beni reacted to Pretsy in Youtube pages of bandomen (separate from promotional/commercial purposes)
As we all know, various bands have their own Youtube pages for commercial/promotion purposes - but what about bandomen/members of these bands having their own youtube pages, where they'd post something almost irrelevant to their respective bands' songcraft / actual promotion purposes? As with that instagram thread you have noticed lately, post speficic youtube urls of your fav. bandomen's "separate work" (or semi-personal stuff) here, for instance:
Shou (Alice Nine)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC381H7iNJLOUiZijZVypPzg
(Classical/Flamenco covers w/ piano & guitars*, random comps, specific self-covers and random goofy videos)
*yes, he's a multi-instrumentalist!
Tora (Alice Nine)
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmCmZr5-yw9yoUFCdJnaWWw
(Only two self-covers so far)
Junichi Konno (Karasu (not the vk band - the indie rock Karasu))
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9VnrfroWDUV6Tfk-vIxuJQ
(self-covers)

beni reacted to anadentone in What things do you wish your fav. Jrockers would do?
Do you wish they would tour in your nation?
reunite?
become bigger than the Beatles?
Go back to the old ways?
etc.
I wish Reign would come out with a full PV
I wish Kameleo's yt stints were subbed
I wish Lycaon would reunite
I wish Kento (Subaru's twin) would be more vocal (talk, do skits with BP records, sing!)
I wish codomo dragon, kameleo, avd many "indie" bands were more popular

Didn't think I'd really care for One Piece Burning Blood but playing the demo is winning me over. I'll have to wait for the price to drop down though. ><

beni got a reaction from Original Saku in What video games are you currently playing?
Been playing Gundam Dynasty Warriors Reborn with the @CAT5-sama for a while now and I'm loving how much content there is in it. Already beat the official mode and almost all of the scenarios, but there's even more to do with replay value and leveling up/suit customizing. Too bad even I can notice they had left out a lot of worthy characters to include, including suits of course, but as a dynasty game, just can't get enough of it!

No idea if this has already been covered or not but she's so damn important (precious I really mean) so it must be done!
Source and her tweets can be found here and here.
I'm not surprised about this, but it's certainly not something I wanted to see happen. Just the hiatus news and her worrisome tweets was more than enough, so I hope she does what makes her truly happy. I'd always hoped she'd continue releasing music though, I'll miss her once she stops completely. I love everything I've heard from both Midori and her solo work, this is truly painful for her sake, and for us listeners and fans. Quite mixed in how to feel because it's such a conflicted standing. ;-;

Nah, you got that right. Even more hilarious seeing him as he is around the others. That panning was brilliant, it still makes me laugh remembering the scene.

I'm seriously hoping Brienne x Tormund isn't a one episode thing. I love how she's getting such attention, it makes me go all fuzzy and warm. What a woman, what a ship.
Can we also take a moment to appreciate all the little comic relief moments of this episode too? Loving how they're incorporating it in with both those two and even with Cersei when she walked in to talk with her son/King and Pycelle takes his sweet ass time awkwardly leaving as he was told to, lol.

beni reacted to BangyaWanabii in Hey ya'll
Hey! Obviously I'm new here haha.
I'm Sara, you can call me by name or by my username or whatever (my username is a joke btw... though I don't know if I'm considered bangya anyways just by default).
I'm mostly here to talk about Vkei, though I do like other Jrock. I just happen to live in Japan and going to lives is my hobby (it takes up so much money it's pretty much my only hobby). I don't really go see any bigger bands, except Nocturnal Bloodlust but even they're still small compared to some. I usually go to Nagoya lives (I will go to Osaka or Tokyo for special occasions, I recently went to Kansai Rock Summit in Osaka since so many bands were playing!). I like ジン, Smileberry, Sick2, BFN (before they disbanded obv), Elysion, MeteoroiD, FED, 真天地開闢集団ジグザグ (saw them for the first time in Osaka this past Sunday, they were incredibly live!), and a lot more I can't think of.
Anyways, I know all the bands I go to are smaller but if you guys want live reports I'd be happy to do it. I'm excited to listen to more Jrock outside of Vkei but also of course welcome vkei recs if you have any!

beni got a reaction from gekiai in Top 10: PLASTICZOOMS - Song Edition
Top 10 - Song Edition
If you're new to an artist, you might want some recommendations before you dive into their whole discography, and what better way to help you out on that than to present to you a handful of favourite songs from across a band/artist's whole work? You might be wanting a heads up, especially those with a hefty discography, or just a starting point to lead you to the best spot and work your way down from there. Whatever the case, here's a personal list of my favourites by Gothic rockers PLASTICZOOMS.
This list is ranked, so the numbers are meant as a specific order in this case. I hope this proves to be helpful for any members who are interested in trying them out, or even encourage other fans to make their own lists in response on whatever PLASTICZOOMS related they might want to also do.
PLASTICZOOMS
Vocalist Sho Asakawa, guitarist Taiyo Ikeda, bassist Jun Yokoe, drummer Yuta Kurata, and keyboardist Shinpei Morishige make up the band. Their style can be described as alternative, shoegaze rock, but they touch upon many different sounds with each release ranging from post punk to electronic. They also have just as much of a focus on their appearance as they do sound. They're well known for their Gothic appearance, and are more popular overseas than in Japan due to this and their almost Visual Kei-esque attire. They have even collaborated with fashion label Discovered, had a photo shoot exhibited by professional photographer Nao Takeda, and appeared in "The Reality Show", a magazine where they worked with photographer Nobuyoshi Akari and designer Jill Sander. Sho himself has a brand called Venus Eccentric and is a DJ. PLASTICZOOMS are a very active band that are constantly evolving as musicians. In an interview, Sho has even compared the band to a chameleon in that they change "color from time to time" with each release. While this is certainly true, as evident with their first album (Charm) being especially punk influenced while their second (Starbow) has more of a pop sound, they continue to get better and better in my eyes.
10. SWAN
9. SAVAGE
8. THE MORNING SUN
7. Witch
6. WOODS UNDER THE MOOD IN THE LOOP
5. P A R A D E
4. ILLUMINATION
3. PINK SNOW
2. Cry. Distance.
1. Sleepwalker
It was difficult just picking out ten PLASTICZOOMS tracks, who admittedly don't have that big of a discography compared to most, but even so there were two specific songs that unfortunately couldn't make it in that still deserves mentions.
"MONOCHROME" really can be the only reason you need to check out their second album CRITICAL FACTOR just because of how perfect it is of an opening to the release. The messy yet grungy execution and overall dark sound makes this one an instantly repeatable tune all on its own."The Shadow" is a fine example of how the band used to sound early one, and easily my firm favourite from their early discography. It's a hauntingly beautiful yet quite simple post-rock tune compared to their recent output.
So, do we have any other PLASTICZOOMS lovers in the house? Anything you'd like to add, or change, or comment on? Give us your thoughts below! Also feel free to suggest other artists you might want to see be ranked like so: song wise, release wise, PV wise, you name it! I hope you enjoyed!

I love you all to death but remember to behave or I'll personally ram the banhammer sideways in your ass <3

That's what the Sunday sessions are for: an official session of usually themed sessions. That has slowed down since dub had to take over from plug, but I'm very pleased to see interest being spoken of. You should feel free to post any theme ideas in the thread as it has been used for (we've even spoken about discography/movie nights), and do so whenever.

I hope you enjoyed!

beni got a reaction from freesia in Show Yourself (again)
Me without my braces! /o/ Thought they looked weird at first, and I never expected to have such a nice (and not super wonky and confused!) set of teeth, so I'm really happy.
