Speaking of which, it made me think of some of my favorite lynch. tracks that weren't on the best of:
-Mujun to sora
-rasen
-roaring in the dark
-ecdysis
-cultic my execution
-Before you know it
yeah its a shame they put so much new shit on there when they could have put songs like those ^ rerecorded
meh they gotta make money somehow
-
They had arlequin and daizystripper earlier this year. Buglug is next.
that was just for the live stream no show, nothing. i doubt arlequin are big enough to do an LA live anyway
-
What did all ya'lls think of their new best-of anniversary album?
Me personally, I didn't find it all too exciting. It was cool at first hearing their older tracks re-recorded but it didn't stay that way. They weren't terribly different, if at all, and if anything lost the feel of the originals through over production.
Except songs like "Blasted Back Bone" which needed some heavier mixing from the beginning IMO. That stuff is gooooood.
What are some of your favorite re-recordings?
Mine are:
-from the end
-I'm sic b cuz luv you
-The Blasted Back bone
++++++ambivalent ideal & last nite
past exodus are lynch.'s only listenable songs production wise,
ignoring the massive clipping and loudness disasterso i think those two especially needed a punchier rework and imo it sounds awesome. -
i go through so many phases so keeping track of my little musical phases is pretty much pointless and would require a new account every few months. i just like looking at the data tbh.

i can't wait until i turn 18 so i can get my 9goats tattoo
-
im so salty that they came to toronto but i couldn't attend
souvlaki is easily one of the most timeless indie rock releases and it sounds more amazing with every listen
-
hopefully now the band implodes and tsukasa and zero have no choice to remake d'espairsray with hizumi who's probably below the poverty line and somehow push kiryu into it

yndi halda are awesome (hasn't been stated enough)
also, if im not mistaken they're currently putting together a new album so that's fucking exciting.

shinya looks good enough in uroko to make it the best diru pv ever
jk
the unraveling never happened dont speak of it -
Are you saying "the less visual" they are, but STILL in the realm of VK?
Or just anything that's not visual?
Because the second one is just false.
Interesting theory if it's the first one... Need more examples.
i mean like in the scope of visual kei, but its not always just looks but also how visual the music sounds--if that makes any sense. the example i had in mind was bands like deadman/lynch./the god and death stars/plastic tree, basically bands that are borderline visual and have a pretty heavy western influence in their sound, i haven't heard crazy stories about the fans from any of these bands and thats probably because their more aligned with the west than with the vk scene. the other side where the craziness comes into play are the very visual and traditional bands since imo vkei is based in fanaticism anyway so the bands that indulge this have the crazier fans. you could say the more aligned with western musical philosophies the more chilled the fan base, but there's always an except so i'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

imo the less visual a band the better the fanbase
ignore dir en grey -
still grieving the loss of amber gris and im in total denial dear god WHYYYYYY

lmao why doesnt soan leave i cant imagine that he has a reason to stay considering how bad he made the situation sound and considering that moran is practically the hitomi show. soan should make his own band, hitomi should live off his mitsu and sizna form a band with some other relevant nagoya peeps and write such fucking intense music it burns moran and sugar into the ground.
-
also im madly in love with lamiel & blast at the moment so can anyone recommend something similar (doesnt have to be nagoya) with the old school sound that doesnt sound like clogged nasal passages and chorus abuse? thanks

Good doom/drone groups.
Doesn't have to be japanese necessarily.
Completely no experience in that field except that I listen to Church of Misery and Boris.
i love pallbearer, yob, isis, bell witch, samothrace, cult of luna, neurosis
they're all pretty recent acts so its a little far from the classic trad doom that Bear recommended but if you like some adventurous doom give these all a listen~

the day i get my degree is the day i fly over to japan and become wataru's tsunagari/sex friend -
Wtf gay people like visual kei????gasp?!?!?!?!?im not the only one??!?!?!
vkei made me question everything in my life LOL i used to identify as gay but if the visual guys were to hypothetically identify as non binary (which is totally possible--*cough* wataru *cough*) then that technically wouldn't make me gay so thats why i see no purpose in defining my sexuality. I also identify as non-binary so sexuality is a whole lot of confusing.

add me @ http://www.last.fm/user/stranging
i add people who have similar taste in metal/indie/visual but i'll accept anyone LOL

has anyone given the new enslaved a listen? thoughts? i haven't gone around to listening to it yet but i loved AEO and RIITIIR (a lil less than AEO but thoughts like hammers is prolly my fav enslaved song) so i hope it matches them in quality.
