Chi reacted to inartistic in KISAKI conspiracy? Strange things I noticed related to Kisaki's old bands Levia and LAYBIAL
    【EXCLUSIONS】
I posit, but can't prove, that KISAKI (1994 solo project) and De=prive are *real*, bringing the scope of my posts to Levia, LAYBIAL, and SHËY≠DË.
    KISAKI (1994 solo project)
It is *canon* that KISAKI released a solo demotape in 1994 with STELLA MARIA vocalist Ray. The rest of the [disputed] canon discography wasn't known until 2007's BEYOND THE KINGDOM, but this demotape was listed on UNDER CODE PRODUCTION's website since at least 2004. That, and the fact that it features a (relatively) well-known musician (STELLA MARIA's vocalist Ray), I find it unlikely that this release/artist was faked.
    De=prive
This is actually the least-known band in KISAKI's history. In fact, it's *non-canon*―that is, it came from Japanese VK fans rather than KISAKI himself. Since there's no reason for fans to lie about such a small band (with no releases), and because Japanese VK fans are rather trustworthy with information (moreso than overseas fans or KISAKI himself), I'm comfortable asserting that De=prive was *real*.
(If KISAKI's *canon* live history is *real*, I would guess that De=prive was the unnamed session band in 1994.)

    【MYTH_CEO DEMOTAPES】
As pointed out in previous posts, KISAKI has been selling shit (anonymously) via Y!J auctions. In early 2014 he started selling Levia demotapes, and I bought almost all of them. Here are descriptions of those, followed by an update (canon + semi-canon) Levia discography:
    -
    1. 滅びの序章 image
    ● Green-tinted insert with cover art and spine, but no tracklisting or member information. Contains one track, 2:11, presumably 滅びの序章.
    ● I believe this is the same one that someone else purchased (although their copy was sold much later, I think).
    -
    2. 滅びの序章 (grayscale) image
    ● Same cover, but grayscale. Again, no tracklisting or member information, same 2:11 track as before.
    ● Again, not listed in *canon* discography―according to *semi-cannon* auction description, live distributed.
    ● However, it does appear to be old (rather than modern-made), as there is some yellow discoloration and wear on the insert. Additionally, the top of the insert appears frayed, as if it was originally longer, but was carefully torn apart.
    -
    3. 「KELOID」 -Not For Sale- image 1 / image 2
    ● Insert is clearly modern-made―background is pixellated while text box is sharp and uses a (sort of) modern font. One track, about 2:40, presumably KELOID.
    ● Not listed in *canon* discography (there is a canon KELOID, but it has two tracks and different cover art). According to *non-canon*, live distributed.
    -
    4. 「KELOID」 image
    ● Again, modern-made, as the insert was clearly printed with a modern inkjet printer, and creases/wear are printed images rather than physical features. It features two tracks, KELOID (5:30) and PRAY (3:57).
    ● This is listed in the *canon* discography, and features the correct cover art.
    ● Note that this tape's version of KELOID is 5:30 while the previous one was 2:40... and they're completely different songs.
    ● And let me just point out that KISAKI saw the same person buying these two tapes with the same Y!J account within the span of one month... you'd think he would at least use the same song in his faked demotape o-o.)
    -
So here's our updated Levia discography, with *semi-canon* entries in blue:

So, being the good Dad I am, I do all I can to ensure my 4 Year Old daughter is exposed to stellar music so that she doesn't grow up listening to the Abomination that is American Pop music.

In my pursuit of this, I recently turned on 猫又 [Nekomata] by AvelCain, knowing that she would probably love the "Meow" sample in the song intro.  She loved it so much that she asks me to play it every time we go for a drive in the car, and she seriously shakes, moves, and head-bangs to the music as soon as that "Meow" sounds.

I shall continue this experiment to ensure that she not only learns to enjoy Rock music, but Japanese Rock music.

I highly recommend XAA-XAA!! But I must admit I'm super biased. There are some songs that are rather Belmosaic-esque but for the most part it's a lot darker than Belmosaic ever was.

It was such a pain getting a hold of physical copies of Belmosaic CDs too (I'm still missing リツコさん and ピリオド)
So this is one of my collections of CDs I'm most proud of

    I saw Belmosaic 2 times and I've seen XAA-XAA 7 times?
It's a really fun atmosphere and I love the band's attention to detail--live, in the artwork for their releases, etc.
They're currently the most interesting band for me personally.

Definitely hoping they aren't overworking themselves either! But I also love having so much music from them right from the start...!

As for why people here like him, Phantasmagoria was super popular with the western fanbase and that's probably how 90% of the people here first knew of him and / or why they like him. People who got into vkei after 2009 blatantly don't care about them, though.

He's also probably the single most important person in visual-indies since he knows literally everyone + helped organize events that benefited dozens of bands that weren't even signed to his label.

People love artists for different reasons, some of which either can't be explained or can't be understood by others. Most hatred for this man spawned from rumours, blown-up and exaggerated opinions by people who barely even know him, and simple idiocy. But to get on topic; he carried the Kansai scene of Visual Kei on his back since he formed the Matina label. Musicians and fans respect him for all his dedicated work and his passion to not sway from his intentions and ideals, unlike many other artists who are just following the current hype. I could write a novel, but let's keep it clear and compact.

Chi reacted to Saishu in [REVIEW] The GazettE - DOGMA
I more or less joined the forums just to post my thoughts on this album, which says a lot for this release, though not exactly in a positive way.

Honestly, I was really excited to hear DOGMA, especially after I had seen the PVs for the title tracks and "OMINOUS." I was under the impression that Gazette waiting two years instead of dropping a fourth full length in four years had worked to their advantage. The title track had an interesting structure; more about forward movement up a hill and then suddenly dropping down without looking back. It's not your typical "verse chorus verse" affair, in fact, it's hard to even say the song has verses and choruses since it's just one new section after another. Tempo and meter changes abound. It's, dare I say, rather progressive, and I like how they utilized the female background vocals in a haunting manner towards the end.

Then here comes "RAGE." I admit I like this track on an instrumental level, but Ruki's goofy ass English lyrics pull me out of my enjoyment a little bit. After that I just sort of space out and the rest of the album melds into this mass of generic, heavy riffing and absence of melody until we reach the end with "OMINOUS". Hell, even DUM SPIRO SPERO, Dir en grey's heaviest record, has melody all over the place. Name a song from DSS and I can sing you the chorus (except for "DECAYED CROW" because fuck that song). As has already been mentioned here, are Uruha and Aoi both still in the band? Because I can't tell! Where's Reita? I love the heaviest of heavy music and I dig the dark theme, but it's just not executed very well here. And really, this isn't an evolution of the band in any way, shape, or form; this is the same damn thing they've been doing since TOXIC, just with down tuned guitars. I guess I'm happy they shook things up a little bit (because lord knows I still can't believe they tried to pass "SHIVER" and "Ibitsu" off as two different songs), but this is still just more undercooked music from Gazette. Seems like DIM was the creative peak.

But, MAN! "DOGMA" is such a great track, though! What happened? I feel like it was the first song they wrote for the album and they KNEW it was gold, so they decided to run with the idea of an album full of heavier, darker tracks. But the well had already run dry. They blew their load. It's a shame...
