I agree, I don't think a new OS is going to help since the blue screen is usually a hardware failure. Most of my experience with it had to do with hard drive problems (viruses or an actual factory defect), Owl has recommended what I would say as well, try 7 again if that's what you already have. It will let you know fairly quickly if it's a simple software problem. You were probably recommended to upgrade since the mouse and tablet problems sound like driver errors, but that's another thing simply re-installing your current OS should fix.

do a clean install of your current windows. if the problems still persist then it's a hardware issue and upgrading is not gonna fix it.

The start menu will return in Windows 9.

Dir en grey are prolly so popular/hyped 'cuz they were at the head of the whole nu-metal/metalcore-inspired wave of VK which started somewhere in the 2000's, just like jduv86 said. Many bands have since copied their style and they were also one of the first visual-related bands to achieve some form of overseas success as far as I remember.
 
As for Babymetal, I genuinely have no idea. I feel like at least some portion of their fanbase is only there ~ironically~ or whatever, like with artists such as Lil B. They certainly have that whole novelty factor thing going with their metal/idol pop mix, at least.
 
I personally never understood the whole hype surrounding bands like FACT or ONE OK ROCK. I like one or two songs by each band, but I genuinely don't see what sets them apart from any other acts in the current post-hardcore scene...

First come in my mind: BABYMETAL. OK I tried listen to them and nothing make me impressed. But why metal fans like them, and many metal musician promote them? I think they are just an Idol, with standard idol-type vocal and mixed with metal music. I didn't see the two different thing (metal and idol) fit.

As music fans, we all have that one band - that one band that we can't seem to get into, but everyone else seems to completely adore. The purpose of this thread is to find out exactly why other people enjoy those bands that escape our interest - to get to the bottom of all of the hype.
 
Now this thread SHOULD NOT be used as a vehicle to bash or "throw shade" at bands or other music fans (although plz be honest by all means). This thread is for respectul music fans that are genuinely curious about discovering why certain bands are so popular or so well liked.
 
So if you'd like someone to explain the hype surrounding a certain band, then feel free to ask here! And if you can offer a legit reason or a sound theory as to why you think the bands mentioned in this thread are so hyped, then by all means, go for it!

Now firstly....I'D LIKE TO ADDRESS MEJIBRAY. What's the deal with these dudes? Their appeal and popularity is a bit lost on me, so would someone please explain the hype?

From time to time I do draw, too.
I mostly use regular pencils but whenever I just doodle I might use ballpoints or wax crayons.

I'm still pretty new to them but I think they're fun to listen to, even if at times they sound way too much like Vocaloid music and their visuals scream cosplay I also really like Ice's voice, which is why I started listening to them.

I use solely many variations of my first nickname (which also happens to be one of my first, frequent irl nicknames too) when in the forums and so (last.fm might be an exception but whooo caareesss)
 
So yeah, nickname choices in my case really matter (and no, I didn't intend to refer to one of the worst bloggers ever with my current nick, sorry ppl!)

I know that I personally am very picky about what my usernames are and how they look when you write them etc.
I also have a tendency to get bored with them easily so I change a lot...

I think it's a lot better than the release previous to this one. I know many people probably look at BFN as some kind of joke because of the cheesy synths and the hella auto tune on Ice's voice sometimes. Rame, Ice and Toki having come from well known bands in the past, this is probably a very different project that people may not exactly prefer.

I personally dislike over use of auto tune most of the time when it's clearly used to AUTO TUNE BAD SINGING. Considering BFNs theme and the kind of music they claim to aim for I think the auto tune they tend to use sometimes (often) is acceptable. From live videos I have seen, it seems it's difficult for them to perform such a strong electronically inspired sound. Regardless i think this band is really fun, and while they're not technical, they're very very enjoyable.

I got a tablet less than a year ago and I mean i've doodled some things on it but never really finished anything or even went to the extents of shading and coloring, so please forgive me for the terrible shading and what not (although it's probably more of my lack in the arts department more so than my knowledge of tablet efforts)

From what I read elsewhere, Sojung was stabilized relatively rapidly, but RiSe required multiple brain surgeries (nine hours in total), and it is speculated that she may have suffered brain damage. EunB died because she wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle upon impact.

I've been feeling like the vk scene in general has been slowly dying out for a while, and people have been losing interest since new bands barely last a month anymore. It's hard to keep subscribers if you don't have many bands to post that continually draw people in. And if YT channels aren't getting views/likes/subs from the content then they don't bother posting those type of things. And when there's not readily available content then a lot of people stop caring. Half the time even joining a community such as MH is too much work for a casual fan. So they move onto Kpop, or Jpop or whatever else is easy to find and fills their time. It becomes a vicious cycle. 
 
The scene has changed so much from what it was a few years back. I remember some bands were together 2-3-4 years before any foreign fans ever heard of them, and the artists themselves (unless on a major label) never bothered posting on global sites like Youtube. Everything was fan posted content. Once the indies started posting their own, and labels started reporting the fan channels everything got harder and we started to only get CMs for videos or "short ver" of the videos. I think people find those things annoying. And it cut down the fan to fan contact, replacing it with one-sided artist to fan advertising. So the community as a whole became more distant and had less reasons to talk to each other. And now with bands lasting such a short while, it leaves people a bit lost and unmotivated to keep repeating the cycle for little to no satisfaction. 
 
I run a jrock video blog for the last two years and while I can tell you the vk fans are loyal (I tend to see the same people liking the videos) but the visual kei videos don't get half of the attention as some of the others because A.) some companies now block viewers from outside of Japan, and B.) they rarely post official full versions of the videos (then proceed to report anyone else who uploads the full version). It's like they are purposefully trying to kill their own international fanbase. It's sad.

I've noticed this before underneath people's profile pics...and now it's underneath mine! Although honoured (?), what on earth is this? Am I now in a clandestine group of SEXY ELITE MEMBERS? XD
