a psychedelic Ukiyo-we woodblock print.
And no, I did not smoke anything before listening to them xD

  20. I always wondered how Ningen Isu is able to make the Taishogoto (A type of Japanese harp from the 1920's with typewriter keys) sound so traditional. I mean, most Taishogoto pieces are normally Koto pieces, but they don't sound so traditional, unless they decide to attach Nylon strings (which is occaisonally done). IDK, it all just may be in my head. I think more bands in general should use the Taishogoto if they want to experiment with a traditional sound, since it's quite easy to play.

  21. Does anyone know anything about Mad Face Records (Dezert's label)?

I can't find anything on them

  22. Chuck Berry just died...

RIP, Inventor of Rock N' Roll. I hope you'll enjoy playing guitar up there with the gods, or wherever you end up

  23. The only one of two youtube channels that had good quality footage of Kabuki plays have been taken down...

And it was the only one that had act one of Benten Kozou..

  24. So I made this meme/audio edit/experiment, where I took Kurui Dorei, but kept it in minor key (at least I think I did), since the original song switches from minor to major a lot. I at first did it to see if it would make the song any heavier. It actually fits well together. Thank gods Kuroyume were able to really play on time, or a normal listener could tell the audio was edited.

  25. Just saw a zodiac signs post that claimed Babymetal and Wagakki Band were VisualKei *Cringe*
