the big oldie band threads here are always so good its always us ol' queens talking a bunch of interesting doodoo and throwing actually funny shade at each other and the grandpas we love! whoever suggested (@r...) ryuusei for plastic tree is SOOO on the money i swear its already pura chords anyway they just gotta bring they dreaminess n its a COVER

its funny cuz now its a loop label staff know bands flop so they wont send over actually good bands except to the handful of good promoters in the scene who have shown results SO the other promoters just take kamijo 2x a year + some flop willing to do anything for free. also a lot of current bands don't have any plans on going abroad, which is why i think yukika isn't into it at all. then again, once a company has a good experience with a con or organizer, it spreads around and who knows after pentacum's success (??) a new bunch of bands will become interested all over again to go abroad. also, no promoters actually like vk anymore to know whats cool and interesting in the japan instead they'll bring europhile bands and anyone on a major label

i hope dezert get to flex their full fanboy status and not cover ranchuu, zetsubou, daikirai, bouzenjishitsu etc they have covered MUCC enough in their own songs and go for something obscure n emo i.e kuchiki no tou also...im so excited for ggg's contribution bc they're gonna slay literally anything they cover

there's still potential!! they're good in that they take a lot of what was good about avelcain but don't directly copy a lot...still really rough stuff tho. i also find the avelcain worship bizarre since avelcain fans don't follow this band and they still don't have many fans from ripping them off.

i love the generic "x vs y" two man tour title but soan vs hitomi takes it to new and HILARIOUSLY ironic heights

sucks to see them kick the can before their first oneman even, but they looked and sounded incredibly confused and i think their staff was even more at fault then the band. they gave these guys a fucking weibo page and full chinese+english translations on YT videos so they were trying to market to chinese people, westerners and japanese people at the same fucking time with a band having a mostly unmarketable sound. i think the band was an experiment gone wrong by some weird vk idol splice people behind the scenes with a lot of money put into production/promotion/lalalala but little live/instore turnout. miyoshi is talented though, he needs to go on his own and make some massive grieva tier old school band because he was the only one (i think) who was an actual old school vk fan.
