  3. HANDS LIKE HOUSES IS MY SHIT

  4. Hmm this is interesting and I never thought to look at the big picture like that. I definitely stream a lot more now but I still buy things I really want to have a physical copy to. But I can see how you loose a sense of the artistic aspect too so it "looses its value" but there are even some bands that only release digital copies of stuff idk man this is tricky.
  5. p sure imma try to go to Crossfaith's anniversary tour tho.

  6. Woah i forgot I helped with this before I left. Even though I did Tenten.. I'm going to say Ryo from baroque and kannivalism is the most surprising... Tenten changes so much it's lost it's wow factor. But with Ryo, I mean he's basically been in two generations of VK... Not to mention he was somewhat of a trend setter in his early days. I'm not sure what his popularity is now or how his struggles have effected it... but I know he went through some hardcore depression (I have like 3 copies of that book so I have two for sale? LOL anyway) I'm not sure how he feels currently or if he's still struggling and I'm unsure how that plays a role in his style and musical expression... But I feel like he's really had a special journey... so yeah that guy is something else.
  7. Looks like Paledusk is going through another member change. Katchang announced he will be withdrawing from the band after their live on August 19th. The band seems to be handling it well as they already have a game plan and candidates for replacement that will be announced at a later time. After 8/19 they just plan on support guitarists until further notice. Katchang is leaving for personal reasons and they apologize for the sudden announcement. If I'm not mistake he did say he wanted to continue music... but from what I gathered is he has other stuff to tend to. Best of luck to the band and Katchang. :< source
  8. Yo, so Survive Said the Prophet was all up in Oregon's business (not sure what part but i think it was a skip-hop from where I live). Anyway, looks like they were workign on new material and recording as they announced not TOO long ago that they will be releasing their 3rd album titled WABI SABI. This album will have two types (just like how they do it in VK) where one comes with a DVD and one is just regular. The one with the DVD will come with a Making of documentary of the new album along with a digest of their FIXED Tour. It will have 9 tracks total and comes out on August 2nd. Here's a lyric video from the album
  9. I haven't been able to get my hands on their last one lol
  10. PRAISE announced they will release a new EP this summer on August 2nd. The EP will be titled "インテンジブル (intangible)" and consist of 4 tracks at 1200yen. GOSTRAIGHT / 3. MACHI NO KEMURI / 4. 口に出さない事

  15. rockonjapan.net is a website that a friend and I have made to help expose the Japanese rock/metal scene to a broader audience. If you're located in the states and would like to volunteer to pass flyers out and post them around your city to help bridge the musical gap, please shoot me a message for more details? The site itself will launch on June 1st !

I feel like this applies even to things not related to school. This was me with some car stuff I needed to handle the other day.

I ended up just voting Yoshiatsu is a god. I wouldn't have even cared about DADAROMA if I wasn't in to Crazy Shampoo first. But in all honesty I listen to neither lately.

The family I have on Facebook are the ones who aren't heavy on social media to begin with and I don't use Facebook much these days anymore either. I've learned to ignore requests from family members I know are dramatic and crazy and if they ask me I simply play it off like I don't use Facebook much and that I don't really know how it works. If they make a point to extend the issue I call them on their bullshit and tell them to stop wasting my time. Swerve

What song is it. It depends on the type of song vs my equipment. I may be limited.
  22. When people call visual kei "Japanese nu metal" I feel my eyes roll a little further back in to my face.

No. Visual Kei is a cluster fuck of different genres with a theme slapped over it. Not to be a genre nazi but I get annoyed when someone only listens to visual kei bands, claim it's the only good music in the world, and prance around like they're the gods of genres. Not saying all are like that... in fact very few but it still annoys me. Tbh I'll say hey idk what this band even is but they're tight before I call the whole scene Japanese nu metal

Plus if anything, Metalcore is dominating the Vkei scene today as Nu Metal is slowly falling into obscurity. Of course, to call Vkei "Japanese Core" would also be an overgeneralisation, especially with the thousands of meanings "core" can take on (i.e Hardcore Punk, Punk, Metalcore, Metal in general, Hardcore EDM, etc.)
