I think it's a respect thing and also the funeral services have taken place already. sometimes it's later but normally this happens in the week after the person dies.

I don't know if there is any tradition in Japan to cover this...

I just beg you not to discuss which illness he had cause the familiy does not want this.

I know some members of his family and therefore I plea you not to discuss too much about it.
